Hello! My name is Jaquelin Roca, and I started college in the fall of 2022. I am a first-generation student, and I am trilingual, fluent in English, Spanish, and French. I am currently committed to learning Italian. Art and medicine are my passions. I am the college ambassador for my school and also the student with the best grades. I have a natural gift for medicine and am well-known for my diversity. I’m certified in medical coding and have also been enrolled in NJROTC. One of my favorite memories from NJROTC is being named "Cadet of the Year."
Hobbies aside, I plan to major in radiography. The thrill of the unknown and finding answers where no one thought possible drives me towards science. My ultimate goal is to become a radiologist, though I currently don’t have the financial resources to pursue this path. For now, I’ve chosen radiography with the aim of helping people affected by various conditions, such as broken bones and more. Researching and contributing to advancements in treatments for these diseases is my dream.
I have completed 49 credits so far, but it has been challenging without financial support. I don’t want to give up on my dream, no matter how difficult it may seem. I remind myself that the opportunities I’ve been given are a privilege, and I must make the most of them. As challenging as they can be, I won't let financial hardship stop me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio! Have a lovely day!

When I was a child, my family often had to choose between paying the rent or going to the doctor—and no one should have to make that choice. That reality shaped who I am and why serving my community is not just important to me—it is my purpose I know what’s the importance of helping other I know how it feel when people doesn’t have the opportunity to be care.
Growing up in an undertand that helping other it was important ti me, I saw many people suffer in silence because they couldn’t afford help. I been facing so many challenges and I wish somebody can help. But it’s been impossible. I witnessed neighbors skip medications, children stay home sick because their parents couldn’t take time off work, and elders struggle without support. These moments weren’t just sad—they were eye-opening. They showed me the painful truth that access to care and opportunity is not equal. I knew even then that I wanted to be part of the solution.
To me, serving the community means stepping up when others step back. It means offering a helping hand, a kind word, or simply showing up when no one else does. My passion for healthcare was born out of a desire to do just that—to show up for the people who are often forgotten. I want to be someone who not only treats patients but understands their struggles and fights for their dignity.
My journey began with volunteering. Whether I was distributing food, tutoring younger students, or helping at local health fairs, I realized that even small acts of service can have a powerful impact. I didn’t need to have money or a fancy title to make a difference; I just needed heart and consistency. Those early experiences taught me the value of showing up—and they inspired me to dream bigger.
Now, as a student pursuing a career in healthcare, my mission is clearer than ever. I want to combine my education with my empathy to make healthcare more human, especially for those who are overlooked. I believe that true service goes beyond doing what’s required—it’s about listening, understanding, and acting with compassion. Whether it’s staying a few extra minutes to comfort a nervous patient or going out of my way to connect someone with resources, I want to be the kind of healthcare worker who treats people like people—not just cases.
But I also see service as something that should grow. In the future, I hope to take what I’ve learned and start programs that empower young people in my community—especially those from immigrant families or low-income backgrounds. I want to help them see that they, too, can become leaders, professionals, and changemakers. I didn’t have many role models who looked like me or shared my story when I was younger. I want to be that person for someone else.
Serving my community is important to me because it keeps me grounded. It reminds me of where I came from and why I started this journey in the first place. It challenges me to stay humble, stay hungry, and never lose sight of the bigger picture. I’ve learned that when you lift others up, you rise with them. And there is no better feeling than knowing you’ve made someone’s life just a little better because you cared.
In a world that can sometimes feel cold and divided, service brings people together. It builds bridges where there were once walls and plants hope where there was none. That’s

My dream is to become a doctor however, I decided to do radiography I come from Beverly low income I am a first generation and my family to attend college. I face so many difficult challenges and I can see to how many people in underserved communities to access adequate medical care. Growing up in a low-income family, healthcare was often delayed or skipped entirely due to financial limitations. I saw the emotional and physical toll this took on my family members, especially when minor health issues turned into serious problems simply because no one could afford to go to the doctor. These experiences planted a seed in me—a deep desire to be someone who could help bridge that gap and make quality healthcare more accessible to those in need. That is why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare, and specifically in the field of radiologic technology.
I am currently studying radiography because it combines two things I’m passionate about: helping people and working with technology. Radiologic technologists play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment process. We are the ones who produce the medical images that doctors depend on to make life-saving decisions. I find it incredibly meaningful to be part of that process. It’s a field that requires precision, compassion, and constant learning—qualities I see in myself and am committed to developing even further.
My interest in radiography grew even stronger when I had the chance to volunteer at a hospital. Watching how the imaging department worked gave me a clear view of the profession's importance. I saw how patients often arrived nervous or in pain, and how a skilled and kind technologist could make them feel more at ease. I realized that the job isn’t just about taking images—it’s about human connection, professionalism, and being part of a team that brings answers and relief. That’s when I knew this was the right path for me.
But my vision doesn’t end with getting a degree and working in a hospital. I want to use my degree as a stepping stone toward something even greater. In the future, I hope to combine my technical skills in radiography with my leadership and communication skills to work in healthcare education or administration. I would love to one day mentor students entering the field, especially those who come from immigrant or low-income backgrounds like mine. I know how hard it is to chase big dreams when you have limited resources, and I want to be the kind of guide and support I wish I had.
Additionally, I plan to use my career as a platform for advocacy. There is a serious need for better healthcare access in both urban and rural communities, in the United States and around the world. With experience, I hope to get involved in outreach programs that bring mobile imaging services to places that lack permanent facilities. Even a single X-ray machine, in the right hands, can save lives. I want to be one of those hands.
Choosing healthcare wasn't just a career decision—it was a life decision. I chose this field because I want to make a difference every single day, no matter how small. Whether I’m helping diagnose a broken bone, assisting with cancer detection, or simply comforting a scared patient, I know that my role matters. And with this degree, I plan to do more than just work—I plan to serve, to teach, and to lead.
Future Women In STEM Scholarship
My name is Jaquelin Roca, and I am a first-generation college student pursuing a career in healthcare. I’ve always been curious about how things work—whether it was how the human body functions, how machines operate, or how science can solve real-world problems. That curiosity, combined with my deep desire to help people, led me toward a career in a STEM field.
One personal experience that had a major impact on my interest in science and healthcare happened when I was a teenager. A close family member became seriously ill and was in and out of hospitals for several months. I remember sitting in waiting rooms, feeling helpless, watching nurses, doctors, and technicians moving quickly and confidently to care for patients. But what stood out to me most were the diagnostic images—X-rays, MRIs, CT scans—and how those images gave doctors the answers they needed to begin treatment. That was the first time I realized the powerful role science and technology play in saving lives.
