My name is Jared Jacobs. I come from a large family located in Tonganoxie, Kansas. I have seven-half siblings, and I am the youngest. Of the eight, I am the fifth to go to college, and third to attend KU. I chose to continue my education here, because it was my dad's dream to see me walk through the Campanile of KU. He used to take me to it frequently and tell me to not walk through it until I graduated, due to a popular superstition. Then, when he passed away, I swore to myself that he would see me walk through it one day, wherever he might be watching from. I need the financial help, because my college fund that my parents started when I was born had to be used to stop my brother's house from being foreclosed on. Although, I hold no ill will on the situation, because I did not want my niece and nephew to not have a place to call home. My dream in life is to be a psychiatrist as my savy has always been helping people feel better, and I enjoy doing so. I am a good candidate for this scholarship, because not only am I a good student, but I value kindness above all, and the world could use a little bit more in my opinion.
