    AROC AI/ML Scholarship
I’ve had an extraordinary experience working with AI, the current project that I’m working on is creating a fashion brand website. I decided to use AI to help brainstorm ideas for what it’s going to be about. The AI generator I use is ChatGPT, I used it to help come up with slogans, color schemes and design ideas for the user interface. Then when I got started building the website I ran into some issues that I used AI to help me on. I used ChatGPT to go into detail about the website I want to make which is about a brand that sells clothes from the early 2000s that cater to young people in their 20s to early 30s and wanting to give the website a feeling of nostalgia with a modern look. I had ChatGPT help come up color combinations to help convey this type of sentiment. It gave me plenty of choices and detailed explanations to why it chose those colors and how they will mesh well with my website. I love how with ChatGPT you can customize how you want it to respond to you by being specific about its answer formatting. With things you may want it to exclude such as explanations or bulletin points to it actually using information that you provide such as screenshots for it to analyze to give you a well informed answer. Moreover, some issues that I encountered while making my website; making a drop down menu, integrating an add to shopping bag function and building the shopping bag webpage. ChatGPT was there to save the day by providing code from its intelligent database to create a block of code that I used to make a drop down menu for my website that worked perfectly! It even taught me step by step each of the elements it added to the block of code to show me it works. Another case I had ChatGPT help design the shopping bag webpage. Since I already gave the AI my code before, it used my code from a previous question and combined it to make the design of my shopping bag webpage to have the same layout as the rest of my website. Lastly was when I needed help making an add to shopping bag function. As I’m not very well versed in javascript. I asked ChatGPT to generate a function that is able to add items to the shopping bag with the price, size and title of the product. ChatGPT was smart enough to create a javascript function that is customized to add functionality to the shopping bag webpage. At the same time giving me a detailed explanation of how javascript works. As a result, ChatGPT has taught me skills that I will be using in the future. Above-all, I see ChatGPT being a revolutionary in artificial intelligence, with how vastly the generator collects its information from constantly getting accurate and up to date data. Being able to store that knowledge to remember the user’s data as if it's a digital brain. Making it a very reliable resource that's free to use for people to get their questions answered in a way that’s tailored to them. With this in mind I see ChatGPT as a vital resource to future web developers that I akin to as a way to help make coding easier by providing blocks of code that only takes a minute to generate efficiently. It improves our work sufficiently by making projects go faster, teaching the developer how ChatGPT generated it and helps us bring our projects to the consumer quicker.

    Heal Our World Software Scholarship
I believe that innovative software helps address some societal challenges specifically, helping people with disabilities and people that are not as tech-savvy have better access to tools that make it easy to navigate websites. Because I believe in the power of knowledge and the importance of letting everyone have access to information. The internet is a vast resource, making information more accessible for medical, workplace and education websites for everyone can help make the world a better place. First, for medical websites adding the option for text-to-speech for people that are blind while they are reading information about their condition. Provide videos for visual learners to help see what the symptoms and the conditions appear as. These tools can help someone get the help that they need. Therefore getting better patient outcomes in the long run the individual is able to use tools to find treatments for their health, saving their life. Second, the workplace. Sometimes disabled people may not be able to go to a job site in person so they may go apply for a job online. By making the job searching experience go smoothly, having text resizing to have better understanding at reading the description of the positions contribute to the economy and provide for their family. Third is education. Education is one of the most important foundations to life as a whole. It opens so many doors of opportunities and everyone should have the access to the power of education. There have been many innovations made for education for people with disabilities including online versions for all assignments and videos. Having quizzes that have extended time, screen readers or alternative formats so that every student can succeed in their own way. These three reasons with their benefits show how we can help prosper a community to their fullest potential by providing the needs for their success. Which is why I am committed to learning as many programming languages as I can so that I can access even more accessibility tools and ways that I can implement into my websites. So far I’ve fully taught myself HTML, CSS and am currently learning Javascript. I’ve put my skills to the test by making three projects; Survey about animals, Tribute to musical artist The Weeknd and a website for a restaurant. The goal is to learn how programming works so that I can find ways to make tools and make the website easy to understand for even the average person to making the accessible by having text to speech for people that are blind, text enlargements for people with problems with sight and captions to help using font that is readable to people with dyslexia. With my most recent project being the restaurant website. I made sure to use fonts that are not close together to be easy enough to read even for people with dyslexia. For the commercial I added to the restaurant I made sure to use subtitles for anyone that is hard of hearing, easy navigation that lets the user go back and forth to where they were before and where they want to go to now with no issues. Color is also important as well, to convey what type of website you want it to be and feel, for anyone it's important to not use colors that are saturated or bright. But instead using calming soothing colors. By providing accessibility tools, can make the individual feel included with the developer taking the time to learn, research and create accessibility tools that overall can help achieve the goal of reaching everyone in society with accurate information.