I started asking questions: How do those machines work? How can you see inside the body without surgery? Who runs those machines, and what kind of training do they need? I started reading more about radiologic sciences, anatomy, and physics. I didn’t know it at the time, but that moment marked the beginning of my path into the STEM world—especially toward the medical imaging field.
As I advanced in school, I noticed that I enjoyed math and science more than any other subject. Even though some concepts were difficult, I found them fascinating. STEM isn’t just about memorizing formulas or learning theories—it’s about applying knowledge to solve problems. That idea truly resonated with me. I wanted to use science in a way that was practical, impactful, and human-centered.
Today, I’m working toward a degree in radiologic technology, with the goal of specializing in nuclear medicine. Nuclear medicine combines biology, chemistry, physics, and technology—all key branches of STEM—and uses them to diagnose and treat conditions in real time. I’m especially drawn to the fact that it involves both patient interaction and high-level scientific skill. It’s a field that constantly evolves and challenges me to grow, learn, and adapt.
Being part of a STEM field as a woman and a first-generation student also means a lot to me. I didn’t grow up around scientists or engineers. I didn’t have role models in healthcare or tech. But I had the drive to learn, and the courage to keep going, even when things got hard. That’s why I believe STEM should be accessible to everyone—especially students from underrepresented backgrounds like mine. I want to eventually mentor young people who are unsure about their place in science, to show them that if I can do it, they can too.
In conclusion, my interest in STEM was born from a personal experience that showed me the life-changing power of science. It has grown into a career path that combines compassion, curiosity, and advanced technology. I am proud to be on this journey, and I’m excited to see where it leads—not only for my own future, but for the lives I’ll touch along the way.
Nuclear Medicine Technologist Scholarship
My name is Jaquelin Roca , and I am currently a student pursuing a career in healthcare, driven by a strong desire to make a lasting impact in people’s lives. Before entering the healthcare field, I worked in customer service, where I developed strong interpersonal and communication skills. That experience helped me realize how much I enjoy helping others, listening to their needs, and providing solutions to their problems. While it wasn't in a medical setting, it laid the foundation for my passion for patient care and advocacy.
My interest in healthcare began as a result of witnessing the challenges many individuals face when seeking proper medical attention, especially those from low-income or immigrant backgrounds. I saw firsthand how access to compassionate, competent care can make a huge difference in someone’s quality of life. This inspired me to shift my focus toward a career where I could be part of that change—where I could not only be hands-on in helping people, but also be part of the evolving world of medical technology.
My introduction to nuclear medicine came during a career research project at school. I had originally considered radiography, but when I learned about nuclear medicine and how it combines technology, chemistry, biology, and patient care, I became fascinated. I was especially drawn to the idea that nuclear medicine technologists play a critical role in diagnosing and treating diseases like cancer, heart conditions, and neurological disorders. The idea of using advanced imaging and radioactive tracers to detect problems at an early stage—and possibly save lives—resonated with me deeply.
As I explored the field further, I was impressed by how precise and innovative nuclear medicine is. It goes beyond simply taking images; it requires understanding how the body functions on a cellular level. That deeper understanding of disease and the ability to track changes in real time is what makes this field so powerful. It inspired me to begin preparing academically and emotionally to one day work in this specialized, meaningful branch of healthcare.
My goal as a future nuclear medicine technologist is not just to perform tests and handle equipment, but to be a compassionate presence in patients’ lives. Many people undergoing nuclear medicine procedures are scared or overwhelmed. I want to be the kind of healthcare professional who explains the process clearly, answers questions with patience, and ensures that every patient feels safe and respected during their visit.
In the long term, I hope to contribute to the advancement of this field by continuing my education and possibly working in research or education. I believe that nuclear medicine has the potential to detect diseases earlier and treat them more effectively, and I want to be part of that mission. Whether I’m helping diagnose a condition or supporting a patient through treatment, I know that my work will have a direct impact on someone’s health and well-being.
In conclusion, my journey from customer service to healthcare has been shaped by my desire to help others and be part of something bigger than myself. Discovering nuclear medicine has given me a clear direction and a sense of purpose. I’m excited to grow in this field, and I’m committed to making a positive impact—one patient, one scan, and one diagnosis at a time.
Deborah Stevens Pediatric Nursing Scholarship
I work in home health since young age, I have always felt a deep sense of compassion and responsibility for the well-being of others. Whether it was caring for a younger sibling or helping a friend through a difficult time, I found purpose in being supportive and kind. As I grew older, this natural inclination developed into a desire to dedicate my life to a career where I could make a meaningful difference every single day. This is why I am choosing a career in nursing—and specifically, why I am drawn to pediatric nursing.
Nursing is more than a job; it is a calling. It requires dedication, empathy, critical thinking, and the ability to work under pressure. These are qualities I value and have worked hard to develop. Nurses are on the front lines of patient care. They are not only caregivers, but also educators, advocates, and emotional support systems for patients and their families. What inspires me most about nursing is its unique combination of science and human connection. It offers the chance to apply medical knowledge while building trust and relationships with people during some of their most vulnerable moments.
I am particularly interested in pediatric nursing because I have always had a natural connection with children. Their resilience, honesty, and joy are inspiring. Children have an incredible way of bringing light into even the most challenging situations. I believe that working with pediatric patients will allow me to provide not only clinical care but also emotional support to young people and their families during difficult times. Helping a sick child smile or easing a parent's anxiety would be the most fulfilling part of my work.
Pediatric nursing is also a field that requires patience, creativity, and strong communication skills. Children don’t always understand what is happening to them, and they often cannot express their feelings the same way adults can. This makes it even more important for pediatric nurses to be attuned to their needs, both spoken and unspoken. I want to be a nurse who listens carefully, who takes the time to explain things in a way children can understand, and who goes the extra mile to make a child feel safe and heard.
Additionally, I want to pursue pediatric nursing because I have seen firsthand how impactful great pediatric care can be. A close friend of mine had a child who was hospitalized with a chronic illness. The nurses who cared for her were not only medically skilled, but also compassionate, patient, and warm. They made a difficult time bearable, and their kindness left a lasting impression on the entire family. That experience opened my eyes to the profound influence a pediatric nurse can have—not just on the patient, but on the entire support system around them.
My long-term goal is to become a pediatric nurse practitioner so I can take on greater responsibility in diagnosing and treating young patients. But I know that first, I must build a strong foundation as a registered nurse.
