Bio

I would love to become a biomedical engineer someday and earn a Ph.D in engineering. I would love to do research in the field and make the world a better place through innovation. However, I need money to be able to attend certain institutions to which I have applied, or else they are not affordable.

When I was a child, I deeply desired to be a veterinarian. Then, I didn't have as much of an interest in animals anymore, so I decided I wanted to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. I wanted to save lives, but then I realized that I wouldn't be able to interact with the patients as a surgeon. So, I then decided I wanted to become a nurse. Finally, one major problem arose: I didn't like blood. Also, I was deeply fascinated by mathematics and physics to the point where it would be a waste to not use them throughout my life. But something I realized through all of these career choices throughout the course of my life was this: I wanted to help. My biggest priority in life when it came to having a career was to make the world a better place to live in for the people of my generation and future generations. I would not feel at all fulfilled if I had a job that didn't work to improve society or the lives of other people. For this reason, engineering stood out to me. Engineering involves solving the world's problems through the use of mathematics, physics, and design, which I all deeply love. On top of that, engineering is so interdisciplinary that engineers are almost always needed for almost any problem. I desired to be that reliable person. As a Catholic Christian, I believe that the entire world is a family under God. For this reason, we must constantly serve our communities, just as Jesus came to serve, not to be served. St. Peter once said, "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms" (1 Peter 4:10). By my knowledge and advancement in STEM through taking AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C: Mechanics, and AP Physics C: Electromagnetism, as well as Calculus I, II, and III, and Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, I have an outlet through which I can serve my community as a call from God. I also wish to pursue research within the engineering field, for the same purpose of making the world a better place. I deeply desire to make prolific strides in the field of engineering, so that more innovation and technology can spring forth from my work. Above all, my main goal is to make a lasting change in society that can provide aid to those who need it the most, and I believe that research is the best way of doing that.
