I know I am starting school a bit later in life, but better now then never. I have 3 beautiful children. I am now raising on my own my 2 year old perfect GrandPrincess. I always try to be as kind, nonjudgmental, and helpful as I can because, as a human, you are always only one bad choice or decision away from needing help, kindness, or a hand up.

A Little Bit About Me.
April 30th, 2025
We should start with the basics is my guess so, I am a 47 year old Mother of 3, Grandmother of 2 (one of which I raise alone), and a fur-baby mom of 4 dogs. Almost 3 years ago my middle child had a baby and basically handed her to me.
It was at that moment that my typically footloose and fancy free way of life came to an abrupt halt, and my new life with Mykah started. She is everything to me. I am so in love with her and all she is. As with any blessing you want to take care of it the best you can. This blessing was no different. Which got me worried about my or our future. How could I take care of her? I had done nothing to speak of for my future up until then. I had no Education above High School or GED Level.
There are a few morals and ethics that I live by which I never stray from. Really they are my foundation that I have built the person I am, up onto. One of them is, Failure is not an option, since Anything and Everything is possible, it is only when you stop trying does it become impossible. So after a long talk with myself I decided the only way to make our future okay and not struggle was to get a career. I live at my ex husbands dad’s house with Mykah and that is how we survive for now. Time will always pass it is a matter of what will you do with it to come out better. I am very much a realist and I understand that the person I live with is almost 80 years old so this wont last forever. I need to become self sufficient in order to be the best caregiver for Mykah, my Granddaughter.
I have always been a “computer person”. I enjoy learning about computers and I am amazed by the amount of stuff they can do. Also I am really against stealing and dishonorable people and stopping them would be an added bonus, so Cybersecurity seems like an awesome choice for me. Since July 2023 I have been in classes at MyComputerCareer.com and earned 7 Certificates including; Cyber Security Engineer, CompTIA A+ and AZ-900. All of which I am proud of but, most jobs want a degree. So now I am currently enrolled in SNHU in their Associates of Science in Cyber Security classes.
The only thing I am having issues with in my plan to become a better more educated version of myself is money. I am overloaded with classes, a two year old toddler and a whole household to take care of with 5 other residents. I do work for a few delivery places when I can. With all my responsibilities finding any real time to work is really hard. Any financial assistance would be very useful to me. So this Scholarship would help a whole bunch. To be honest I have never written an essay and I pray I am doing it at least well enough to win this Scholarship.
Thank you so much for this opportunity and for your time. Now I can say I’ve written an essay which I feel like I did good on so I am proud of myself. Baby steps are steps too