    Anime Enthusiast Scholarship
My favorite film is Spirited Away made in 2001 by Hayao Miyazaki, because I loved the amazing storytelling, settings and animation. Spirited Away was my introduction to Studio Ghibli's works and wouldn’t be my last, the storytelling was incredible with an original story about a young girl named Chihiro Ogino that is adjusting to her new environment after moving. She stumbles upon a seemingly abandoned amusement park with her parents. When actually she has gone into the world of ‘Kami’ or Japanese Shinto Folklore. While trying to find her parents she finds out that her parents actually turned into pigs! Chihiro now has to work her way in the world of Kami to go home with her parents back into humans. The way the movie tells the story has excellent pacing, it’s never too fast or slow, it's just right with the writing and dialogue that sounds as if it's a real conversation between the characters. What keeps your attention as well are the character designs are heavily based on Japanese Folktales that bring them to life in the movie. That sets each character apart with their designs, personalities and traits that make the movie the masterpiece it is. Next is the setting, the main setting is in the Spirit Realm while the two locations within the realm are the Bath House owned by Yubaba and the cottage owned by Zeniba. The world building was insane with seeing more than just the spirit world. It showed the economy, politics and with feeling very immersive with showing little scenes of Chihoro taking the train every time she travels around, showing us her working constantly and conversing with the locals that don’t add anything to the story itself but, adds to how realistic it feels following Chihiro’s journey. One setting that stood out to me the most was the flower garden scene with Chihiro and Haku walking through a flower garden. It is a short scene but seeing the colors of red, yellows and pinks contrasting with Haku’s black hair and white shirt. It makes for an enchanting scene. Saving the best for last the animation was what sold me on watching the movie in full is the animation hand drawn style giving me nostalgia to Disney’s renaissance days with such movies; Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, The Lion King and Beauty and The Beast. You see the dedication the animators put into making sure everything is moving at all times, even in the background you see people interacting with each other while Chihiro is working at the bathhouse. Even now refusing to use newer technologies that Disney uses such as 3D, rotoscope and cel animation. The beautiful animation of the environment with the grass flowing, flowers blooming and the trees swaying. The color theory with the colors blending into each other perfectly, using watercolor to create a vintage feel with how the colors aren’t too powerful but vivid enough that gives comfort to your eyes. As if the world is giving you an invite into the magnificent world of Japanese folktales. Overall the introduction to Studio Ghibli’s movie "Spirited Away" was the best introduction I’ve ever seen, the movie gave me so much euphoria and happiness to everything that I witnessed. It felt as if it took me back in time to when I was little watching Disney movies. I’m happy that I’m able to relive my childhood dreams once again by indulging myself in Studio Ghibli movies.
    Minecraft Forever Fan Scholarship
My favorite aspect of Minecraft is mining. It may sound boring at first until you know the possibilities of finding a dungeon, mineshaft, ravines, strongholds, and deep dark caves. I have fond memories of first playing Minecraft on my mobile with my younger brother in the summer of 2014 when school was out and we were excited to be able to play a survival multiplayer game together. We made our world and got our basic tools and base together. Then set out our first mining trip. It was quite a challenge, I remember when we found a cave filled to the brim with iron, lapis, coal, gold, emeralds and diamonds! It was too much for us to handle with both of our inventory filled with stacks of ores. I decided to go ahead and retrace my sets back to our base. When I ended up back at the base but couldn't find the cave my brother was in. Hours passed with us trying to find each other and we ended up having to end our world because my brother didn’t want to risk losing all the ores we just got after mining. Not the best memory but a funny memory nonetheless. A more recent memory is when the 1.14 cave update came out in 2021. I was enthusiastic to try to see the update and I tried the update with my friends. I loved what Mojang did to the caves making them appear realistic to how they look in real life. You’re greeted with a much larger cave in width and height with more details added such as; dripstones, amethyst geode, lush caves with azalea bushes, glow berries that add a amazon rainforest look underground and the more danger with the deep dark cave with the warden. Combined with the previous features that caves already have makes for an even more exciting adventure into the caves. I would stay down there for days mining as much as I could and exploring the behemoth cave. Finding mine shafts that go on for miles, dungeons with spawners that I could use for a mob farm and of course finding a goldmine of diamonds. Coming back to my base with an overload of supplies that will last me for days. Caves in Minecraft have followed me from childhood to where I am now, with the exploration creating a foundation of where memories I played with my friends, family, random players or myself that I still find myself reminiscing about to this day. It is an aspect in the game that brings a whole new set of gameplay that keeps me entertained for hours wanting to see what I will find next in my underground spelunking adventure.
