As a first generation student raised in a low income immigrant household and parents who immigrated from El Salvador in search of a better future struggling with financial instability since arriving has been a constant part of my life. At fourteen started to work alongside my father in construction to help support my family while balancing school responsibilities was a necessary step to help my family further. My mother who lives with diabetes and various physical challenges has motivated me to pursue a stable and promising career that would allow me to support my family and as well allow me to provide my community with honest, reliable automotive services.
The choice of a degree in Automotive, Diesel, and EV Technology was my strongest choice because I want to gain practical skills that solve real world problems. Growing up in a family dependent on physically demanding labor has shown and shaped me to learn the importance of a good work ethic. I am passionate about learning both traditional engine systems and advancing electric vehicle technology so I can stay ahead in an industry that keeps changing, and to always provide reliable services to my community.
I plan to make an impact on my community by offering honest, affordable, and reliable automotive services, especially to families who face similar financial struggles my family has faced for many years and ease the financial burdens my community could have. Learning automotive/ diesel and electric vehicle technology, I hope to help low income communities maintain safe transportation while not worrying about huge expenses.
Representation of hispanic and specifically Salvadorian remains limited. Among Hispanic workers in the Automotive industry about 6.3 percent are Salvadorans. Hispanic and Latino individuals make up 19.6 percent of the total auto industry workers in the United States. As a Salvadoran student pursuing a STEM based trade, I represent a small percentage of the workforce, showing up to show the need for diversity and access in this field.
Inspiring the next generation through showing that financial hardship does not limit one's potential. Sharing my story and showing the value of education in any skilled trade and STEM fields is my hope. Encouraging BIPOC students to pursue technical careers and to continue increasing representation in anything whether it is through race, ethnicity, or financial status showing it is possible to push forward in the automotive industry.
Thank you for your valuable time to read and learn about my life and my future dreams, and thank you for your consideration.

Growing up in a low income immigrant Christian household, I've faced financial instability throughout my life. My parents immigrated from El Salvador looking for a better future with the help of God. One of the challenges I face and continue to face began at fourteen, when financial instability forced me to work alongside my father in construction to help support my family while my mother who faces diabetes and many physical challenges is forced to work by babysitting 3 children everyday to help our family even more financiallyBalancing physical labor, school responsibilities, and pursuing my goals is overwhelming, but my faith has always carried me through. In moments when I've been physically exhausted or felt drained, I keep reminding myself that God is watching over my family and guiding me through any challenge.
My father has worked in construction for over twenty five years since coming to the U.S., he works even under harsh conditions. Working beside him taught me perseverance, but I believe my faith in God is what gave me strength. I have relied on prayer daily, asking God for guidance, and strength. Trusting in God has always helped me understand that any struggles I have faced or I will face will shape me and help prepare me for what's to come. Even when the future feels uncertain, my faith reminds me that God’s plan is greater than my struggles.
During this time, music became another way I leaned on my faith. Playing drums, piano, and guitar, and participating in the school drumline and marching band, helped me stay disciplined. Music shows me that even when comfort is lost, faith remains steady. Through worshiping God by playing instruments and singing I keep learning that God can help me through different things. Music became a way for me to express gratitude and stay focused on hope rather than hardship.
My faith continues to guide me to become an Automotive, Diesel, and EV technology mechanic. I believe God has called me to serve my community with integrity, and honesty, especially families facing financial struggles like me. My goal is to use my skills to ease the burden on families while supporting my own family emotionally, physically, and financially. I want my work to reflect my faith through caring for others.
Relying on my faith keeps helping me overcome hardship with perseverance and hope. God has led me through challenges that once felt impossible, and I trust He will continue to guide my path. This scholarship would help relieve financial pressure and allow me to pursue the future God has placed on my heart, turning hardship into service and faith into action and to ultimately honor the sacrifices my parents have made for my family and I through showing how their work ethic and sacrifices have shaped my values, work ethic, and my faith in God..
Thank you for using valuable time to reading about Me, My life, and My future goals, and for the consideration, God bless.

