Hello, my name is Jaya! I intend to pursue a degree in human biology at the University of Virginia, as I have always been interested in exploring public health strategies to improve community health. I am a student leader and advocate, using my advocacy to give back to the local community. As the founder of the Support the Cycle: Period Project, I advocated among local organizations to fund free pad dispensers and menstrual products for all young girls in my school district. Through this, I developed my research and communication skills. As the captain for my school's Science Olympiad team, I enjoy raising awareness about STEM opportunities for younger students in my community. Through my studies in human biology and public health, I hope to further give back to my community.
