I am drawn to real estate because of its potential to create tangible and lasting impact on communities. As an aspiring real estate professional, I am inspired by the opportunity to contribute to urban development, affordable housing initiatives, and economic revitalization efforts. I envision a career where I can leverage my skills in negotiation, market analysis, and project management to facilitate positive change and foster sustainable growth within diverse neighborhoods. As I look to the future, I aspire to become a leader in the real estate industry, known for my integrity, innovation, and commitment to community development. By embracing principles of social responsibility and ethical stewardship, I aim to leave a legacy of positive impact and inclusive prosperity through my work in real estate. Being black is an integral part of my identity and informs my perspective on the world. For me, being black means embracing my heritage with pride, celebrating the achievements of my ancestors, and advocating for social justice and equity in all aspects of life. Choosing to attend an HBCU was a deliberate decision rooted in a desire for community, cultural connection, and academic excellence. At an HBCU, I found a supportive environment where I could thrive academically, cultivate lifelong friendships, and engage with mentors who shared my cultural background and aspirations. Moreover, attending an HBCU allowed me to celebrate the legacy of black excellence and contribute to a tradition of leadership and service that continues to inspire generations of African American scholars and professionals.

In contemporary discourse, the notion of "my truth" has become increasingly prevalent, suggesting that truth is subjective and can vary from person to person based on individual perspectives, experiences, and beliefs. However, from a biblical standpoint, the concept of truth is rooted in the unchanging nature of God and His revealed Word, the Bible. Let us delve into the difference between "my truth" and God's truth, drawing insights from Scripture and understanding the cultural context surrounding biblical passages. "My truth" often implies a subjective understanding of reality influenced by personal biases, emotions, and cultural norms. In a postmodern worldview, truth is seen as relative and subjective, varying from one person to another. This relativistic view of truth can lead to moral relativism, where individuals justify their actions based on their own interpretation of truth rather than adhering to an objective standard. However, the Bible presents a different perspective on truth. In John 14:6, Jesus declares, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Here, Jesus affirms that truth is not a subjective concept but is embodied in His person. As Christians, our understanding of truth is grounded in the person of Jesus Christ and His teachings. Moreover, the Bible consistently emphasizes the importance of seeking God's truth rather than relying on human wisdom or understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6 states, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." This passage underscores the need for humility and reliance on God's wisdom rather than our own limited perspective. Additionally, the cultural context surrounding biblical passages provides valuable insights into the interpretation of truth. During biblical times, truth was often understood within the framework of covenantal relationships between God and His people. In this context, truth was not merely a set of propositional statements but was deeply intertwined with faithfulness, integrity, and obedience to God's commands. For example, Psalm 25:5 declares, "Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long." Here, the psalmist acknowledges God as the source of truth and expresses a desire to be led by His truth. Similarly, Psalm 86:11 urges, "Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name." These passages highlight the intimate connection between knowing God's truth and walking in obedience to His ways. In conclusion, while the concept of "my truth" may prevail in contemporary discourse, the biblical perspective emphasizes the absolute nature of God's truth as revealed in Scripture. As Christians, our understanding of truth is anchored in the person of Jesus Christ and His Word, which serves as the ultimate standard of truth. By seeking God's truth and aligning our lives with His will, we can experience the transformative power of His truth in our lives and bear witness to His faithfulness and grace.