    Zendaya Superfan Scholarship
An Aspect that I admire from Zendaya is her fashion. Anytime there is a major fashion event that Zendaya is attending I make sure to look at her outfit first. What she has worn over the years makes her stand out with her out of the box or even going above and beyond a fashion theme. Her outfits and seeing her confidence in them makes me want to recreate some of her outfits one day. Today I will be talking about my top 5 personal favorites from Zendaya’s Fashion journey. Number 5, is Zendaya’s sheer green corset dress by Vera Wang with her hair curled and swept to the side that she wore for the 71st Emmy Awards in 2019. The outfit itself is very minimalist with nothing else added to it besides Zendaya wearing earrings, one bracelet and high heels but it still accomplishes the look by giving off Poison Ivy with the dark shade of green that reminds me of the villainess. Plus adding to it with Zendaya’s hair color in the picture a burgundy color. Makes it a good look but definitely not the best. Number 4, is her custom Pink Jacquemus cutout dress for the movie premiere for Challengers of this year. With her hair styled in a “beehive” look from the 60s with a pink bow headband that reminds me of actress Brigette Bardot. This look brings back in time how people used to dress in the 60s. Makes her stand out from the rest of her castmates wearing normal clothes. This look is pretty good and was effective in bringing attention to the movie with her reflecting on how her character dresses in the movie as well. Having an old school wardrobe makes Zendaya look a little older than her real age with the hair making her more ‘mature’. Number 3, is her 2020 look for the 25th Critics Choice Awards wearing a hot pink breastplate by Tom Ford with matching color high heels, full skirt and her hairstyle in brown box braids. What I love is how much the breastplate got a facelift from the original breastplate from the 15th century. Giving it a new life with a futuristic and paired with her box braids brings a modern look. Number 2, is her robot suit outfit for the movie premiere of Dune Part 2 of this year. This outfit was insane with her wearing a literal, chrome, robot suit. It is the same outfit that was showcased at the Mugler fashion show in 1995 that is inspired by Future from Metropolis. This outfit stole the show with how avant-garde it is. It makes so much sense why she wears it for this event since the movie is about intergalactic conflicts with technology that is fitting for her to wear a robot suit for. Saving the best for last, my all time favorite outfit from Zendaya is her Light up Cinderella dress by Tommy Hilfiger for the 2019 Met Gala. This dress is my all time favorite with how eye-catching this dress is, it features puff sleeves with a giant skirt that has a luminous surprise underneath. To add to the costume features her stylist Law Roach playing the fairy godmother. Doing a mini performance on the red carpet using his wand to ‘summon’ the lights underneath Zendaya’s dress and transform into a radiant real life Disney princess. The design is exquisite with all the time and patience that went into this dress, from the design to the light show that Zendaya gave to the audience. One of the best outfits of all time.

London, already planning her next trip with Raven back in San Francisco, waves goodbye with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, leaving viewers wondering what new adventures await in future crossovers.
    Netflix and Scholarships!
