Losing my mom when I was just 4 years old was a life-changing event that shaped much of who I am today. Growing up in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, surrounded by a close-knit community and the beauty of the Midwest, I found comfort and inspiration in music, especially through my involvement in the Pride of the Hill Marching Band. Music became a way for me to express my emotions and find solace during difficult times.
As I went through school, my passion for science grew stronger, leading me to become fascinated by the natural world, particularly minerals and rocks. This fascination has driven me to pursue a career as a mineralogist. I aim to work in research institutions, universities, or industries related to mining and geology, focusing on sustainable mining practices and the responsible use of mineral resources to create a more sustainable future.
My grief recovery journey has taught me the importance of resilience and perseverance. Despite the challenges, I have learned to channel my emotions into my passions and use them as a source of strength. My goal is to raise awareness about the importance of mineralogy and geology, inspiring others to appreciate the natural world and understand the crucial role minerals play in everyday life.
In the future, I plan to attend Boise State University to further my education and gain the knowledge and skills needed to excel in my field.