Trade school is an opportunity to accomplish my goals that would lead to success. Growing up, the weight of financial instability and the sacrifices my parents made to ease that instability was hard. Immigrating parents from El Salvador came to give me a better future. My father has worked in the field of construction for 6 days a week for 25+ years, he continues to do so to provide for our family.
My diabetic mother with physically challenges babysits 3 children everyday to help our family. These circumstance ignited me follow a path that allows me to support my family and relieve financial pressures my parents have. Trade school represents a path toward that goal, Automotive/ Diesel technology motivates me because it teaches to work hard, learn skills, and see results fast.
Automotive/ Diesel Technology is not only a specific career choice but a passion. This trade allows me learn skills such as, critical thinking, and discipline in a field that is evolves fast. The stability this path gives and the opportunities for work is something I will enjoy and take pride in.
A career that supports my family for everything they have sacrificed is important. Working with my father especially in harsh conditions without complaints showed me and taught me work ethic. Their work ethic is a daily reminder that working hard is an important attribute to success.
A life that proves their sacrifices were not in vain giving them a peace of mind allowing them to rest, with their years of struggle leading to something meaningful is my goal. Following this trade, I aim to honor hard work through my own determination, and work ethic.
Thank you for using time to read about me and my goals and for your consideration!!!!

Sammy Ochoa Memorial Scholarship
As a high school senior from a low income immigrant Christian household, becoming an Automotive, Diesel, and EV technology mechanic to support my family financially, emotionally, and physically is the biggest dream I personally have in my life. My parents immigrated from El Salvador seeking a better life, and their sacrifices shaped my values and what is most important to me. My father has worked in the hard field of construction in harsh weather, six days a week, for over twenty five years. From time to time, I have had to work beside my father to better my family financially whenever I am not occupied with my mechanic research and high school studies. Watching my parents struggle to keep our family financially stable taught me that work ethic is the most important factor. I have been passionate about music, playing drums since age five, piano since sixth grade, and guitar since ninth grade. I proudly perform in drumline at school and in a summer all star marching band that continue shaping my discipline.
Serving my community and beyond with honest, reliable mechanic services for families facing struggles like mine is my goal. I want to repair vehicles with integrity, fairness, and compassion, easing financial stress for working people. Completing this path will also help lift my family from long standing hardship. At fourteen, financial instability forced me to work alongside my father to survive. Through summers and weekends, my father and I have worked together, while my mother babysits three children at a time. We overcame serious burdens through endurance, learning that problems need consistent effort. This perseverance, led by God, creates my ambition to give back to neighbors, classmates, customers, and the next generations who need trustworthy service within our Texas communities and beyond our Lone Star.
Sammy Ochoa’s life inspires me because he had faith, family, and music while pushing through challenges with trust in God. Music strengthens me mentally and motivates me. I began drums at five, piano in sixth grade, guitar in ninth, joined the school drumline, an all star marching band, and later trombone. In my junior year, I earned two bronze medals and performed in concert, jazz, and symphonic bands, all in my high school band and UIL. These experiences taught me teamwork and discipline. Losing comfort but keeping faith is a reflection of my family’s hard work. With God guiding my hands, I will work and serve those in need of automotive help, and honor those remembered by turning struggle into success. This scholarship would be an important part of my education, easing financial needs, helping me fulfill the rooted faith my family has, allowing me to help my community and those struggling, just as Sammy inspired perseverance through music and faith.
Thank you for using your valuable time to read about my personal life, struggles, ambitions, and future plans, and most importantly thank you for your consideration. God bless.

Certain circumstances have motivated me to pursue a career in Automotive Diesel and EV technology to better my family and my life, I have a passion to one day understand the mechanics that advance the world. I want to learn skills in both traditional engines and the advancement of electric vehicles so I may one day provide services to my community, easing mechanical challenges. My passion to learn this trade is a motivational reminder that naturally pushes me to use my skills to fix what is broken and provide service to help others. Focusing on growing my skills in the trade of Automotive, Diesel, and EV technologies is an important factor in staying ahead in the world of automotive technology.