In conclusion, I am choosing nursing because it aligns with my values and my passion for helping others. I am pursuing pediatric nursing because I want to be a source of comfort and care for children and families during some of their most difficult times. I believe that through hard work, compassion, and a commitment to lifelong learning, I can make a meaningful difference in the lives of my patients—and that is a goal worth pursuing with my whole heart.

Becoming a medical doctor is not just a dream for me—it’s a calling that has kept me going through some of the hardest moments of my life. I want to become the kind of doctor I never had growing up. A doctor who listens. A doctor who understands what it’s like to feel scared, ignored, or completely helpless in a medical setting. But right now, what stands between me and that dream is not a lack of effort or passion—it’s money.
I come from a background of struggle. I didn’t grow up with parents to guide or support me. I was raised by my uncle, who is an immigrant just trying to survive in this country. He did what he could for me, but there was never enough. Not enough money, not enough time, and not enough opportunities. I have fought every step of the way to stay in school, to keep going, and to believe that maybe one day I could wear that white coat and make a difference in people’s lives.
But the truth is, I don’t have the financial resources to become a doctor. I can barely afford college right now. I’ve worked long hours while trying to study, skipped meals to save money, and constantly worried about tuition, books, and transportation. Sometimes I sit in class wondering how I’ll make it to the next semester. I look around and see classmates who don’t have to worry about how they’ll afford lab fees or whether they’ll be able to buy groceries that week. I don’t have that privilege. All I have is hope—and a fire inside me that refuses to go out.
What keeps me going is the thought that one day, I’ll be the doctor who shows up for people like me. The ones who are used to being invisible. I’ve seen too many people in my community delay care because they don’t speak English well, don’t have insurance, or are afraid of being judged. I want to be the one who says, “I understand. I’m here to help. You matter.” My experiences have given me a heart full of compassion, and I will never forget what it feels like to need help and have nowhere to turn.
I believe that these struggles—this poverty, this pain—have shaped me into someone who will be an exceptional doctor. Not because I’m perfect, but because I know what it’s like to hurt. I know what it’s like to feel like the world is against you. And I want to use that understanding to care for every patient I meet with kindness, patience, and dignity.
It’s hard to write these words and admit that I have nothing—not because I’m not trying, but because the system wasn’t built for someone like me to succeed easily. But I’m not giving up. I just need a chance. A chance to prove that someone like me, who came from nothing, can become a doctor and change lives—including my own.
If you support me, you’re not just helping one student—you’re helping someone who will dedicate her life to helping others. I will carry every hardship, every sacrifice, and every moment of pain with me into the exam room. And I will turn it into healing.
TRAM Purple Phoenix Scholarship
As a first-generation college student and someone who has overcome many personal obstacles, I understand what it feels like to fight for a better future with limited support. I grew up without my parents and was raised by my uncle, an immigrant who worked hard to give me a chance at a different life. Those early experiences shaped my identity and gave me a deep sense of empathy, responsibility, and purpose. Now, as I work toward earning my degree in radiologic technology, I am determined to use both my education and my life story to create positive change for others, especially those who feel unseen or left behind.
My goal is to provide compassionate and culturally sensitive care in the medical field. As a future radiologic technologist, I won’t just be taking X-rays—I’ll be interacting with people during some of their most vulnerable moments. I want every patient I meet to feel heard, respected, and cared for. Growing up in an underserved community, I saw how intimidating the healthcare system can be, especially for immigrants and people who don’t speak English well. I want to be a bridge between these communities and the care they deserve. Because I speak both Spanish and English and understand the cultural challenges many face, I will be able to make patients feel more comfortable, informed, and empowered.
In addition to working directly with patients, I want to use my position in the medical field to advocate for better access to healthcare and resources. Too many people delay care because of fear, language barriers, or financial struggles. I hope to work with hospitals or clinics that focus on serving low-income populations. I also plan to educate patients about their health, medical procedures, and rights—something I wish more people had access to growing up.
Outside of healthcare, I am passionate about helping young people like me find their path. I want to mentor other students who come from similar backgrounds—first-generation students, immigrants, or those who feel like college is out of reach. I know how important it is to have someone believe in you, and I want to be that person for someone else. I plan to volunteer at schools, speak to students about careers in healthcare, and share my journey so they know they are not alone. If I can help just one student stay motivated or find the courage to pursue their dreams, that will be a success.
My personal experiences have also taught me the importance of healing and speaking up. I’ve seen the effects of emotional trauma and unhealthy relationships, and I want to use my voice to raise awareness about mental health and safety—especially for women. Whether through community events or online platforms, I want to share my story in ways that encourage others to seek help, believe in themselves, and know that their past doesn’t define their future.
In conclusion, I am not just pursuing a degree to better my own life—I’m doing it to uplift others. My education, combined with the strength I’ve gained from my personal experiences, gives me the tools to make a real difference in my community. Whether I’m comforting a patient, mentoring a student, or advocating for change, I will always work with heart, purpose, and a desire to serve. That is how I plan to use my degree and my journey—to help others rise, just as I continue to rise myself.
Noah Jon Markstrom Foundation Scholarship
The decision to pursue a career in pediatric medicine stems from a deep desire to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and their families. While I have always been drawn to healthcare, my passion for working with children developed through personal experiences, volunteer work, and my understanding of the challenges many families face in accessing quality medical care.
Growing up, I witnessed firsthand how difficult it can be for low-income families to receive proper healthcare. I saw children struggling with treatable conditions simply because their families lacked the resources or knowledge to get them the care they needed. This fueled my determination to be part of the solution—to become someone who could advocate for and provide compassionate, high-quality medical care to children regardless of their background.
One of the most defining moments that solidified my passion for pediatric medicine was my experience volunteering at local hospitals and community health programs. During these experiences, I interacted with children facing various health challenges, from chronic illnesses to minor injuries. I saw the fear in their eyes when they walked into a doctor's office and the relief they felt when someone took the time to comfort them. I realized that medicine isn’t just about diagnosing and treating—it’s about building trust, easing fears, and making a difference in a child’s life, even in the smallest ways.
Beyond my volunteer work, I have always been fascinated by the resilience of children. Unlike adults, who often dwell on their illnesses, children find ways to laugh, play, and hope, even in the face of adversity. Their strength and optimism inspire me. I want to be a doctor who not only treats their medical conditions but also supports their emotional well-being, ensuring they feel safe and cared for throughout their treatment.
