I loved the nursing path because to its integrity.
Essentially, you're meeting individuals that need you, and you're seeing people without the trappings of polite society. People who are in distress lack the time and tolerance to deceive. They let everything hang out. It is the direct connection you have with other people as a result of your candor.
It doesn't matter what you look like, what you have, or what you don't have; the only thing that counts is that you're a human, and I love that you get to have the most genuine interactions with people. They have no thoughts about you; they have total faith in you and do not attribute any motivations to you. They just accept what you provide without inquiry. They permit affection. Assist them.
I am and always have been a person who enjoys helping others, making others feel secure, and taking care of others, and it's puzzling that people are so resistant to this fact. They assume you want something from them, are attempting to obtain something from them, or are in some manner dishonest. They just cannot accept or think that someone would care for them without any demands, expectations, or ulterior motivations. In nursing, though, I can be who I am, and that is completely appropriate and welcomed with open arms.
