Bio

I am a dedicated single mother of three children, ages 8 years, 1 year, and a newborn. As the sole provider for my family, I am seeking financial assistance to complete a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training program so I can build a stable and reliable career in the trucking industry. My main priority is to create a secure future for my children and provide consistent financial stability. Balancing parenting, especially with a newborn and young children, has made it challenging to pursue education and training on my own. Despite these challenges, I remain committed to improving my situation through hard work and determination. A CDL career would allow me to enter a high-demand field with long-term growth and steady income, helping me support my family independently. Receiving this grant would give me the opportunity to complete my training without the financial burden that currently stands in my way. I am motivated, responsible, and ready to invest my full effort into becoming a professional commercial driver and building a better future for my children.

My journey as a single mother pursuing education has been both challenging and motivating. I am the mother of three young children, ages 8, 1, and a newborn. Becoming a parent has completely reshaped my priorities and strengthened my determination to build a stable and secure future for my family. Every decision I make now is focused on providing stability, financial security, and opportunity for my children. One of the biggest challenges I face is balancing the responsibilities of motherhood with the need to improve my career prospects. Caring for three children at different developmental stages requires constant attention, patience, and energy. With a newborn in the home, my time and flexibility are extremely limited. This has made it difficult to pursue traditional education paths or long-term training programs that require significant time away from my family. Financial barriers also play a major role, as I am the sole provider and cannot afford costly training without assistance. Despite these challenges, my journey has also been deeply fulfilling. My children are my greatest motivation. They remind me every day why I must keep moving forward, even when things feel overwhelming. I take pride in knowing that I am working toward a better future for them. Even small steps toward education and career development feel meaningful because I know they are leading me toward long-term stability. My role as a mother has strengthened my resilience and taught me how to stay focused under pressure. I have chosen to pursue Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training because it offers a realistic and attainable path to stable employment. The trucking industry provides in-demand job opportunities and the potential for long-term career growth. I see this education as a turning point in my life—an opportunity to move from financial uncertainty to self-sufficiency. Completing this training will allow me to enter the workforce with a valuable skill that can support my family for years to come. Through further education, I hope to uplift both myself and my family by creating financial stability and independence. My goal is to secure consistent employment that allows me to meet my children’s needs, including housing, food, childcare, and a safe living environment. Beyond financial improvement, I also want to serve as a role model for my children, showing them the importance of perseverance, responsibility, and hard work. I want them to understand that even in difficult circumstances, education and determination can create new opportunities. Ultimately, my journey is about building a better life for my children and breaking cycles of financial instability. I am committed to completing my education, earning my CDL, and working toward a stable and successful future for my family.
      Sarah S. Weber Memorial Scholarship
I believe my education will change my life by providing me with the opportunity to complete Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training and enter a stable, in-demand career in the transportation industry. As a single mother of three children, ages 8, 1, and a newborn, I am seeking a reliable career path that will allow me to achieve financial self-sufficiency and provide long-term stability for my family. Currently, I face significant barriers to employment, including the high cost of training and the challenges of balancing full-time parenting responsibilities with education and work. Because I am the sole provider for my household, I must choose a career path that is both practical and attainable within a reasonable timeframe. CDL training is a direct pathway into employment in a high-demand occupation, allowing me to gain the skills needed to quickly enter the workforce while building a long-term career. Completing this education will allow me to obtain my Commercial Driver’s License and qualify for positions in the trucking and transportation industry. These roles are essential to the economy and consistently in demand, offering stable employment opportunities and competitive wages. By entering this field, I will be able to transition from financial instability to steady income, which is critical for supporting my children and meeting our basic needs, including housing, food, transportation, and childcare. In addition to improving my financial situation, this education will help me build long-term independence and career growth. I am committed to developing the professional skills, safety knowledge, and responsibility required to operate commercial vehicles safely and effectively. CDL training emphasizes road safety, regulatory compliance, and accountability, all of which are essential to becoming a responsible and reliable driver. I take these responsibilities seriously because safe operation of commercial vehicles protects not only myself but also other drivers on the road. Education through this program will also positively impact my role as a parent. My goal is to provide my children with a stable and secure home environment. By completing this training and securing employment, I will be able to demonstrate the value of perseverance, responsibility, and hard work. I want my children to see that despite challenges, it is possible to improve your circumstances through education and determination. Overall, receiving this education will be life-changing. It will allow me to overcome financial barriers, enter a high-demand occupation, and achieve long-term self-sufficiency. I am fully committed to completing my CDL training and building a sustainable career that will support my family for years to come.
