I want to get to a place in life where my parents can say they are proud of me with no hesitations. My parents never gave me strict standards for grades so just passing my classes to graduate would have been fine, but I have always held myself to higher standards. I never used to try in school because I was afraid that one day I would actually try and get a high score but then the next time I wouldn’t be able to match myself, however, after a while I realized I enjoyed school much more when I let myself become involved with the work and now even though I am scared to not be able to match myself it just makes me work that much harder so that I will never not match my own scores. Family is another thing that is very important to me. My father is Algerian and my mother is half Puerto Rican, half German, so I grew up in a household filled with different cultures and had a difficult time deciding who I was as a person. But my 3 older sisters helped my figure out who I was by leading me through my most difficult times. The last thing that has been influential to me is travel. A couple years ago me and my family took a trip to visit the majority of my extended family across the world. This made me realize everyone has a different image of the world, and I want that image for me to be a happy one.