My academic journey has also reinforced my passion for pediatric medicine. Studying radiography and medical billing and coding has given me a deeper understanding of how the healthcare system operates. While these fields have expanded my knowledge, I know my true calling is in direct patient care—working hands-on with children and their families to provide them with the best possible medical support.
Additionally, my personal experiences with loss and hardship have shaped my approach to medicine. Losing my father to cancer taught me the value of empathy, patience, and resilience. It made me realize that medicine goes beyond just treating symptoms—it’s about caring for the whole person and their family. Pediatric medicine, in particular, allows me to combine my love for healthcare with my desire to bring comfort and hope to families navigating some of the toughest moments of their lives.
Ultimately, I am pursuing a career in pediatric medicine because I want to be a source of healing, reassurance, and advocacy for children. I believe every child deserves compassionate and comprehensive healthcare, and I am committed to being a part of the next generation of medical professionals who will work tirelessly to ensure that happens.

Cancer has left a deep impact on my life, shaping the way I see the world and strengthening my resilience. My father passed away from cancer, and experiencing his battle firsthand was one of the most challenging and transformative experiences of my life. His diagnosis changed everything, not just for him but for our entire family. It was a journey filled with pain, uncertainty, and moments of hope, but ultimately, it taught me lessons about strength, love, and the importance of cherishing every moment.
When my father was diagnosed, I was overwhelmed by fear and confusion. I didn’t fully understand what was happening at first, but as time went on, I saw how cancer affected him physically, emotionally, and mentally. Watching someone you love endure pain and struggle with treatments that seem just as harsh as the disease itself is heartbreaking. It was difficult to accept that, despite the doctors’ efforts, there were limits to what medicine could do.
One of the hardest parts was seeing how cancer drained my father’s energy, yet he never stopped fighting. He tried to stay strong for us, even when he was in pain. Through his battle, I learned what true strength looks like—not just physical strength, but the strength to face each day with courage, even when the odds seem impossible. He taught me that resilience isn’t about never falling; it’s about getting back up, even when it hurts.
Cancer didn’t just affect my father—it changed our entire family. We had to learn to be there for each other in ways we never had before. There were moments of frustration, exhaustion, and sadness, but also moments of deep love and connection. I learned how important it is to have a strong support system, not just for the person fighting cancer but for the entire family. Caregiving is emotionally and physically draining, and I realized that even small acts of kindness—whether it was holding my dad’s hand, making him his favorite meal, or simply sitting with him in silence—meant everything.
After losing my father, I struggled with grief. There were days when the pain felt unbearable, but over time, I realized that grief is not something you move on from; it’s something you learn to carry. Instead of focusing on the loss, I try to focus on the love he gave me and the lessons he left behind. His passing pushed me to appreciate life more, to be present in every moment, and to never take my loved ones for granted.
Most importantly, my father’s journey with cancer inspired me to pursue a career in healthcare. I want to help others going through similar experiences, whether it’s by providing care, offering support, or simply being there to listen. His battle with cancer was devastating, but the love, strength, and resilience he showed continue to guide me every day.
His memory lives on in everything I do, and I carry his lessons with me always.

Watercolor painting has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. There is something truly magical about the way pigments blend and flow, creating soft transitions and unexpected textures that no other medium can replicate. The unpredictability of watercolor teaches patience and adaptability—two qualities that have influenced not only my artistic journey but also my approach to life.
My love for watercolor stems from my fascination with nature and emotion. I find that this medium allows me to capture the delicate beauty of landscapes, the serenity of water, and the vibrancy of flowers with an ethereal quality. Beyond that, watercolor enables me to express emotions in an abstract yet meaningful way, where colors and shapes convey feelings words cannot.
While I am deeply passionate about art, my intended career path is in radiography. At first glance, the two fields may seem unrelated, but I believe they are deeply connected. Both require a keen eye for detail, precision, and an appreciation for subtle variations—whether in shading and tone in a painting or in reading medical images. As a future radiographer, I will rely on my observational skills and ability to interpret visuals accurately, much like I do when creating art. Additionally, I see art as a therapeutic outlet, one that I can integrate into my future work, perhaps by bringing creative projects into patient care settings to promote healing.
My Watercolor Paintings
1. "Ethereal Bloom"
This painting was inspired by the resilience of nature. I used soft blues and pinks to create a dreamy, almost surreal floral composition. Flowers, to me, represent growth and renewal, reminding us that even in difficult circumstances, beauty can emerge.
2. "Reflections of Serenity"
This piece captures a quiet lakeside at dusk, where the sky melts into the water. I painted it during a time of reflection, using gentle purples and oranges to convey peace and introspection. It symbolizes the importance of stillness and finding clarity in chaos.
Both of these paintings reflect my emotions and my appreciation for the natural world. While my career will focus on radiography, art will always be a core part of my identity, serving as both a creative passion and a source of balance in my life.

One of the most influential people in my life is my uncle. He took me in when my parents abandoned me and gave me the support and encouragement I needed to succeed. Despite facing many hardships as an immigrant, he never gave up on his dreams and worked tirelessly to provide for me. His resilience, work ethic, and unwavering belief in education inspired me to pursue higher education and push myself beyond my limits.
How My Uncle Inspired My Educational Journey
Growing up, I didn’t have the same privileges as many of my peers. My uncle worked long hours to ensure I had a roof over my head and food on the table. He often told me that education was the key to a better future and encouraged me to take my studies seriously. Watching him work so hard, despite the obstacles, motivated me to excel in school.
He always emphasized the importance of independence and self-reliance. Seeing his sacrifices made me determined to build a future where I wouldn’t have to struggle the way he did. His words stayed with me, and whenever I faced challenges, I reminded myself of his perseverance. Because of him, I developed a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to achieving my goals.
My decision to pursue a career in radiologic technology stems from my desire to give back to my community, just as my uncle gave me the opportunity to thrive. I want to be in a field where I can help others, provide quality care, and make a difference in people’s lives.
My Motivation for Speech and Debate
Beyond my academic goals, I also wanted to challenge myself in areas where I lacked confidence. Growing up, I struggled with expressing my thoughts clearly, especially in English. Participating in speech and debate gave me an opportunity to improve my communication skills, build confidence, and learn how to articulate my ideas effectively.
I was initially hesitant to join because I was afraid of speaking in front of others. However, I quickly realized that speech and debate were more than just competitions—they were opportunities for personal growth. The experience taught me how to think critically, argue persuasively, and stand up for what I believe in.
Additionally, mock trial sparked my interest in understanding different perspectives and defending positions with logical reasoning. The skills I gained from these activities have not only helped me academically but have also prepared me for my future career. In healthcare, effective communication is essential, and I know that my experience in speech and debate will help me become a better professional.
