My interest in automotive repair started at a very young age. I grew up helping my grandfather on our family farm. Days spent in the garage working on tractors and machinery were my favorite. My mother also worked on the farm along with being in the automotive industry since 2004. She started in the accounting department and worked her way up to then become a manager of a very fast paced service department. I have spent many days at the shop with her and learning from the technicians. One of our very close family friends has the highest training possible. He is a world class master technician through Chevrolet. There are only about twenty two hundred in the world who have received this level of training. He Inspires me to work hard and follow my dream of becoming a mechanic. I have been accepted to lincoln technical in East Windsor Connecticut starting this fall. I went for a campus tour in May and was so excited to see the facility. I was very impressed at the shop, the tools available and also how knowledgeable our advisor was. I feel attending trade school will be very detrimental in pursuing my career as an automotive mechanic. I am an avid dirt track racing follower and spend countless hours working on the crate engine and 358 modified engines with very close family and friends. Our family is involved in sponsoring many and owning four cars. I want to be able to rebuild the engines one day instead of just watching. I am currently on the pit crew for three drivers. Our youngest driver is fourteen and is driving a Chevy crate 602 sportsman in the limited division. His older brother drives a crate 602 in the regular sportsman division and the most influential at the track is their father who has been a family friend since the late 90's. He drives a big block, small block and 358 modified race car. He is teaching me weekly new things to help with and some say I want to give back by helping rebuild the engines. I am the main tire technician and help with maintenance and body preparation. I currently spend hours prepping, grinding and siping tires in preparation for fonda speedway every weekend. I want to.persue my passion for racing and mechanics by becoming a trade school graduate by November 2026. Being from a small town in upstate new York, I need all the grants and scholarships I can get to help pursue my dreams to attend lincol technical
