One issue I noticed in my school community was the lack of participation in Friendship Club, a group dedicated to fostering connections between students and our special education program. As vice president, I saw firsthand how many students were unaware of the club’s mission or hesitant to get involved. This motivated me to take action—I wanted to create a more inclusive environment where students of all abilities felt valued and supported.
To address this issue, I focused on increasing engagement across the student body. One of my proudest accomplishments was organizing a Rain Rally, a school-wide event that brought together the entire community in support of Friendship Club. I also worked to involve every spring sports team, encouraging athletes to participate in our events and create meaningful interactions with special education students. These efforts have helped bridge the gap between different groups in our school, fostering friendships that extend beyond the club itself.
Looking ahead, I hope to expand these initiatives by partnering with additional student organizations, hosting larger inclusive events, and advocating for greater awareness within our school. By continuing to build connections, I want to ensure that every student feels seen, valued, and included—because meaningful friendships should have no barriers.

Father figures play an essential role in shaping who we become, providing support, guidance, and unwavering love. For me, that figure is my dad, Doug—a man whose dedication to his family knows no bounds. He has been the foundation of our household, the unwavering supporter of all my endeavors, and the person I turn to in both triumph and hardship. His impact on my life is immeasurable, making him more than just a father—he is my role model, my rock, and my greatest cheerleader.
One of the most remarkable things about my dad is his unmatched dedication to supporting me and my three sisters in everything we do. With a household full of passionate athletes, my dad never fails to show up—whether it's cheering me on at my volleyball games or celebrating the victories and efforts of my sisters as they compete in soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and wrestling. He has sat through countless games, driven to practices, and stood on the sidelines in every kind of weather, all to make sure that we know how much he believes in us. No matter how busy life gets, he is always present, ensuring that none of us ever feels alone in our pursuits.
Beyond sports, his unwavering support extends to every important life event. Whether it’s academic achievements, personal milestones, or moments when I just need someone to lean on, my dad has never let me down. He is the main source of income for our household, yet despite his demanding responsibilities, he never allows work to overshadow his presence in our lives. No matter how tired he might be, he makes sure he’s there for us—physically, emotionally, and wholeheartedly. His ability to balance being a provider while still being completely present in our lives is a testament to his strength and dedication.
While his support is invaluable, what truly sets him apart is his kindness, humor, and ability to be a source of comfort. My dad is one of the funniest people I know, always managing to turn an ordinary moment into laughter. His humor brings joy into our home, making even the toughest days a little brighter. But beyond his lightheartedness, he is also the person I turn to when I need comfort. He is my shoulder to cry on, the one who listens without judgment, and the voice that reassures me when I feel uncertain. His ability to be both strong and gentle is something I deeply admire and hope to emulate in my own life.
Doug is more than just my father figure—he is the heart of our family. His selflessness, unwavering support, and ability to bring joy into our lives make him truly special. Because of him, I have learned what it means to be strong, compassionate, and resilient. I am endlessly grateful for the love and guidance he provides, and I will always cherish the impact he has had on shaping the person I am today.

