After high school, I plan on pursuing a degree in Secondary Education in the field of English. I enjoy reading different kinds of literature as well as researching the thoughts behind it. I am a critical thinker and can easily ponder over a topic, which helps me succeed in group discussions. I am outgoing and love a good challenge.

Jeanne Kramme Fouke Scholarship for Future Teachers
Throughout my high school experience, I have come across multiple blocks in the road that inhibited my ability to learn to the best of my ability. With the support of a few teachers who never gave up on me, my fire was reignited. This is where my admiration for what teachers accomplish every day came. I saw that they cared for others more than themselves, and they would do anything for them, including devoting time before and after school so that every student has their needs met. This is what I strive to become.
I hope to work as a secondary English educator to inspire students to develop a lifetime love of reading, writing, and critical thinking—like I did in high school. In addition to improving their literacy, I hope to create an atmosphere in the classroom where students actively interact with texts and their peers, improving their critical thinking and communication skills. I think pupils must understand the power of language and be inspired to voice their opinions. I will have the solid foundation and useful abilities I need to accomplish my goals inside and outside the classroom.
I have been accepted into Oklahoma State University, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English. Through my coursework, I will learn more about the subjects I will teach and investigate efficient teaching strategies catered to the individual requirements of my students. I'll be ready to run my classroom efficiently and make learning engaging, thanks to the training I get. The knowledge, skills, and confidence I get from this education will ultimately enable me to become a considerate, flexible, and influential teacher who supports students in excelling in their academic achievement while also fostering the critical thinking and communication skills and abilities that will be essential for their success in the future. I am eager to pursue a degree in Secondary English Education, where I can combine my passion for literature with my commitment to shaping future generations.
Throughout my academic career, I have demonstrated dedication to my studies and community. My love for English has been evident in my coursework, extracurricular activities, and leadership roles. Through tutoring peers, engaging in literary discussions, or participating in school organizations, I have sought opportunities to inspire others with the power of language. My goal is to become an educator who not only teaches literature but also fosters critical thinking and a lifelong appreciation for learning, as well as creating an environment where students can become ready to conquer any problem.
