Bio
Hi!
My name is Jasmine McIntosh, and I am currently a senior at La Salle Prep in Milwaukie, Oregon. My biggest goal in life is to become a well-educated and well-rounded individual through travel, unique learning opportunities, and immersion in cultures.
I am an avid reader and have been in love with books since I could walk. Along with a love for reading, I also love writing. In sophomore year I joined my school's online paper, The Falconer, and immediately found a place where I could express my ideas and inform our school community in a creative way. I also take photos and videos for our paper, which is an awesome way to grow my love for media. Photography is a hobby of mine, and I plan to continue it through college.
Additionally, I took on a leadership role junior year as an Assitant Editor for the Falconer. I earned recognition for my work, winning the Best in Category for a Personal Column in the 2023 Oregon Student Media Olympics. Finally, our publication was awarded nationally, earning 8th place in the Best of Show category at the National High School Journalism Convention.
I am a high-level track and field athlete. Since I was eight years old, I have spent countless hours training to be the best runner I can be. I've competed at the club level, and through that, have been able to travel the country and explore new places.
On my high school track team, I was voted Most Valuable Athlete in both my sophomore and junior year. Junior year I was also voted the Female Junior Athlete of the Year at my school.
I plan to continue track in college.