Conclusion
My uncle’s determination and sacrifice have been my biggest inspiration in pursuing higher education. His story reminds me every day of the importance of resilience and hard work. At the same time, speech and debate have given me the confidence and skills necessary to succeed in my academic and professional journey. Through these experiences, I have learned to believe in myself and embrace challenges as opportunities

Overcoming Challenges with Resilience
Navigating college without the guidance of experienced family members has been challenging. I have had to figure out financial aid, course selection, and career planning on my own. However, these challenges have made me stronger and more resourceful.
Instead of letting obstacles hold me back, I actively seek out mentors, ask questions, and take advantage of every available resource. My ability to adapt and persist despite difficulties has prepared me for the demands of the medical field, where problem-solving and resilience are essential.
A Commitment to Giving Back

I started these businesses because I saw a demand for quality services in these industries and knew I had the skills and determination to succeed.
In home care, I aim to provide compassionate non-medical assistance to individuals who need support with daily living. This business aligns with my healthcare background and allows me to give back to my community. In construction, I leverage my experience as a general contractor to provide reliable and professional services. These businesses are not just about making money—they are about creating jobs, improving lives, and contributing to my local economy.
Why I Will Succeed as an Entrepreneur
Many businesses fail due to lack of preparation, poor management, or fear of taking risks. I believe I will succeed because of my strong work ethic, adaptability, and willingness to learn. My approach to business includes:
Continuous Learning – I actively seek knowledge, whether through formal education, mentorship, or hands-on experience.
Resilience – Challenges do not discourage me; they motivate me to find solutions.
Strategic Planning – I take calculated risks and plan carefully to ensure long-term success.
Passion and Purpose – My businesses are driven by a genuine desire to serve my community, not just profit.

Our Destiny Our Future Scholarship
believe that a positive impact on the world starts with a combination of hard work, compassion, and the desire to serve others. Growing up in a low-income immigrant family, I have seen firsthand the challenges that people face when they don’t have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. These experiences have shaped my personal and professional aspirations, and I am determined to use my education, skills, and experiences to make a meaningful difference in my community and beyond.
One of the ways I plan to make a positive impact is by working in the healthcare field, specifically as a radiologic technologist. Access to medical care and diagnostic services can be a major barrier for low-income communities, particularly those who are uninsured or underinsured. As someone who has been deeply affected by these systemic issues, I feel a strong calling to ensure that underserved populations receive the same level of care as anyone else. By specializing in radiography, I aim to be part of a system that helps detect and treat health issues early, improving the quality of life for individuals who might otherwise go untreated.
Beyond providing medical services, I also want to use my knowledge to educate others about the importance of preventative care. In many communities, there is a lack of awareness about health issues, which can lead to preventable diseases going undiagnosed and untreated. By organizing health education workshops and offering free screenings, I hope to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and encourage healthier lifestyles. These initiatives would not only help improve health outcomes but also empower individuals to take control of their health and make informed decisions.
In addition to my work in healthcare, I also plan to create a business that focuses on providing care for elderly individuals, especially those in low-income communities. The elderly are often vulnerable and can face isolation, neglect, and poor healthcare access. I want to establish a company that provides compassionate care services, such as assistance with daily activities, companionship, and medical support, all while ensuring that the care is affordable and accessible. Through this business, I aim to improve the quality of life for seniors and ease the burden on families who may not have the resources to care for their loved ones.
Ultimately, I want to create a legacy of service and compassion. My journey as a first-generation college student and the challenges I’ve overcome have given me a unique perspective on the importance of access to care and the value of giving back. I am committed to using my education and experiences to improve the lives of those who are often overlooked and marginalized, especially in the areas of healthcare and elderly care. I want to be a role model for others, particularly first-generation students and those from immigrant backgrounds, and show them that despite the challenges, they can achieve their dreams and make a positive impact on the world.

Witnessing his sacrifices and resilience has been my greatest motivation. I learned the value of hard work and perseverance from him, and I apply those lessons every day as I balance school, work, and personal responsibilities.
Currently, I work overnight shifts to support myself while attending college. The income I earn is barely enough to cover my basic living expenses, let alone my tuition and school supplies. Balancing work and school is extremely challenging, and there are times when I feel overwhelmed by stress and exhaustion. However, I remain determined because I know that education is the key to a better future—not just for myself, but for the people I hope to serve through my career.
This scholarship would mean so much to me because it would alleviate some of the financial burden I face and allow me to focus more on my studies. As someone who has overcome many obstacles, I want to be an example to others that success is possible despite difficult circumstances. I hope to inspire and mentor other first-generation students and show them that their dreams are within reach.
In conclusion, this scholarship would be a lifeline for me as I continue my education and work toward my goals. Dounya Irrgang Scholarship for College Reading Materials
As a first-generation college student from a low-income background, my educational journey has been shaped by perseverance, sacrifice, and the constant drive to overcome obstacles. Growing up, I always dreamed of achieving more than my circumstances allowed, but I knew the path to success would not be easy. My family’s financial struggles and the responsibility of paving my own way have made this journey both rewarding and incredibly challenging.
One of the biggest challenges I face is balancing work and school. Coming from a low-income family, I don’t have the luxury of focusing solely on my studies. I work overnight shifts to support myself, and the money I make is barely enough to cover my expenses, let alone my college tuition. Despite working long hours, I still find myself stressed about how I’ll pay for school. The constant pressure of balancing work, finances, and academics often leaves me physically and mentally drained, making it difficult to focus entirely on my education.
Being a first-generation student adds another layer of complexity to my journey. Without a family member who has navigated college, I’ve had to figure out everything on my own, from financial aid applications to time management strategies. It’s been a steep learning curve, and at times, the weight of responsibility feels overwhelming. However, I’ve learned to embrace these challenges as opportunities for growth, and they’ve motivated me to push forward even when the odds feel stacked against me.
Despite these difficulties, my goals keep me grounded and determined. Attending college is incredibly important to me because it represents more than just a degree—it’s a chance to break the cycle of poverty and create a better future for myself and my family. My goal is to become a radiologic technologist, a career that will allow me to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare field. I want to ensure that underserved populations, like the one I grew up in, have access to quality diagnostic care. This work is deeply personal to me because I know what it’s like to feel overlooked and powerless in the face of systemic barriers.
In addition to achieving financial stability, attending college is important to me because it’s a way to honor the sacrifices of my immigrant family. My uncle, who raised me, worked tirelessly to provide for me despite his own struggles as an immigrant. His determination and resilience inspire me every day to work just as hard to succeed.