The first story to come to mind is a story that brings laughter to me every single time. I am driving to Ocean City, Maryland, where my family yearly vacationed, as many Pennsylvanian families do, with my Aunt Lauren, Uncle Peter, Nana, and Poppop. I am the eldest of 6 granddaughters on this side of my family. So being the eldest I often got "special" opportunities like this. So of course, I was eustatic to be going an entire DAY earlier than my sisters and cousins. We arrive to our hotel, start unpacking our bags and planning what fun we could do that night. A little bit of background but I LOVE the beach so as soon as we go every single year, I love to look out the window or stand on a balcony in complete awe of our beautiful earth. Back to the story, 8-year-old me saw this light peeking out from two half opened curtains on the opposite side of the entrance of the condo. So of course, I decide that I must go look out the window! As I walk further into the condo, I see a big wide-open space..."A balcony!" I exclaim with the utmost excitement an 8-year-old with a love for balconies can. Lauren, Peter, Nana, and Poppop turn my way laughing because what 8-year-old comes to the beach to scream in excitement about a balcony. They continue watching only to watch me at full speed sprint towards the balcony. I'm running through the condo as fast as I can until I am suddenly hit by a big, hard, clear, glass door. Our excitement fades as we hear a "SMACK" noise and I fall to the floor. We all laughed at this for hours and hours. Continuing to tell the story to the rest of my family the next few days. I still get made fun of for this to this very day. But I have not lost my love to admire a view from a balcony. This story was not only funny but also one of my fondest memories with my Aunt Lauren who passed this past January. I have so many stories like this one with her, which I could go on and on about for hours. Remembering fond memories like these with her keeps her memory alive and keeps my family and I laughing, which is precisely what she would want.
Female Athleticism Scholarship
From an early age, sports taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of pushing past limitations. Being an athlete and balancing school, personal responsibilities, and extracurriculars shaped me into a determined individual who refuses to back down in the face of adversity. However, one of the most defining experiences in my journey has been navigating male-dominated environments in athletics—an experience that has strengthened my confidence and helped me find my voice.
When I volunteered for the boys’ varsity basketball team, I quickly realized that I was stepping into a space where women were few and far between. As one of only three girls involved with the entire team and coaching staff, I felt the weight of expectation and the subtle yet undeniable presence of gender disparities. At first, I worried whether my contributions would be valued or whether I would be dismissed because I wasn’t playing the sport myself. But as I worked closely with the team, I gained respect, not just because of my knowledge and dedication, but because I refused to let gender define my role. I proved that my voice, ideas, and hard work belonged there just as much as anyone else's. That experience taught me the power of persistence and the importance of standing firm in spaces where women are underrepresented.
My time playing girls’ volleyball also reinforced the lessons of resilience and adaptability. With male assistant coaches leading our team, I learned how to take instruction, hold my ground, and navigate the dynamics of being coached by individuals who hadn't directly experienced what it meant to compete as a female athlete. While male coaches brought valuable knowledge, there were moments when I had to advocate for myself and my teammates, whether it was addressing concerns about training styles or standing up for the mental and physical challenges that female athletes uniquely face. Through these experiences, I grew into someone who understood how to find a balance between respecting authority and asserting my strength.
The ability to juggle sports, school, a part-time job, and personal life has been essential in shaping my resilience. Balancing demanding practices while maintaining straight A’s in full-time college-level courses has taught me time management, self-discipline, and perseverance. Adding a part-time job to the mix further strengthened my work ethic and ability to adapt under pressure. Each of these commitments required me to push past exhaustion, stay focused, and remain dedicated to achieving my goals. These experiences have prepared me to succeed in any male-dominated field, teaching me how to work hard, advocate for myself, and never let doubt or obstacles hold me back.
By stepping into spaces where women’s voices are often overlooked, I have learned that strength isn’t just physical—it’s the ability to demand respect, challenge limitations, and rewrite expectations.

My passion for advancing medical technology stems from a deeply personal place. My aunt underwent a heart transplant at just 17 years old before passing away at just 37, and my grandfather battled heart-related health issues throughout his life before passing away. Seeing firsthand how medical advancements gave my aunt a second chance at life, yet recognizing the challenges my grandfather faced, inspired my commitment to ensuring life-saving devices reach the people who need them. I want to help bridge the gap between groundbreaking innovation and real-world accessibility—because no one should miss out on the medical advancements that could change their future.
Growing up, I was fascinated by how medical devices could dramatically improve quality of life. However, I also saw how accessibility barriers—whether financial, like my grandfather had, logistical, or educational—prevented many people from receiving the care they needed. This realization pushed me to explore the field of medical technology sales. I want to be at the forefront of bringing innovative solutions to market and ensuring that life-saving devices are not just created but widely available to those who need them most. By helping medical professionals access the best tools for treatment, I hope to contribute to a future where more lives are saved through innovation and accessibility.
Beyond my professional aspirations, I am dedicated to personal growth and community engagement. Volunteering has always been a core part of who I am, as it allows me to stay connected with those in need and contribute meaningfully to society. Whether it's mentoring younger students or assisting in community programs, giving back reinforces my desire to serve and strengthens my commitment to a career centered around helping others.
I also find balance and motivation through working out, traveling, and reading. Exercise helps me build discipline and resilience—qualities that I know will be invaluable in my future career. Traveling exposes me to diverse cultures and perspectives, teaching me how different communities approach healthcare and innovation. Reading fuels my curiosity and expands my understanding of both the medical field and the world around me. Each of these interests plays a role in shaping me into a more well-rounded individual, prepared to take on challenges with determination and empathy.
Receiving this scholarship would be an incredible opportunity to further my education and sharpen my skills in medical device sales. With this support, I will be better equipped to bring life-changing innovations to market, ensuring that the next generation of medical advancements reaches the communities that need them most. I hope to be a driving force in improving healthcare accessibility so that more families—like mine—can see their loved ones thrive, not just survive.
