Hi, I’m Jamie! A future traveling veterinarian dedicated to turning compassion, resilience, and lived adversity into global animal welfare impact.
I am a first-generation Mexican-American looking to achieve my childhood dream and make my mother proud. I am bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English language. I became emancipated at the age of 17 since my mother suffered a stroke and I had to step up to provide for myself. These experiences have shaped my independence and determination to build a future that breaks cycles. I am pursuing a future as a traveling veterinarian so I can work globally and help animals in underserved and crisis regions where veterinary access is limited. My education is not just for myself — I also intend become an example to other young Mexican girls like myself and prove that it is absolutely possible to make your dream career come true.
Scholarships will greatly and directly help bridge my financial gap so I can continue my degree without sacrificing my ability to support myself. I am committed to becoming a veterinarian, and any help along the way is greatly appreciated!
