I am knowledge seeker that wants to contribute to this world in meaningful ways so that it is better when I leave it than it was when I arrived. My dream is to attend medical school and to become a physician. This has been a lifelong dream of mine which was sparked by my mother being nurse and further affirmed through the presence of role models. My goals in medicine are to minimize the lack of representation and address health inequalities.
I hope to achieve a level of success and fulfillment in my life where I can make a lasting contribution to society.

Bear Fan Scholarship
The restaurant’s failed attempt to earn a star sets off a series of spiraling consequences, pushing the team into a whirlwind of high tensions and animosity. Everyone at The Bear is on edge, criticizing each other’s handling of responsibilities as they work toward the elusive, yet materialistic goal of recognition. As the weight of external pressures begins to shift, the team realizes that their primary focus should not be on stars or accolades but on delivering a unique and enriching dining experience that celebrates the artistry of cooking and the joy of serving others.
The Bear shifts its focus from lofty, external goals to an inward journey of self-acceptance and personal fulfillment. Carmy, once obsessed with the pursuit of external validation, begins to regain his passion and joy in cooking. Some years later, the family decides that it is time to close The Bear. They’ve accomplished what they set out to do, and there’s nothing more they can offer in that particular chapter of their lives. Their mission has been fulfilled, and it is time to let go.
The story then jumps forward, showing where each character’s journey has led them after the restaurant’s closure. Everyone has moved on, each having found their own version of success. Carmy, at peace for the first time in years, steps away from cooking at a high level. He no longer chases accolades and has come to terms with the loss of his brother, finally visiting his grave and allowing himself to grieve. With this newfound peace, Carmy reconciles his relationship with Claire.
Sydney makes the realization that she doesn’t need to chase after Carmy’s success and that she must forge her own path. This epiphany brought about due to finally understanding her what her father had been trying to tell her that sometimes, slowing down, breathing, and taking a beat is the best way forward. She ends up getting hired at an up-and-coming restaurant and, after years of hard work, earns her own Michelin star.
Richie, who had struggled with his identity and his past, evolves into someone who embodies growth and accountability. He becomes a man of great character, accepting his past mistakes to fully embracing his divorce and the happiness his ex-wife has found. Richie enters a healthy relationship with Jessica, a reflection of his emotional growth.
Sugar, who had been haunted by her past traumas, finally learns to step back and not carry the weight of others’ problems. She becomes a dedicated mother and develops a genuine relationship with her own mother. Marcus opens a bakery in honor of his late mother, honoring her memory while pursuing his passion. Meanwhile, Tina starts a community kitchen, dedicated to supporting local businesses and offering job opportunities to those laid off, much like how The Bear provided a support system for her.
The Fak brothers, ever inseparable, remain as they were—unhinged, hilarious, and always scheming. Their bond remains unbreakable, and their antics continue to bring a sense of joy and energy wherever they go.
Eventually, the characters come together for a reunion—perhaps a wedding, a celebration, or a gathering to mark the closing of The Bear. During this reunion, they share their stories, reminiscing about old times and the lessons they’ve learned along the way. Flashbacks to key moments in their lives provide deeper insights into the paths they’ve taken, and we see how far they’ve come. After a long journey, each character has ultimately found their own version of peace and fulfillment, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of many new journeys.
Redefining Victory Scholarship
To me, success is defined by the personal goals and standards I set for myself, rather than by external expectations or material wealth. My vision of success is grounded in both my professional ambitions and my commitment to personal growth, each of which drives me to push myself further every day.
One of my ultimate goals is to become a physician. This career, which I view as my dream job, would allow me to dedicate my life to helping others. As a doctor, I want to support people in their most vulnerable moments, act as a problem solver, and provide thoughtful care. Beyond this, I aim to contribute to the movement for healthcare equity by delivering quality patient care, listening attentively to patient experiences, and addressing biases that may hinder effective treatment. Equity in healthcare is vital, and I aspire to be part of that solution.
Additionally, I am determined to inspire and guide young people of color, helping them navigate obstacles and find success in their own lives. I believe in doing my part to support the next generation, and bridging the disparities that often affect communities of color. Through mentorship, I hope to be a role model for young individuals, giving them perspective and pushing them to consider the endless possibilities of their future.
Building generational wealth is another essential goal. It means ensuring financial stability for my children and grandchildren, providing them with opportunities and a strong support system. This ambition, alongside my career and mentorship goals, creates a life of significance that goes beyond fleeting material success.
