I’ve always had a curiosity for technology. I can remember my mom scolding me as a child for sneaking into my dad's toolbox for his tools to take apart my battery-operated toys one by one. My parents nurtured this pattern of behavior and supported many projects I curated over the years. By age 14, I created my first major project modifying my skateboard by adding a small, battery-operated and remote-controlled motor to the base. I can remember the adrenaline rush as I gained a max speed of 21 mph. The following year, I modified and welded 2 bikes together to create a trike, then added a battery-operated motor controlled by throttle and brake; max speed 24 mph. Amongst other things, I’ve done auto mechanic and handyman work, built surround sound speakers, and a 3-D printer that I use regularly, but I found my true passion lies in computers after customizing my own Gaming PC. I became fascinated by the inner workings and the various possibilities of modifications. This realization led me to Network Engineering. Since joining the program, I've met with professors and past students who shared their success stories in the field. I’ve also imagined the sense of accomplishment in finishing and the possibility of sharing my knowledge and support with another worthy student. Thank you for your consideration! Sincerely, Jamacy Daniels