While my journey has been stressful and full of obstacles, it has also taught me valuable lessons about resilience, discipline, and the power of education. My circumstances have shaped me into a stronger and more determined individual, and I’m committed to using my education to create opportunities not just for myself, but for others in my community. Attending college is more than a personal dream—it’s my way of creating a better future and leaving a lasting impact on the world.
Pushing Our Scholars Forward
There are several reasons why I chose to enroll in my current radiography program at Essex County College, but the most important is my desire to make a difference in healthcare and serve my community. As a first-generation college student from a low-income, immigrant family, I understand the challenges of accessing quality medical care. I chose this program because it equips me with the skills and knowledge to contribute to the healthcare field while also providing me with a pathway to a stable and meaningful career.
One of the key reasons I was drawn to radiography is its vital role in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. Imaging techniques like X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs are essential in modern medicine, yet access to these technologies is often limited for underserved populations. By becoming a radiologic technologist, I hope to bridge that gap by working in healthcare settings that prioritize equitable access to diagnostic services. My ultimate goal is to use my education to ensure that no one is denied the care they need, regardless of their financial status or background.
Enrolling in this program is also deeply personal. Growing up in a low-income household, I saw how financial struggles and limited resources impacted not only my family but also the larger immigrant community. These experiences instilled in me a sense of responsibility to give back and advocate for those who are often overlooked by the healthcare system. My education is my way of breaking the cycle of poverty while creating opportunities to uplift others.
The knowledge I gain through this program will benefit society in multiple ways. Beyond providing high-quality imaging services, I aim to educate patients about the importance of preventive care and early detection. Many illnesses, when caught early, can be treated more effectively, improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs. I also plan to mentor others in my community, encouraging them to pursue careers in healthcare and demonstrating that, with hard work and determination, success is possible despite challenges.
Balancing work and college has been one of the most challenging aspects of my journey. As a low-income student, I have no choice but to work to support myself and help cover my educational expenses. This dual responsibility has taught me the importance of time management, resilience, and prioritization. There have been times when long work hours left me physically and mentally drained, making it difficult to focus on my studies. However, these challenges have also motivated me to work even harder, knowing that my sacrifices today will lead to a brighter future.
While working and studying simultaneously is not easy, it has shaped me into a stronger, more disciplined individual. It has reinforced my commitment to my education and reminded me why I started this journey in the first place—to create a better life for myself and to serve others. By overcoming these obstacles, I am proving to myself and others that circumstances do not define potential, and I am determined to use my acquired knowledge to make a lasting impact on society.
Women in STEM and Community Service Scholarship
There are many global and local issues I feel passionate about, but the ones that resonate most deeply with me are healthcare inequities and the challenges faced by vulnerable populations, particularly the elderly and underserved communities. Growing up as part of an immigrant family, I witnessed firsthand the struggles of accessing quality medical care. These experiences ignited a desire within me to address these issues and create a better future through my skills and education in healthcare.
Locally, one of the most pressing issues is the lack of affordable and accessible healthcare for low-income families. Many people delay seeking medical attention because of financial concerns, leading to worsening conditions that could have been prevented. This issue is particularly apparent in immigrant communities, where language barriers, fear of discrimination, and limited resources create additional obstacles. I am passionate about addressing these barriers and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background or financial status, can access the care they need.
Globally, I am deeply concerned about the neglect of elderly populations. Around the world, seniors face challenges such as loneliness, neglect, and inadequate medical care. As populations age, the demand for compassionate and specialized care for older individuals is growing, but resources are often insufficient. I believe every individual deserves to age with dignity, surrounded by support and care.
My education in radiography and my background in healthcare give me the tools to tackle these challenges. Radiography plays a crucial role in diagnosing and treating medical conditions, and I plan to use my expertise to improve access to diagnostic imaging for underserved communities. Early detection of illnesses can save lives and reduce the long-term financial burden on families, and I want to ensure these life-saving technologies are available to all.
In addition to my radiography work, I plan to establish a business that focuses on providing care for elderly individuals. This company will offer services such as companionship, assistance with daily tasks, and medical support. By creating personalized care plans and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, I want to improve the quality of life for seniors and alleviate the burdens faced by their families.
Beyond providing care, I also envision working on community outreach programs to educate individuals about the importance of preventive care and healthy living. Many health issues can be mitigated or avoided entirely with proper education and early intervention. By organizing workshops, health fairs, and free screening events, I hope to empower communities with the knowledge and resources they need to take control of their health.
Ultimately, my goal is to combine my skills, education, and passion to make a meaningful impact on the world. I want to address healthcare inequities, advocate for the needs of vulnerable populations, and create opportunities for others to thrive. Whether it’s through improving access to diagnostic imaging, caring for the elderly, or empowering communities with knowledge, I am determined to contribute to a future where everyone has the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life.

PrimePutt Putting Mat Scholarship for Women Golfers
My name is Jaquelin, and I take pride in my accomplishments as a first-generation student, While my academic pursuits are a cornerstone of my life, I also enjoy playing golf, a sport that has taught me valuable lessons about resilience, patience, and self-discipline. Golf is not only a source of enjoyment for me but also a means of personal growth, allowing me to conquer obstacles both on and off the course.
I enjoy playing golf for a multitude of reasons. One of the primary attractions of the game is its ability to create a serene yet competitive environment. Standing on the course, surrounded by greenery, I find an unparalleled sense of peace and focus. Each stroke requires careful consideration and precision, which challenges me to stay calm and collected. Golf is a sport that demands mental fortitude, and I relish the opportunity to strategize and execute my shots under varying conditions. Beyond the personal satisfaction of improving my game, golf has also been a social activity where I’ve built connections and shared memorable experiences with other players.
Golf has also taught me life lessons that I apply in my personal and professional endeavors. The sport emphasizes patience—something I’ve needed as a radiography tech student tackling challenging coursework. On the golf course, success is not immediate; it comes after hours of practice and reflection. This principle resonates with my academic journey, where I’ve learned to embrace the process of growth. Additionally, the sport has helped me develop a stronger sense of resilience. Every missed shot is an opportunity to recalibrate and try again, a mindset that has helped me overcome obstacles in life.
As a female golfer, I’ve faced challenges that have shaped my character and strengthened my resolve. Golf has traditionally been a male-dominated sport, and as a woman, I’ve had to confront stereotypes and biases. In some instances, I’ve been underestimated or had my abilities questioned simply because of my gender. Early in my golfing journey, this skepticism fueled self-doubt, making it difficult for me to stay confident on the course. However, I refused to let these challenges define me.