For me, success isn’t an end goal, but an ongoing mission. I measure my success by my progress and how much I grow each day. It is about being proud of the man I am becoming and the work I will do to make a positive impact on the world.
This opportunity will provide me with financial support and recognition of the progress I have made towards reaching success. Receiving this scholarship will play a crucial role in helping me achieve my dream of becoming a doctor by easing the financial burden of medical school. Medical education is expensive, and the costs associated with tuition, books, and other fees can quickly accumulate. Without this scholarship, the weight of student debt would follow me for years, affecting my future financial decisions and potentially hindering my ability to build generational wealth, a goal that is deeply important to me.
By receiving this scholarship, I will be able to significantly reduce the amount of debt I incur, giving me the freedom to focus more on my studies and less on financial concerns. Less time spent repaying loans means more time to invest in my future success, both personally and professionally.
This scholarship provides me with peace of mind, knowing that my future financial obligations will be lower and more manageable. Ultimately, this scholarship is not just about reducing debt; it is an investment in my ability to focus on my education and career. It brings me one step closer to achieving my dream of becoming a doctor and laying the foundation for financial stability and generational wealth. With this support, I can dedicate my energy to making a positive impact on the world through medicine and mentorship.
Simon Strong Scholarship
Upon stepping on the campus of my university for the first time my sophomore year, after a year online during the pandemic, I experienced a sense of discomfort and uncertainty that I had to overcome before I could make a place for myself within the university. This acclimation process took me the better part of the school year. I was hesitant to reach out initially due to my reserved personality. Combined with being in a space where my racial identity is consistently on display, I was overcome with a stifling sensation. I also often stayed at home on weekends due to having to work a considerable distance from school. This led to me becoming distanced from the university as I kept up with my classes and nothing more. I felt a bit disheartened, which weighed on my health as poor eating habits developed and I engaged in very little exercise. Despite everything I continued onward through the year because I knew that if I did not, I would not be able to achieve the potential that I had within me. As I thought more about the goals I had set for myself and my reasons for attending college I realized that my passive demeanor simply was not going to suffice if I wanted to become the person I desire to be. The first step in my reversal was understanding that the university exists for the purpose of serving and uplifting me. I am here to better myself and to do that I need to accept that I could not do it alone and to take full advantage of the resources and opportunities available. Being the oldest sibling, I have grown accustomed to figuring things out for myself, which has deterred me from asking for help. I see now that I created my own barriers making it difficult to seek help. After speaking with advisors and different faculty members, who were willing to provide guidance and support, my eyes were opened to the opportunities that laid before me. I realized that growing and learning from my experiences is what makes my education priceless and something that should never be taken for granted. This perseverance is something I will carry with me throughout the rest of my life. I would encourage anyone who finds themselves away at school, feeling isolated and socially ostracized, to take time to really reflect on what their goals in life are. They should think about why they chose to attend college and what they hope to achieve after obtaining their education. It is also essential to find people to speak with after sitting with their thoughts themselves. If they are truly dedicated to being successful, I believe this will make them feel reaffirmed and mentally prepared to identify resources, create a plan, and to do whatever it takes to reach their goals.

John Young 'Pursue Your Passion' Scholarship
For as long as I can remember, becoming a physician has been the major goal in my life. My interest in medicine is due in great part to my mother, who has been a nurse for the past 15 years. Seeing her work tirelessly to not only provide for me and my sister, but to also impact and improve people's lives has had a profound impact on me. I want to attend medical school to dedicate myself to developing expertise and knowledge on something that impacts the entire world. Having a career in medicine as a physician will provide me with a stable position that satisfies my aspirations for service and conducting fulfilling work. The biggest contention I have met on my path to becoming a physician is the question of why I am drawn to the position and why not become a nurse or physician assistant. To me the answer is simple, I am not content with simply entering the healthcare field at any position. I desire to reach a point no one in my family has and become a leader within the field. It is my hope that my achievement will be able to serve as an inspiration to young men of color to believe in themselves and pursue their passions regardless of their background. As a physician, I will utilize my skills and interests to impact the lives of patients and contribute to the wellbeing of society. I want to use my expertise and lived experience to help every person that I come across to the best of my ability while also working to create and maintain health equity. There is also a vast disparity in healthcare experiences and health outcomes between whites and individuals of color. There needs to be more awareness around this issue so that it can properly be addressed, which requires that there be more physicians of color. This lack of representation is especially dire for the black, male demographic which is why this goal is so meaningful to me. As a physician, I seek to provide the best possible care to every patient and work towards an equitable healthcare experience.
