I've had the same goals since I was a little kid. Neither of my parents pursued a college education, which wasn't a bad thing, of course, but it made me want to do something that nobody in my family has done, which is graduate from college with a degree. I've always wanted to play baseball for as long as I can, but deep down inside of me, I know that road will eventually end.
At about 14 years old, I told myself that I wanted to go into the medical field because whatever I do in my future, I want to help people. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to be at the time, whether it was a doctor, chiropractor, or one of the many other medical professions until about this time last year.
I love everything having to do with sports; watching, playing, coaching, being a referee/umpire, all of it. I wanted to do something with my life that included sports, and eventually found out that I could be an Athletic Physical Therapist. It was a job that I could really see myself doing. I started doing research and found out how long the education would take, which courses to take in school, and even started taking physiology and sports med classes in high school. I became dedicated to this path.
Eventually, I want to be a Physical Therapist for a sports team, whether it's a college team or professional team, preferably baseball or football. I'd get to spend the rest of my life being a part of a team and becoming close with the players. If my dream of playing professional ball doesn't work out, I'd be more than happy helping other people achieve their dreams.
I want to make a positive impact on other people's lives, and the best way to do that is to help them become the best version of themselves physically. The drive I have towards my goals is relentless, and to do something nobody in my family has done, while helping people, makes the end goal worth it.
