    Opportunity for Black Women Scholarship
As a fifteen-year-old senior, I have been "forced" to make a lot of decisions concerning my future, specifically about what I want to do with my life career-wise. All my life I have been changing what I wanted to be, but I am realizing that it is time to decide because I can not keep being unorganized with my life. I have had to sit down and analyze what I feel my purpose on this earth is as well as what I enjoy. I know that my ultimate goal is to help people in the best way possible. I feel that something that is ever-changing about “helping” but can always be improved is the very huge medical field. What many people do not recognize about me is I am not normal, so with that being said, I do not want to be a normal doctor or nurse - no disrespect. I want to help people through medical advancements and aid humans in the way that they need it the most which in my eyes, I feel that will be through technology. My biggest philosophy is that technology needs to be used for helping not hurting people. I am currently leaning toward going into pre-med or neuroscience or psychology. These fields seem to be best for me because I feel that a degree in any of these fields will be what I need to achieve my ultimate goal of helping people mentally, and physically. I know that technology is something that is always improving and I want to be the person who has a part in creating things that will help patients all over the world in all kinds of ways. Going into pre-med will give me the knowledge and experience that I need. If I choose to go into neuroscience, I will be able to get specific knowledge on the brain which is essential for human life. If I can make huge advancements concerning the brain then, my goal will be considered achieved. My last choice would be psychology. Psychology will give me the knowledge I need on humans and their ways and their brain. My overall career goal is to become a well-known Neurosurgeon or someone who works in a lab where I can work on medical advancements; the name of that type of person I am not aware of. Even if I can’t achieve those career goals I would be a psychologist because then, I will be able to help people mentally and that is also something that needs to be worked on. I want to be known for making an incredible change that has essentially helped millions of people. I aim to have a Ph.D. or M.D. It isn't even about the title of it all, I just want to leave this earth knowing I have done what many doctors could not achieve. While I know this path may not be easy, I know it will be worth it. Hopefully, my years in college will better me and educate me to be able to achieve all of these goals. This may also take many years to get exactly where I want to be, but I know I am ready for the things to come.
