My name is Jamyah Dumas, I am currently a senior at Central High School located in Macon, Georgia. I am also a Dual Enrollment student attending Central Georgia Technical College. When I graduate in May 2025, I will be attending Albany State University earning my Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
I’m a hardworking, intelligent, and determined young lady. I’ve always had the mindset to go the extra mile for anything I put my mind to. During high school, I maintained a 3.7 GPA which got me into the National Honor Society, NSHSS, and Beta Club. While I was in high school I participated in extracurriculars such as dance ensemble, orchestra ensemble, Honor Orchestra, FBLA, DECA, leadership classes, cheer, and student-led teams. I participated in many dance techniques such as West African, Liturgical, Contemporary, and Ballet over 11 years.
While in high school, I always made sure I had something to do so I also spent a lot of time volunteering. I did many parks and garden cleanings, helped elders, was a teaching assistant to 3-5-year-old ballet, tap, and jazz, read to toddlers, cleaned and organized the Tubman Museum and so much more. Volunteering gave me the satisfaction of finding things I love to do while helping anyone in need. Once I graduate from high school in May 2025 I plan to attend a 4 year HBCU to further my education in accounting.
During college, I still want to be active with volunteering so I can still explore what I like best while helping others in the process. Being an accountant major means that I will continue to work with people and more involving numbers study. I've always enjoyed working with numbers. I was placed in many advanced mathematics classes I also started College Algebra and Precal in high school.
My education and future is very important for me. Going to college and getting a Bachelor will be the start of my career. After I graduate from college I plan on starting Real Estate classes to further my education in multiple careers. My goals after college for me are to be financially stable and happy with the career pathway of my choice. I always want to be able to provide for my family and those who helped me along the way.
Thank you to my family and support system and most importantly God, I am the intelligent, inspirational, hardworking, outgoing, determined young lady today.