I plan to work as a professional automotive mechanic to offer reliable services to my community and beyond. This trade is my way of building a solid foundation for a lifetime of hard work and community safety. I aim to turn my learned skills into a support for my community while achieving to ease the struggles my family has faced for many years. This history of labor has given me the motivation needed to pursue Automotive, Diesel, and EV technology. I see this trade as an important part of reaching my plan to also give back to my community while pursuing a better future for my loved ones financially.
From a financially struggling family with a mother with diabetes and a father who has worked six days a week in the field of construction for 26 years, I am forced to work alongside my father when I am not pursuing my studies. Having to step up and work alongside my father in hard construction labor spending long days doing physical, grueling, demanding work has shown me the true meaning of resilience. My mind and body will not allow me to give up even when my family needs me the most, until I have completely repaid my father’s and mother’s work that has shaped me throughout the years. I worked through hard labor by focusing on the goal of a better life. Showing that same resilience in pursuing the trade of Automotive is what will allow me to keep pushing forward and be successful.
The belief I have is that growing up in a financially struggling family has instinctively shaped me and motivated me toward the belief that everything must be earned through persistence. My main goal is to help my father with the financial burdens he has carried in his life after coming to the U.S. from his country, El Salvador, more than 25 years ago. My biggest plan is to keep my family financially stable. Growing up, my mother has constantly had physical problems from diabetes, bone pains, walking, and constant problems with obtaining medicine, this motivates me even more to keep going. This scholarship would be a piece of a puzzle to one day offer my mother medical support financially. This scholarship would be an answer to a long-time prayer my family and I have not rested on. To one day see my immigrant father and mother be able to rest is when I will understand I have been more than successful in my life, by being persistent, resilient and never giving up that dream will one day become a reality.

Chip Miller Memorial Scholarship
My passion is to one day not only serve my own community but beyond it by learning the trade of automotive technology, from heavy duty diesel power to high tech EV systems. I believe that by becoming an expert in these fields, I can be part of a future that includes safety and reliable service that every driver can depend on.
This passion is something personal to me, as I strive to one day be successful in the trade to hopefully remove any financial burdens my family has carried for years. Learning this trade would mean building my future where I can better my father’s financial situation and ease the stress he has endured to provide for me and my family, making sure he is taken care of. Learning about Chip Miller, who loved the automotive trade and inspired many people, inspires me to keep moving forward, his passion was second to none, and it proves that this career is a place for those who truly care.
Helping my family financially relates to the automotive trade, because ever since I was small my father had to constantly fix his car, and not having the financial needs to fix things over the years has made my father struggle with transportation. Half a year ago my fathers car has failed to be safe for driving and this has forced him to seek transportation to and from work, it encourages me to pursue this dream and trade with the same passion and heart that Chip Miller displayed throughout his life. Chip’s story in building some of the world’s greatest car shows, shows me that a career in this field is about more than just mechanics, it is about community and a commitment to push forward.
I relate to Chip because I see that same obsession in myself, and his story has taught me that devotion is one of the best tools a technician can have. The desire to provide reliable service is my way of honoring my fathers hard work while securing my family's future. By pursuing modern automotive/ diesel and electric technology, I am making sure that I become an asset in a fast paced industry, letting me to lift the financial weight from my father’s shoulders. My ambition to change and my passion to give service are what drives me toward a career that benefits both my community and the people I love most.
Koehler Family Trades and Engineering Scholarship
Pursuing the Automotive/ Diesel and EV technology trade is mainly based on my desire to one day make my family’s future easier, more livable, and to honor all the sacrifices made by both of my parents. Growing up I have witnessed the weight of financial burdens and financial stress that many financial needs place on a household. These financial circumstances began a desire and a promise to myself to one day become an automotive mechanic, allowing me to pursue this trade will allow me to one day lift myself and my family financially and alleviate the financial pressures my father has carried for more than 25 years since arriving in this country. This career is not just my passion and a personal goal, but this is an important path to help my family. The goal of seeing my parents finally rest, knowing that years of struggle are behind us, is my biggest inspiration for my future. My commitment to pursue this education is to build a life that will show the value of their investment is what made me who I am and one day repay and show my parents my gratefulness with acts.
