I read books multiple times a month.
My name is Jessica Jiang, and one of my life goals is to make an impact on the field of finance by working for either a microfinance or financial literacy program, or by becoming an ethics or compliance officer. It would be a dream come true if I could promote financial literacy and ethical investment practices in businesses! I believe I am a strong candidate because I have worked to make myself a well-rounded student. I speak English, Mandarin, and French fluently; I have also traveled to over ten countries in order to broaden my horizons and learn about various cultures. Additionally, ever since middle school, I have gotten all A's while immersing myself in music. In fact, aside from practicing the piano for seven years on my own, I have played the flute for almost eight years in my school's band program and have even had the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall! I am also a dedicated writer. Fortunately, my short stories resonated with many others; they have been evaluated at the state level, and one has even been published in the 2023 anthology by the Redwood Writers Club in California. Some of my other commitments include being in my school's marching band, volunteering as a math tutor for underprivileged kids, and participating in chess tournaments up to the state level. Each extracurricular activity has provided me with new skills and perspectives, and through them, I believe I am a better person who is more prepared to tackle the challenges that come with higher education.