My favorite Netflix show is Squid game because I love the minigames, characters, plot and settings. To give a brief description about the show, we are following a man named Seong Gi-Hun and with him and several other contestants that are participating in a survival game called Squid Game, in order to win the grand prize of 45.6 billion won. The plot itself is very interesting with one scene where Gi-Hun almost dies from a game of red, light, green, light. But is saved by another main character Abdul Ali and makes sure to keep you on your toes about who you think is going to win or lose. The amount of twists and turns this show has makes it for a good watch with some of the parts happening in the show making me audibly gasp with how insane it can get at times. Next, I love the show's variety of characters with their different traits, personality and why they're playing the game in the first place. The show did a good job not to introduce too many characters all at once making it not too overwhelming for the viewer. The main characters we have are; Kang Sang Byeok a North Korean detector that is wants to win the money to reunite with her family, Hwang Jun Ho the detective investigating the game, Abdul Ali a indian-immigrant trying to provide for his family, Jang Deok-su that is evading his boss so that he doesn’t get killed and hopefully win the money to pay off his debts to his boss, Oh II-nam is here to experience the game before he dies, Han Mi-nyeo that is there to solve her financial issues and Sang Woo, a businessman and best friend of Gi-hun who has been hiding the fact that he is in debt and needs money. What also kept me watching were the actual minigames that the host had the contestants play, they were all children's games that we would play from our childhood. It was interesting because the viewers, the same as I, were wondering; How can you turn a children’s game into a hard, competing game for grown adults? But the show quickly answers your question with their elimination styles, by making the stakes higher with the fact that you get killed if you lose, making it a competitive game that everyone had their lives on the line for. The six games were Red Light, Dalgona Challenge, Tug of War, Marbles, Glass Bridge and Squid Game. The settings for each other's games added to the eeriness of the show, with each game being set in a children’s playground. A place where you would think is innocent, playful and kind makes for a contrasting state when you see someone get eliminated while hearing a children’s melody play in the background as they die. Overall Squid game is a very well-rounded show leaving no plot holes. If you’re a fan of thriller shows with elements of survival shows such as; Total Drama Island, Big Brother and Survivor that have deadly revelations to them. Then you should make room for your next Netflix binging session!
    “The Office” Obsessed! Fan Scholarship
One character that I resonate with is Stanley Hudson because I love his no nonsense humor, he is one of the only characters that is sane and acts how the normal person would act if they were in his situation compared to the other characters. I want to highlight 3 of my personal favorite moments of Stanley that showcase his personality to the fullest. First, is from the episode ‘Take your daughter to work day” there is a scene where Ryan is talking with Melissa about a good coffee place called Jitters in the Steam town mall and wants Ryan’s contact information to send him more about it. It sounds innocent enough until you realize that Melissa is a child while Ryan is a fully grown man. Making the question about exchanging contact information with a child to be highly suspicious. Which is what Kelly thought as well so she went to Stanely to give him heads up about what she saw. My favorite moment happens when Stanley is talking to Ryan and going straight to the point about him needing to stay away from his daughter and “Boy have you lost your mind because, I’ll help you find it!” Two of my next favorite moments come from the episode “Did I Stutter?” where in a meeting Michael is talking about ideas of getting the workplace more “energized” and wants to brainstorm and has an idea for a rap jingle for the answering machine message. Micahel asks Stanley if he can help with that and he refuses to and when asked again from Michael he yells “Did I Stutter?” and continues to work on his favorite crossword puzzle. Another is later on in the episode where Michael forgives what Stanley said to him earlier in the meeting and says that he didn’t really mean it. Stanley disagrees and then it cuts to him saying another of one of my favorite lines “It’s like I used to tell my wife, I do not apologize unless I think I’m wrong, and if you don’t like it you can leave. And I say the same thing to my current wife, and I’ll say it to my next one, too.” Despite his sometimes grumpy grinch-like exterior, he has moments of kindness and wisdom that reveal a deeper complexity to his character. His dedication to crossword puzzles and his desire for a quiet life away from office drama are relatable aspects that many viewers, including myself, find comforting and familiar. I relate to that as well wanting to live a peaceful, quiet life minus all the nonsense that comes with it. The show has shaped my perspective on workplace dynamics to be more comedic than serious. Usually from other television shows that are also set in Office places. The coworkers and bosses are very monotone, serious about making the next deadline, the stock market and what team they are going to lay off next with no notice beforehand. But The Office has a more playful side to the workplace with how the characters interact with each other. That it doesn’t have to be serious all the time with the stressful work conditions that offices usually are.
