Hello! My name is Jenifer, I am a first-generation college student and the youngest of six siblings. I went to Nassau Community College for two years and majored in Biology before transferring to the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). At ESF, I obtained a B.S. in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Natural System Applications in May 2024. I am currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Stony Brook University and have been accepted for enrollment in the Spring semester of 2025. I want to utilize my B.S. and future MBA to work with organizations to be more environmentally responsible while promoting sustainable and ethical practices. During my time ESF, I made a couple of achievements that I am very proud of. I was hired as an Undergraduate Student Assistant for the Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (OIDE). At OIDE, I help bring awareness and appreciation of many different cultures on our campus. I also became a Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Scholar, which helped me obtain more research opportunities. Lastly, I co-founded and became the President of the Latin American Student Association, which was the first ever Latino-based club at ESF. I hope to continue to advance my education so that I can help people and the environment.
