Hi! Nice to meet you!
I’m a high school senior from a low-income, immigrant family, and—if all goes well—I’ll soon be the first in my family to attend college in the U.S.
Recently, my father’s health declined sharply. As our sole provider, his illness placed enormous financial strain on our family. Still, attending college has always been my dream and my parents’ hope for a better future. I’m working hard to make it happen, and every bit of support truly goes a long way.
In high school, I’ve thrown myself into activities combining leadership, service, and my academic interests. As Captain of our Debate Team, I mentored novice debaters to success at national tournaments and led everything from research to logistics. I founded the Computer Science Club, where I led weekly meetings and tutored students in AP Computer Science. As President of the International Relations Club, I organized embassy visits, a national model diplomacy conference attracting 100 participants, and a campus-wide election forum bringing alumni of diverse political views back to campus. As Vice President of the Refugee Action Team, I lobbied for refugee protections on Capitol Hill, coordinated local service efforts, and organized community events for newly arrived migrants.
If financial circumstances align, I will attend either Georgia Tech or Carnegie Mellon University this fall, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in International Relations. I’ve always been interested in both fields and now more than ever, I believe understanding where technology and global affairs meet is crucial.