    Cat Zingano Overcoming Loss Scholarship
I’ve lost 2 family members to COVID-19; my lovely grandmother and a family member from my mom’s side. This has caused me great pain deeply but I want to turn that pain into determination. Determination that can make a difference in the world by educating others on how COVID-19 works and how to prevent it. Because during this time when I lost my 2 family members I noticed a great amount of misinformation that was spreading about this disease. This was during the time COVID-19 was first discovered so there was information changing everyday. But that new information shouldn’t outweigh the blasphemous claims by citizens that are not medical professionals. Which is why I am committed to making a change by making a platform that showcases articles and medical studies by credible, licensed medical professionals that may not have enough influence to educate people. By using the power of technology I want to make a platform that information about COVID-19 or any other disease be accessible by anyone no matter your abilities or disabilities. To at least give insight to what the disease is. For example, giving insight to some of the most common COVID-19 strands, what symptoms that it may have, how to avoid contracting this disease by wearing masks, social distancing, practicing good hygiene and suggestions on seeing a doctor to help with treatment for the disease. I have always been intrigued by the power of technology. In high school, I took the time out of my day to teach myself programming languages such as HTML, CSS and now currently learning Javascript. I spent hours problem-solving and practicing these programming languages by making projects. So far, I’ve created three projects; a tribute page about musical artist The Weeknd, Survey about animals and most recently a Restaurant website. The goal of these projects is to continue learning how I can create web pages that are easy to find, read, and understand. So that eventually I can implement a way to team up with medical professionals and showcase their scientific findings on diseases including COVID-19. That will make information accessible, especially to those who need it the most. I want my webpages to be user-friendly and inclusive, with tools that people with disabilities can use to have the best experience possible. As currently the only medical platform tool out there is a simple google search that isn’t all helpful when the information collected by google can easily be manipulated to have the misinformation be at the top of the search page. Furthermore the information presented by google is not accessible to everyone specifically to people that are blind there is no text to speech tool available, fonts for people with dyslexia making it easier to read and provide more visual aids being pictures for people with cognitive disabilities. I want to open a platform similar to Google that can accurately showcase medical studies on diseases that are facts from medical professionals that are non biased and factually based on logic and research. With several tools for accessibility to make it for everyone. Because, I believe that knowledge is power, and everyone should have access to it. As a Computer Science major at Collin County Community College District, I am committed to using technology to spread credible information. I aim to create websites that give a platform to medical professionals to share accurate information widely. That can reach people that are flooded with misinformation everyday. I want to honor my family members that were taken by such disease to educate the masses about how this disease works to minimize harmful information. With these projects I have done so far, it is preparing me for the future as a web designer to create such platforms to fight large amounts of misinformation and carve out a path that can lead people to the right facts and logic from people that have studied the field of diseases for years. I am prepared to fight for this cause for the better good of the world and to honor my fallen family members by making a positive impact. Thank you for considering my application.

Recently, I created a website for a Japanese restaurant called Sushi House Restaurant from the ground up. I found a Japanese logo with the restaurant's name and built the website around that logo. I used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to bring it to life. This was my first time using JavaScript in a project, and I was very excited to try it. The project took me around two and a half weeks to finish, and I was very impressed with how it turned out. The website was complete with a commercial, decorations, a menu, a travel brochure to highlight other locations, and an embedded Google map to help users find nearby restaurants. Of course, I encountered several problems while making the website. One issue was getting a Japanese decorative border on both sides of the website; it only appeared on one side. I solved this problem by googling different solutions and asking for help on a coding forum. Both methods helped me find a solution and smooth things out. Another issue that I encountered was that I did have issues getting the Javascript to work into the HTML and CSS. Since it was my first time working with Javascript in this project. That still didn’t deter me from figuring out how to work it into my website. Which is what happened after multiple mistakes and solutions. I was finally able to get the Javascript to work which made me so happy with myself and the fact that I didn’t give up and kept continuing to find the best solution. Working in technology inspires me to learn more about programming. I am currently still learning JavaScript, and what makes me passionate is seeing the end product turn out to be an actual, functional website that anyone can use. It makes me more interested in how coding works and how different languages work together. It is fascinating to see the coding languages work together in harmony to create something new and never seen before. Giving me the motivation to continue making more websites to unlock my true potential in web designing. Starting from the first website I made, that was a survey about animals. I don’t want it to end there and plan on learning other languages so that I can unlock features that those programming languages have that I can implement into my websites. The goal of these projects is to continue learning how I can create web pages that are easy to find, read, and understand. To make information accessible, especially to those who need it the most. I want my webpages to be user-friendly and inclusive, with tools that people with disabilities can use to have the best experience possible. I believe that knowledge is power, and everyone should have access to it. Being a rising college freshman at Collin County Community College District, majoring in Computer Science, I am eager to continue exploring the world of technology. It inspires me to do more than just create websites, I want to create websites that anyone of any abilities or disabilities can use. I want to impact the world in a way that can bring knowledgeable information to everyone. Thank you for considering my application.

