- Computer and Information Sciences, General

My name is Jaylin Sellman, and I am a student at North Carolina A&T State University, where I am pursuing a degree in Information Technology with a concentration in cybersecurity. My long-term goal is to serve as a military officer specializing in Cyber Operations. I am deeply committed to advancing representation and opportunity for women in STEM, particularly within the field of cybersecurity. For two years, I have been an active member of the Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) Student Chapter at my university, where I have contributed to efforts aimed at expanding engagement, fostering professional development, and building a supportive community for students pursuing cybersecurity careers. Additionally, I completed three years in the Air Force ROTC program, during which I participated in organizations such as Arnold Air Society and the i5 Space Squadron. Through these experiences, I developed leadership skills and contributed to initiatives focused on teamwork, discipline, and mission-oriented collaboration. In the future, I aspire to serve as a role model for young Black women pursuing careers in cybersecurity by challenging stereotypes and encouraging persistence in the face of barriers. By leveraging my academic training, leadership experience, and commitment to service, I aim to make a meaningful impact within the cybersecurity field and my broader community.