One of the ways I overcame these obstacles was by focusing on my skills and consistency. Rather than allowing external opinions to affect my performance, I dedicated myself to mastering the technical aspects of the game. I spent countless hours practicing my swing, studying the physics of the sport, and improving my mental game. Over time, my results began to speak for themselves, earning me respect from both peers and competitors.
Another challenge I faced was the lack of visibility and resources for female golfers. In comparison to male players, women often receive less recognition and fewer opportunities to participate in tournaments or access quality coaching. To overcome this, I actively sought out communities and mentors who were committed to fostering inclusion in the sport. Joining networks of female golfers provided me with encouragement and a sense of belonging, proving that the challenges we face can be mitigated through solidarity.
Golf has become much more than a recreational activity for me; it is a platform for personal development and empowerment. The obstacles I’ve faced as a female golfer have reinforced my belief in the power of persistence and self-confidence. Whether I’m working toward becoming a radiography professional or refining my skills on the course, golf has equipped me with the tools to navigate life’s challenges. As I continue to play, I look forward to inspiring other young women to embrace the sport and recognize their potential to succeed in any field.

Growing up without the support of my parents, I faced emotional and financial challenges that have shaped who I am today. My mother abandoned me at a young age, and I was raised by my uncle, who did his best to provide for me. The absence of a stable support system and the financial instability I faced often triggered anxiety. I found it hard to cope with the overwhelming emotions, especially with the constant pressure of trying to succeed despite the circumstances. These struggles have not only shaped my mental health but also influenced my educational journey.
Throughout my academic life, anxiety has been a barrier that has made many tasks feel overwhelming. It has affected my ability to focus in class, participate in group activities, and even interact with my peers. I feared judgment and failure, which often led to self-doubt. Sandra West ALS Foundation Scholarship
As a child who was raised without my parents, I faced numerous challenges growing up. My mother abandoned me at a young age, and I was raised by my uncle for many years. This experience was difficult in many ways, and I quickly learned to navigate life without the support of my parents. While my uncle did his best to provide for me, we lived in a financially strained environment. The challenges of living in poverty made it difficult to access basic needs, let alone pursue educational opportunities.
Adding to the complexity of my life was the reality of my mother’s battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Although I did not live with her, I witnessed the emotional and financial toll ALS took on our family. My mother’s condition created a significant strain, not just emotionally but also financially, as medical bills piled up, and resources were stretched thin. I saw how ALS could impact not only the person with the diagnosis but also their loved ones. It was heartbreaking to see my mother suffer from a disease that took away her independence, and as much as I wanted to help, my financial limitations held me back.
This experience of growing up without my parents and seeing the effects of ALS in my family has shaped my determination and resilience. Despite the challenges I faced, I never gave up on my education. I encountered many obstacles along the way, from struggling to pay for school supplies to navigating a broken healthcare system. However, I have always been motivated by the belief that education is the key to breaking generational cycles and creating opportunities for myself and my family. I am passionate about using my education to help others, just as I have witnessed the need for better healthcare services in my own life.
In conclusion, the difficulties I faced growing up without my parents and witnessing the impact of ALS in my family have fueled my determination to succeed. I have encountered challenges, but I have never given up. Now, I am working hard to complete my degree in radiography, and a scholarship would provide the support I need to continue on this path. It would not only ease my financial burden but also bring me closer to my goal of making a meaningful difference in healthcare, particularly for those in under-resourced communities.
With the support, I can continue working toward my goal.
Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
One technology that deeply inspires me is medical imaging, specifically radiography. As a student in radiography technology, I find myself captivated by how this technology has revolutionized healthcare. It allows doctors to look inside the human body without the need for invasive procedures. This has proven to be an invaluable tool in diagnosing a wide range of conditions, from fractures to more complex diseases like cancer. Medical imaging provides a safer, faster, and more effective way to detect and treat health issues, ultimately saving lives.
Medical imaging, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds, has dramatically changed the way we approach healthcare. Early detection through these imaging techniques allows doctors to diagnose diseases like cancer, heart disease, and infections before symptoms even appear. This not only improves the chances of successful treatment but also gives patients a better quality of life. For example, in the case of sepsis, which can be life-threatening if not treated quickly, imaging can help identify the infection’s source, enabling physicians to start treatment earlier and improve outcomes.
What inspires me most about medical imaging is its potential to reach underserved communities. Many people in underprivileged areas struggle to access healthcare due to financial barriers, limited infrastructure, or geographical isolation. However, medical imaging has the ability to bridge that gap by providing quick and accurate diagnoses that help save lives. As a future radiography technologist, I am motivated by the opportunity to use this technology to make healthcare more accessible, particularly for those who are often overlooked by the traditional healthcare system. The ability to offer such advanced diagnostic capabilities to vulnerable populations is something that drives my passion for this field.
Ultimately, medical imaging represents a perfect example of how technology can positively impact healthcare, improving both individual and global health outcomes. It offers hope for better treatment options, more efficient care, and greater accessibility to those in need. I am excited to be part of a profession that embraces such transformative technology, and I look forward to contributing to its continued evolution in the future.
With the support of scholarships, I can continue working toward my goal of providing healthcare to underserved communities and making a meaningful impact in the field of radiography.
Begin Again Foundation Scholarship
I am a Guatemalan woman currently pursuing a degree in radiography technology, driven by a deep passion for healthcare and a strong desire to help those in underresourced communities. My journey to becoming a radiographer is rooted in personal experience and a commitment to making a meaningful impact. While I have not personally experienced sepsis, my studies in healthcare and the challenges I’ve observed in my own community have fueled my determination to help those suffering from conditions like sepsis. Through this, I aim to not only learn but also provide early diagnosis and care to those who may be at risk for such life-threatening conditions.
Sepsis is a severe and often deadly response to infection that can be difficult to detect and treat, especially in individuals with underlying health conditions or limited access to healthcare. I’ve learned that sepsis can develop rapidly, leading to organ failure, and can be fatal if not treated promptly. This makes early detection through diagnostic imaging and laboratory testing crucial. As a radiography student, I understand how imaging plays a vital role in identifying conditions like sepsis, which may not always be immediately apparent through physical exams alone. Timely diagnostic procedures, including imaging, can be lifesaving by helping physicians recognize sepsis before it progresses to more severe stages.