    B.A.B.Y. L.O.V.E. Scholarship
My name is Jayla Craddock, and I am a rising freshman at Collin County Community College District, majoring in Computer Science and Programming. I am someone with a passion for helping others and a strong commitment to education. Throughout high school, I have dedicated my time to various volunteer activities that reflect my desire to make a difference. I embody the B.A.B.Y. L.O.V.E. spirit by spending time helping my community and others. With my heavy involvement with several clubs; Black Student Union, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, and the National Art Honor Society has taught me the importance of community and leadership. Accumulating over 20 hours of community service by getting involved in activities such as donating food for canned food drives, thanksgiving donations and food baskets. Spending time making ready to go meals for the organization ‘To Feed My Starving Children’ for kids in need. Not only committing to helping other communities but also my own community by staying after school to help my Chemistry teacher help clean up her classroom after lab experiments and putting up decorations for an end of the year Christmas party. Furthermore, by expressing my creativity by making art for many art competitions such as; Visual Artistic Scholastic Event or VASE, Congressionals and Sony’s Youth Photography Competition. I have helped bring together a community of people that either love art and or create art themselves. It brings together more than just people that love art, it brings together a community that appreciates the creativity, activism and culture that starts conversations that can turn into actual community change that can benefit the people for the better. I have a yearning heart to help others and a strong commitment to my purpose. I believe in being virtuous in all things and strive to maintain high standards in my actions. Especially in education, by maintaining a 4.0 GPA in all my 4 years of highschool, turning my assignments on time and studying. I know the importance of having a good education, it gives you the foundation to excel in other things in life. I want other people to have the same chance as well to have that strong foundation to flourish in their pathway to success. Through these experiences, I have developed a sense of responsibility and a desire to give back. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to using my skills to make an impact on the world. As I transition to college, I am committed to continuing my efforts to help my community succeed. I plan to participate in more volunteering activities with my goal to make a positive impact to not only my community but to the world as a whole. I believe that by staying true to my values and purpose, I can make a meaningful difference in the world. Thank you for considering my application.

    Book Lovers Scholarship
One book I would want everyone to read is 'Extreme Makeover' by Dan Wells. Why? It's one of the only books that had twists and turns that made me come back wanting more. The plot of the story starts normally with the reader following Lyle Fontanelle a scientist who works for a cosmetic company. Doing his day-to-day tasks with him trying to come up with a new product to compete with another cosmetic company. As the story goes on the scenes that occur in the story are very jaw-dropping and shocking, to say the least. Not to reveal too much of the story, Fontanelle faces several terrifying encounters resulting from him making a makeup product that ends up being a bioweapon, from people cloning themselves into celebrities to humans transforming into actual animals! I would describe the story as watching a car crash happen in slow motion. Yes, what happens in the story is bad but you still can't take your eyes off of it because of the amount of curiosity the reader will get. You want to see what happens at the end since at the beginning it wasn't what you were expecting and now you want to see what happens at the end. What I love about the story is just how unexpected it is with its plot. It doesn't have any tropes that have been overused in stories several times. It brings a fresh set of characters, settings, and world-building that just makes anyone not bored of it. Especially what happens in the end makes it a worthwhile read.
    Spider-Man Showdown Scholarship
One actor that I will say has affected me greatly is the most recent Spider-Man on the animated screen, Miles Morales voiced by Shameik Moore. He is the most relatable character that I have ever seen and is so influential that it's the only time when I watched something about Spider-Man. He stands out to me so much with his personality that I relate to him a lot. Especially when he has a hard time talking to his parents about his issues being Spider-Man to his parents. It resonates with me heavily as I too, have a hard time talking to my parents about certain things. Even though Mile’s parents say that common phrase “It’s ok you can tell us anything and we won’t be mad at you”. Still, it makes it hard for a teenage boy to reach out to a parental figure for help. Because Miles is scared of how his parents will react. That it may cause irreparable damage to his relationship with his parents. Which is why in the movie he is constantly trying to avoid them. He is scared of how they will feel if he tells them the truth so he keeps running from the inevitable over and over again. Something that I feel that I do as well on a somewhat daily basis.
