Bio

I am currently a junior in high school that is looking for help to pay for my own college. My goals in life are to give my children and other children everything that I could not get during my own childhood. I want to become a family nurse practitioner. I know that it will take countless hours of hard work and sacrifice, but I am prepared to take it on. I am a good candidate for this scholarship because I come from a broken home and my desire is to give others what I could not have because of my family. I enjoy all things outdoors and love learning about different cultures!

    Headbang For Science
My name is Jesse Conley and I am currently a junior in high school. I come from a broken home and neither my mom or dad nor me and my dad could ever get along. Since I do not see my dad anymore he refuses to support me in attending college and he has also said that he will never give me a dime for it. I know that it will be difficult paying for my college and trying to stay away from going into student debt. I am not the highest scorer in my class but I am above the "average" statistics. My goals when I look for the future are to own my own medical pavilion, but it will take a long time to get there. First I will go to nursing school, then start working and get my BSN and my master's degree at the same time. Once I complete that schooling I will go back to work and hopefully get into a nursing practitioner program, and the rest will soon be history. This scholarship award will assist me in paying the cost for nursing school. This scholarship would potentally pay for the majority of my two year degree where I could use my money to purchase other things like an appartment and repair my car. I have always dreamed of having nice things like everyone else, but because of my low income parents it was simply not possible. I have had a job since the beginig of the 2022 summer, I was first a babysitter for three girls, all ages under 9 and one of them was a special needs infant. At the end of summer I got a job working at a pharmacy in town, I have grown to really like it. This summer I am aiming to get two more jobs, so then I will be working for the pharmacy, hopefully babysitting, and possibly at a doctors office. I am completly paying for college on my own so I have to work every chance that I get in order to start building up my income. Instead of what you want to hear me say about Heavy Metal music I am going to tell you my story about this specific genre of music. When I think of Heavy Metal music it reminds me of being with my father being forced to look like I was having a good time or else deal with the concequences that came with it. It reminds me of being forced to hangout with my dads friends while they drink and party and make me wittness it all. I personally will flip the radio to a Heavy Metal station every once and awhile so I can understand where I was in life and how far I have came ever since. My favorite thing to do will always be pretending to play the air gituar when I was trying to copy a sick solo thinking that I could play like that one day. Heavy Metal music means a lot to me, just in the way that you might least expext it too.
    Reach For Your Future Scholarship
I come from a low-income and broken family, which means that I have not been able to experience everything that a normal kid might have. Becoming a nurse practitioner will give me the means to be able to provide for my family and give them everything that I did not get when I was a child. Pursuing higher education will help me reach all of the goals that I have set for my life. I believe that I can persevere through these next hard yet crucial years in order to achieve everything that I have and will want in life. I have concrete ideas in my head when I think about my future, plans that consist of owning a medical pavilion. My mom being a nurse at our town's local hospital has given me the ability to meet many people in the healthcare business. With that being said, I have asked countless questions every chance that I got. I would say that I have most definitely done my research about what field of medicine I want to go into. I shadowed a cardiovascular sonographer last year and was fascinated with how the heart works. It was difficult to decide whether or not I wanted to be a nurse practitioner or a sonographer- preferably for cardiology. I plan to get into nursing school, then begin working and once I have some experience, get my BSN and my master's degree. Once I get all of that schooling done I will hopefully have enough hours to qualify for entrance into the nurse practitioner program. Then after I finish all of my schooling I will go to work where I can gain experience before branching out on my own. This scholarship will tremendously help me in more ways than one. I have been told for three or four years now that I will be paying for my college. With that being said, I got a babysitting job last summer and in the fall once school started back, I began working as a clerk at one of the pharmacies in my town. My goal is to not go into student debt or get any loans for college, therefore during my senior year, I will be putting in at least twenty hours each week. I believe that working that much while being a student and taking college classes on top of everything will be hard, but I also believe that I can do anything that I put my mind to. Furthermore, becoming a nurse practitioner is my dream and it is something that I desperately need help doing. This scholarship will help me get into nursing school so that I can start the many stages of schooling that I will be needing to go to.
    Taylor Swift ‘1989’ Fan Scholarship
My favorite song in Taylor Swift's '1989' album would be 'Blank Space'. It is my favorite because she talks about how everyone has hard times in life and how it is important to overcome them. I believe that I have had many difficult times throughout my life because I come from a broken home. My parents have never gotten along, and neither have I and my father. I have realized that music can help tremendously by taking your mind off of the world around you and distracting you from what may be taking place. Taylor Swift has become the only musician that has been able to drag me out of my anxiety and depression. Ms. Swift speaks with intelligence along with passion and love for the men and women that listen to her music. The lyrics in her song 'Bad Blood' discuss all of the things she could be doing, but instead, she is chasing guys and overcoming the horrid things that they do to her. While aiming the focus on men in her song, she is explaining all of the cruel things that this world may bring. Her astonishing performance in songwriting creates a sense of comfort, and that has come to something that I tell myself often, "I can do this because Taylor has done it too." I have loved and adored Taylor Swift since I was a little girl that was trying to learn all of the lyrics to her songs, and even then at such a young age, she helped me more than anyone else could have ever done. Unfortunately, I have only been to one of her concerts and when I went my favorite song at the time was 'Bad Blood', which while writing this essay seems like a cliche. Her current tour, The Eras Tour is currently going on right now, and although I would have loved to go, I have not had the money to take it myself. In conclusion, 'Bad Blood' has and will always be my favorite song in Taylor Swift's '1989' album. Not just the song itself, but the whole album enforces all of us to walk with confidence and to never stop believing that we can do anything that we put our minds too. Ms. Swift has inspired all men and women for a long time and she will continue to help people along the way because of her love and gratitude towards all of her fans.
    I Can Do Anything Scholarship
When I dream of what my future self will look like, I have always imagined being a nurse practitioner that will make the amount of money to give my children everything that I could not have and more.
