Bio

Ever since I was younger, I have had a passion for justice. I’ve learned from my father, who has been an influence on my future career since he is a police officer, and my grandfather, who has pushed me to learn law. I have high hopes for college when I choose my major as criminal justice.

    Boun Om Sengsourichanh Legacy Scholarship
I want to pursue a career in law enforcement and, in college, pursue a degree in criminal justice. My dream is to serve and protect those around me. Ever since I was younger, around age nine, I was told I was a fighter. This is about me wanting to continue to grow up and fight for what is right. I have a huge heart and believe that I meet and have relationships with certain people for certain reasons. I give second chances to those who have made mistakes. No one deserves to be judged for their past and held accountable for it. I believe in rehabilitation; those who made mistakes should be allowed to move on and get back on the right path. I’ve always had a passion for this career path and would love to continue to nurture it with the facilities and opportunities I have available. Any chance I have to help my future, I’m going to take a shot in the dark and hopefully make it. This is something I want in life for myself; I was meant to do this. I can only imagine what would come from me getting a higher education in a career I so deeply care about. My father has worked in law enforcement for 20 years, and he’s still working for the city of Boca Raton. He always brings back stories of his days at work. I hear these stories and feel myself wanting to be in these situations with him. I want to help others, just like my dad. I truly believe that if I'm able to pursue a career on this path, I will be able to make a difference. I want to see a difference. The more I hear about law enforcement, the more I feel like I want to join. I want to make a difference, just like my dad does every day. Making sure people come home safely or making sure civilians stay safe. I want to go to a school with a good criminal justice program so that when I'm ready to go out in the world and deliver justice, I have the education I need. I would put this money to good use for my schooling needs, allowing me to fuel my love for all things justice-related. Thank you so much for having this scholarship as it is greatly appreciated. I hope this finds you well.
