Dedicated to my dreams. They are the only things keeping me going these days.
To be more specific, I've always been the type of person to pick up languages easily and I've always wanted to travel far and wide. To travel far and wide and learn more about other cultures in my career, I need my degree. My career and passions are teaching English to non-native speakers in their home countries.
The current languages I speak are Korean(intermediate), Chinese (mandarin, beginner), and American Sign Language (intermediate). These are not the only languages I wish to speak. One day, I will have more than a hand full of languages and knew more than a handful of cultures through my desired career!

I've already persuaded a friend to go to college before. Back about 2 years ago I attended a 2-year college and it was my first year at that school but I didn't want to be alone and it was hard to adjust to the campus being as antisocial as I am. After my first semester, I found it was easy and I got my footing. It was not that bad but I was still alone. I asked my best friend to join me there and get some credits just in case they found what they wanted to do while taking a few classes. It was better than him sitting at home with no inspiration or motivation, really nothing to draw from but video games. My friend was still hesitant. So, I asked him to just try one semester, it was in our hometown, and less than ten minutes from his house. The biggest bonus was he had me there and we could do it together. I promised to study with him in our free time, and during his breaks, he could've hung out on campus or at my dorm to catch a nap. I was also on a meal plan so I bought him lunch as well. We are both from low-class families so sometimes I wonder if it was truly the free cafeteria food that got him to join me. The main point is for him that he wouldn't be alone or struggle alone in his first semester like I had to because know I knew what to do. I showed him that I could direct him to good tutors and ones to stay away from, good advisors, good professors with good classes to take, and others that weren't so good. My best friend was someone I knew and someone who trusted me. After that first semester of being together, they loved every experience they had. So if I were to direct this so someone less personal as my best friend to persuade them I would use the same tactics again. Ensure them they are not really alone in anything but they need to find the right people to be around and seek encouragement from. Also, if you're not sure it's okay to go to a community college.
