As a life-long member of the Hector First Baptist Church, I have had many phenomenal women teach, and show, me the love of a good teacher, and the love of God. I have tried to also set an example of a loving teacher while assisting for several years with our Sunday School classrooms. I also enjoy teaching the smaller children during our yearly Vacation Bible School services. The little children love to learn the new dances to the new songs every year. I also try to teach the love of God every summer when I volunteer at Day Camp for Camp Caudle Christian Camp in Scottsville, AR. Since I was 8, I have attended camp every summer. Like my mother and grandmother before me. For the last four summers I have also volunteered during the summer for the Day Camp (children under 8). Each summer brings new kids, with new eagerness and excitement for learning all about God's word. This past summer was the best of all. My little sister, who also attends camp every summer, chose to dedicate her life to the Lord and was baptized! It was a very special day! After so many wonderful experiences teaching and assisting in my church community, I plan to further my education by obtaining an Early Childhood Development and Education degree. My ultimate goal is to open my own day care/pre-school with an emphasis on the Lord. I believe the wonderful teachers I have had over the years have impressed upon me the importance of having loving, caring teachers who want only the best for their students. I believe my faith has impacted my life, because as a teenager in the 21st century, there are many things we face every day that are confusing and can easily lead us away from the Lord. With the help of my teachers, and the guidance of the Church, I have been able to learn how to handle many things that others cannot. I want to be able to pass this knowledge forward. I want to help other children learn how to grow and become mature in this world with God as their guide. If we start this education early, like I did, then they will be able to carry it with them for their whole lives. This is how I plan to use my faith for the future.