MedLuxe Representation Matters Scholarship
As an African American man, knowing that a serious racial disparity exists within the medical field resonates deeply with me. Black patients are subjected to subpar experiences and mistreatment; the outcomes of which are higher mortality rates, lower life expectancy, and greater instances of hypertension. As a physician I want to work towards ensuring there is equity in the services provided in healthcare. When patients of color interact with those privileged with better healthcare encounters due to their race, the physician-patient relationship can be fickle which makes patients less willing to be open and attentively listen. I want to be a physician that can foster a sentiment of understanding for the perspectives of different groups of people; being considerate of patients' life experiences. I hope to provide a sense of comfort, trust, and respect that will enable me to work with patients to produce the best health outcome. When I was a child, my pediatrician was a black male doctor and looking back on that experience now, I realize that it had a profound impact on my aspirations in life. I had a source of validation that individuals with my background could advance in medicine which gave me a sense of belief in myself and my ability.
I desire to bridge the gap between medical care and patients’ unique background by being a physician that is able to relate to their patients. I also seek to become a positive role model and source of inspiration for young individuals of color so that they feel that they can achieve any dream that they dedicate themselves to. Using the knowledge and experience that I have and will continue to cultivate; I desire to provide people with guidance and support in an informed and conscious manner with concern for their health.
I am committed to contributing to the betterment of society through the way that I interact, treat, and educate patients that I encounter every day. I want to be a physician that will instill equity, compassion, and empathy into my provision of healthcare. My goal in life is to be able to look back and be proud of the work that I have done and its impact on the lives of the patients that I have interacted with. Having a career in medicine as physician will satisfy my aspirations for service and conducting fulfilling work by allowing me to use my expertise and lived experience to improve, prolong, and save the lives of patients.

My dream is to attend medical school and become a physician. I have wanted this for as long as I can remember. I want to be in a position where I can not only impact the lives of others but also serve as a source of comfort and inspiration for those who look like me. I chose to pursue an education in an effort to gain what I feel is necessary to reach my goals. To me education is a valuable acquisition of knowledge that will provide me with experience and preparation that is essential for navigating and understanding the world. Unfortunately being a student in college trying to obtain an education is no simple task. There are plenty of challenges and barriers that I have faced due to personal circumstances and external factors, most being outside of academics. This is especially true considering that I am a black male student in STEM at a primarily white institution. Upon stepping on the campus I experienced a sense of discomfort and uncertainty that I had to overcome in order to make a place for myself within the university. This acclimation process took me the better part of a school year. I was hesitant initially due to my reserved personality. Combined with being in a space where my racial identity is consistently on display, I was overcome with a stifling sensation. There are inevitable hardships I must endure as I continue on my path toward my goals. Things may not always go my way but nothing will prevent me from achieving success in life unless I give up and stop moving forward.
Cliff T. Wofford STEM Scholarship
I am studying to get a degree in biology. I want to better understand the world that we live in and call home. There are many intriguing aspects of life that are simply taken for granted and accepted as just another thing but in reality, they are fundamental processes or relationships that allow for life to carry on as it does. Studying life itself has always seemed fascinating to me as I used to wonder how it is that people are able to continue to exist and adapt to changes in the environment.
I am obtaining my degree with the intention of attending medical school afterward. It is my dream to become a physician. I seek to become a source of inspiration for those of the younger generations who look like me. It is important that they know that they can achieve any dream that they dedicate themselves to. When I was a kid my pediatrician was a black male doctor and looking back on that experience I now realize that it had a profound effect on me. I have wanted to be a doctor for as long as I can remember but unlike many young black boys, I had a source of validation that my dream was possible since my pediatrician had done it. Having this enabled me to stay on course toward the goal that I set and gave me a sense of belief in myself and my ability. I hope to have a similar impact on young individuals of color through my practice.
