Hello! My name is Janna Jacob and I am an incoming Physician Assistant student set to graduate in 2028. I graduated from Stony Brook University in May 2024, where I was awarded Dean's List in nearly all semesters and a Summa Cum Laude distinction. I will be attending Pace University's PA program full-time, where I will undergo rigorous training. My goal is to become a PA who is culturally competent, compassionate, and an active listener–increasing healthcare accessibility by providing high-quality care in my community. I look forward to becoming a lifelong learner in the field of medicine. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend my program; however, I will be seeking federal loans to cover the full cost of my tuition, as personal savings will not be enough. Additionally, I will be losing my sole source of income due to the program's time restrictions, in which I will attend class Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. Scholarships would greatly ease this burden so I can focus on academically and professionally performing to my best ability. In my free time, I enjoy journaling and scrapbooking, listening to various genres of music, learning how to play guitar, and most of all, spending time with my friends and family, whether it be eating at new restaurants or watching shows and movies with them.   I engaged with elderly patients with dementia in a personable manner through weekly virtual calls, fostering a meaningful relationship. I redirected attention in elderly persons with dementia to current topics, adhering to care protocols.