Seeing my father day after day in the hard field of construction has shaped me and my understanding of what real hard work is. My father and mother immigrated to this country with a purpose in mind, to be able to provide a better life for my sister and me. My fathers work ethic has become the biggest inspiration in my life. Watching him and working alongside him to allow our family to push forward financially while enduring long hard working days in harsh weather without ever seeing him complain taught me that real hard work will always be rewarded. In my life this has placed in me the belief that no obstacle ever is too difficult to overcome if one has the determination and discipline to keep pushing forward and to never give up. I have learned that success is made through always being consistent and having strong determination, that is what I see in my father every morning. He has changed my life in ways he does not know, shaping me and those around him into better people who learn to value work and learn to have determination. I carry his lessons into my everyday life, keeping his determination and persistence to honor his hard work day by day by showing my own work and improving everyday.
Allen Schwinkendorf Memorial Scholarship
Work ethic is important to me it represents a set of values on the belief that real hard work is entirely valuable, it allows one to show a person's worth, integrity, discipline, and commitment to what their mind is set and goal that is made. In the automotive trade, work ethic is important but not just about completing tasks and jobs but it shows dependability, responsibility, and a passion to contribute to ensure teamwork and a job can be done. It means understanding that the safety of a driver depends on the discipline and patience you put into every bolt you tighten. A strong work ethic is the major difference between simply having a job and being part of making art that you respect and honor.
This is the one of the most important things in my life because I have watched it become modeled and shaped by my parents, my parents are Salvadoran immigrants. My father has worked daily labor in construction since his arrival here more than 25 years and is a reminder that financial stability, which is the prevalence me and my family face, is a reminder that financial stability is achieved through endurance and perseverance.
Financial struggle has been the biggest obstacle and challenge me and my family have ever faced, but it has also been my greatest motivator. I have allowed it to instead break me to teach me that while I cannot control my circumstances and problems, I can always control my efforts and goals. My dedication to bring my fathers same work ethic to my passion of becoming an automotive mechanic and technology engineer can be achieved by using this scholarship to ease my fathers financial struggle and by easing the financial barriers that stand between me and my goal of bringing that work ethic in the skilled trade of automotive mechanical technology engineering.
Tim Williams Automotive Student Scholarship
My name is Jairo Rosa. I am applying for this scholarship because I have a passion that is in need of a miracle. Tim Williams legacy has been and is inspiring, to see that the love for the trade of automotive mechanics is something universal that is shared by myself and others who find beauty and love for this trade. This scholarship would represent more than just financial aid. This Scholarship would be a way for me to ease a challenging cycle and struggle for my father, who works in hard construction labor every day to support me and my family. My passion to become a skilled automotive mechanic came from watching my father struggle to afford basic maintenance, and mechanical problems through the years to keep a reliable vehicle on the road since I was 12 years old. Half a year ago, my father's car became unreliable due to safety concerns, and my father was unable to afford fixing his car. He was forced to rely on transportation to and from work, relying on coworkers just to get to work. This difficult struggle has fueled my passion more than ever to pursue the skilled trade of automotive mechanical technology so that I may one day provide the stability my Father and family needs and deserves and has worked so hard for not only that but the education would allow my father to ensure the financial safety he has so much worked so hard to give me.
With the support of this scholarship, not only will I be able to complete my education in the Automotive field with skills but will allow me to ensure my father never has to ever worry again about his transportation alongside other financial needs in our life. My ultimate goal is to use those learned skills to one day make a meaningful impact not only within my family but as well on my community, helping those who face similar hardships is something I have promised myself. I strive to be a person who lends a hand to those people and families who are a car breakdown away from a crisis, much like Tim Williams story that states he did this through his teaching and mentorship. Allowing me to turn my passion into a career, I plan to one day honor my father’s dedication and hard work while allowing me to always give out a helping hand to others with their own challenges and struggles through reliable and honest automotive service.