Working to ensure there is equity in the services provided in healthcare is another important goal that I have. There are numerous instances throughout history and in the present day where black people are subjected to subpar experiences and mistreatment. This is due in large part to a lack of understanding and perspective in those who are majority white and servicing patients of color. I seek to mitigate this by using my position to be conscious of how certain decisions and actions may affect different groups of people and by taking the extra effort to rectify any disproportionate consequences as best as I can. Also by being my genuine self I hope to bring comfort to those with whom I share an aspect of my identity. I strive to make an impact on the lives of the people who come into my care as well as those who I chose to surround myself with in my life. Using the knowledge and experience that I cultivate I want to be able to provide people with the proper guidance and understanding on how to live their lives in an informed and conscious manner with concern for their health. If I can make this world even a bit better than it was when I arrived I will be pleased.
Your Dream Music Scholarship
A song that has a really important message to me is "Love Yourz" by J. Cole. In the song, he talks about how important it is to love and believe in yourself. Cole says “there's no such thing as a life that’s better than yours” to let people know that they should value and appreciate their life. In today's era of social media, it can be very easy to get caught up in comparing yourself with others you see online. There will always be something in the world that you do not possess but to truly enjoy life at a certain point you have to learn to look at the things that you do have and be joyfully content with that. It might be really cool to think about having the same limited edition, futuristic Mercedes as Drake but unless you have the same kind of funding and connection as him that is an unrealistic goal and that is alright. Cole also says “It’s beauty in the struggle” meaning that sometimes you have to go through tough times before you can get where you want to in life. Having to work hard is inevitable for most people in our society. Though it can be an indicator that the goal that lies ahead is fulfilling and worth putting in time and effort for. The struggle should then be welcomed and accepted as a sign of success and achievement in the future.

Learner Higher Education Scholarship
Higher education is important to me because it is a privilege that not everyone has access to. The acquisition of knowledge is a passion of mine. Learning is a key component of life that we do constantly. Having the opportunity to learn at an elevated level and gain the respected status of being an educated individual. The possession of an education empowers people to be able to move upward in society. As a black man in America, I am aware of how many determinants there are to being successful and that there is not a designated path in society for someone with my identity to make it. By obtaining an education I am able to develop essential skills and insight that will allow me to navigate society. A foundation that can be utilized to attain success in life.
Your Health Journey Scholarship
My health journey has been one of realization and acceptance. Health is extremely important and impacts many different aspects of life. I have realized that the things I put into my body have a real impact on my health and if not being considerate of this fact can lead to issues later in life. I used to be really bad about not drinking that much water on a daily basis and would also go long stretches without eating, often working on an empty stomach. This would lead to getting slight headaches sometimes. I never took the time to think about the effects these bad habits were having on my health as I was so focused on other priorities. I had also grown accustomed to having a high metabolism and thought that excluded me from having to worry about it, but that is the case. My blood pressure was checked at one point and I noticed that it was a bit high which signaled me to take my health more seriously. There is a history of high blood pressure in my family so I want to ensure that I avoid having to deal with that condition. I now go to the gym at least twice a week and try to drink two to three large cups of water at minimum every day. Reducing how much I eat fast food is another change I have made. I noticed that I lost some weight and felt better in general. I am glad that I started my health journey and am now working to make these new practices into habits. There needs to be more awareness and promotion of practicing good health so people know the risks that come with certain things and ways to reduce or avoid those consequences.

College provides the opportunity to take advantage of numerous resources, connections, and programs that can all be used as stepping stones as you continue to grow as a student and individual in life. There are a number of unique opportunities available to students, such as having access to a large network. Maintaining a healthy balance in life can be difficult due to the excess of distractions present. I have found that listening to music is the biggest stress reliever. It can always make my mood better, no matter what is going on. I probably listen to about six hours of music everyday
Music has become an integral part of my life. Staying active has also helped me maintain good health. I try to go to the gym twice a week. Not only for physical fitness but also as an outlet to work out frustration and take a break from consecutively working on school work. Creating a schedule is vital for keeping track of classes and different time commitments as well allows you to find time for yourself to relax and charge. Taking the time to unwind is vital in order to ensure that your state of mind, body, and soul remain in good shape. Stress is unavoidable and can be a significant determinant to health. Figuring out how to best deal with stress can be a lengthy process but the payoff is a lifelong one.

#Back2SchoolBold Scholarship
My best back to school tip is to make a plan. Take some time and figure out what you need to accomplish and what you want to achieve. Once you have done this come up with a set of steps and give yourself deadlines. Commit yourself to the goals you set by mentally preparing to dedicate yourself to making those things happen over the course of the next year. It may be helpful to sit down and have someone do this with you to ensure you have support and accountability in place, but it has to start from within. You need to believe that everything you seek is attainable and understand what must be done to get there.