While my personal experience with sepsis has been indirect, I have seen the impact of inadequate medical care in my community. Many individuals in underprivileged areas face significant barriers to access, whether due to financial limitations, lack of healthcare infrastructure, or language and cultural differences. These barriers often lead to delays in diagnosis and treatment, especially for conditions like sepsis, where early intervention is key. In my own family, I’ve witnessed the frustration of navigating a healthcare system that seems to work against those without resources. This has only solidified my commitment to making healthcare more accessible and efficient for underserved individuals.
As I continue my education in radiography, I am focused on acquiring the skills necessary to make a difference in the lives of people vulnerable to severe infections like sepsis. I recognize the importance of clear communication with patients, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and ensuring that accurate imaging is part of the diagnostic process. Sepsis often goes undiagnosed until it is in its advanced stages, which can significantly reduce the chances of survival. As a radiography technologist, I aim to support early identification through imaging that helps doctors quickly pinpoint infections and determine the next steps for treatment.
I am particularly passionate about the role that imaging plays in saving lives, especially in underserved communities where risks like sepsis are heightened due to delayed care. In these communities, individuals may not have the financial means to seek medical help until it’s too late, at which point conditions like sepsis may already have reached critical levels. This makes it even more crucial for healthcare providers, including radiographers, to proactively identify signs of infections early and ensure that patients receive timely medical intervention.
While I haven’t personally faced the trauma of sepsis, my experiences in healthcare have strengthened my resolve to serve others. By becoming a radiography technologist, I aim to bridge the gap between those in need of care and the essential services that improve health outcomes. Through early detection and proactive care, I hope to create a better healthcare system for all, especially those in underprivileged communities.
Francis E. Moore Prime Time Ministries Scholarship
As a Guatemalan girl determined to be the first in my family to graduate from college. My journey toward earning a degree in radiography technology is deeply personal, driven by the desire to break generational cycles of poverty and hardship, and to create pathways for others who are also from underresourced backgrounds. I am asking for this scholarship not just to support my education, but to help me make a lasting difference in my community and beyond.
Growing up in a family where resources were scarce and opportunities even scarcer, I have always been aware of the limitations imposed by financial hardship. I never being in family and my opportunities where struggle, particularly when it came to seeking quality medical,
I was often forced to rely on limited. This reality sparked my passion for pursuing a career in healthcare—specifically radiography—because it offers an opportunity to directly impact individuals who are underserved.
It is clear to me that my education will not only benefit me but will allow me to give back to those who are too often ignored by the mainstream medical system. When I graduate and begin working as a radiography technologist, I hope to bring essential services to communities like the one I grew up in—communities that face disproportionate barriers to healthcare. Radiography is not just about taking X-rays or imaging; it’s about using technology to diagnose and treat people who may otherwise go untreated. For these individuals, access to diagnostic services is often out of reach due to financial, geographical, or cultural barriers. Being able to bridge that gap and provide quality healthcare.
However, the path to becoming a radiography technologist has not been easy, and I recognize that I cannot achieve this dream alone. I am applying for this scholarship because it is essential for me to continue my studies and fulfill my potential. The financial burden of college is overwhelming, and without this support, I will face difficulties in completing my education. This scholarship is not just an opportunity for me to reduce my financial burden; it is a chance for me to stay on track with my goals, focus on my studies, and ultimately achieve my dream of becoming a healthcare professional who can serve and uplift others.
One of the driving forces behind my desire to succeed in my education is my deep commitment to breaking generational cycles of poverty and creating opportunities for others who face similar challenges. I believe that education is the most powerful tool to create change in the world. By completing my degree in radiography, I can become part of the solution to the healthcare disparities that exist in our country. My goal is to serve those who are most in need, particularly people from communities that lack access to quality medical services.
When I look at the healthcare system today, I see a profound need for professionals who are committed to serving underserved populations. According to studies, people from low-income communities are less likely to receive timely medical attention, and this can often lead to worsened health outcomes. As a radiography technologist, I can play a crucial role in helping these individuals by providing them with the diagnostic imaging they need to detect health issues early and prevent them from becoming more serious. I want to be a part of a solution that offers people better care, more accurate diagnoses, and improved health outcomes, especially for those who cannot afford or access medical services easily.
The importance of accessible healthcare cannot be overstated. In many underresourced communities, healthcare is either unavailable or prohibitively expensive. Too many people suffer from undiagnosed conditions because they cannot afford an X-ray or other necessary medical tests. I know firsthand how devastating it can be to watch family members struggle with health issues without the ability to seek the medical attention they need. It is this experience that fuels my passion for radiography and drives me to pursue a career where I can directly help others facing similar challenges.
Achieving my educational goals is not just about me—it’s about what I can do for my family, my community, and the countless others who will benefit from my education and the services I can provide as a healthcare professional. When I succeed in obtaining my degree, I will be able to inspire others in my community to believe in their own potential and pursue their own dreams, despite the barriers they may face. I want to prove that regardless of where you come from or how difficult your circumstances are, education can change your life and the lives of those around you.
I am determined to create opportunities for those who are underserved, and I firmly believe that by becoming a radiography technologist, I can help eliminate the barriers that many face in accessing quality healthcare. In conclusion, my pursuit of a degree in radiography. By achieving my educational goals, I will not only fulfill my own dreams but also make a difference in the lives of countless others. This scholarship is the key that will unlock the doors to my future and help me bring about positive change in the world.
Thank you for considering my application and for your commitment to supporting students who are determined to make a difference.
Freddie L Brown Sr. Scholarship
One morning, I decided to make myself a cup of coffee, but in my sleepy haze, I somehow mixed up the sugar and salt containers. Without realizing it, I made myself a salty cup of coffee and took a sip. The first taste hit my tongue, and my brain immediately went into “what just happened?” mode. I blinked, thinking maybe it was just a weird flavor from the coffee beans. But no, the second sip confirmed it: this was not coffee. This was a cup of sadness, disappointment, and very questionable choices.
I thought, “Okay, no big deal. I’ll just dump it and make a fresh cup.” But then, I realized something—I didn’t have time for another round of coffee-making. I had to get to work, and this salty disaster was all I had. So, in true fashion, I powered through the cup of coffee, as one does when life hands them a bitter, salty situation.
By the end of it, I felt a mix of pride and regret. I had “conquered” the salty coffee, but I also knew I’d never forget that morning. Now, every time I make coffee, I double-check my sugar and salt containers, and I’ve learned a valuable lesson: the difference between a good day and a bad one might just come down to the contents of your coffee cup. Get a scholarship could help to get no stress.
I got I picture of my as baby and feels like the cup of coffee.
