Bio

I want to work in automotives because cars have always been more than machines to me they are my passion, my focus, and the foundation of my dreams. From a young age, I was fascinated by engines, designs, and how vehicles carry both people and memories through life. Becoming an automotive mechanic allows me to combine my love for problem-solving, technical skill, and creativity. I enjoy diagnosing issues, repairing vehicles, and restoring older and classic cars because each project challenges me to think critically and work with precision. Mechanics don’t just fix cars—they restore independence, safety, and confidence for the people who rely on them, and I want to be someone who takes pride in that responsibility every day. Beyond working with cars, I am passionate about helping others and sharing my knowledge. I want to open my own shop one day, not only to restore vehicles but also to mentor young people who are interested in the automotive trade. I hope to create a space where creativity, skill, and hard work are celebrated, and where others feel inspired to pursue their passions. I am also interested in sharing my experiences through platforms like my YouTube channel, showing people how dedication and perseverance can turn a hobby into a career. Ultimately, working in automotives is more than a job for me it is a way to combine my passions, help others, and build a future rooted in skill, dedication, and impact. I am determined to turn my love for cars into a lifelong career and a source of inspiration for those around me.

My career objective is to become a skilled and reliable mechanic and eventually open my own mechanic shop. I have loved cars and engines for as long as I can remember, and this passion has shaped my goals and inspired me to pursue a career in automotive technology. By gaining the technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and professional skills through higher education, I plan to build a career that allows me to provide high-quality service, help my community, and create opportunities for others who share my interest in cars. Owning my own shop will not only allow me to turn my passion into a sustainable career but also give me the independence to manage my business, mentor others, and contribute to my community in meaningful ways. Financially, I need support because my parents both work long hours, and I want to ensure that they don’t have to continue working into their senior years just to help me cover the costs of school. They worry about how I will pay for tuition, books, and other expenses, and while I intend to get a job while attending college, I also want to ease their concerns and show them that I am capable of supporting myself responsibly. Receiving a scholarship would help me focus more on my education and career goals rather than worrying about how to cover expenses, and it would allow me to make the most of the opportunities my program provides. My parents have always encouraged me to pursue my passions, and their support has been invaluable. I want to honor their sacrifices by working hard, staying disciplined, and achieving my goals so that I can one day provide for them as they have provided for me. This includes not only paying them back financially but also showing them that their guidance and encouragement were worthwhile and that their trust in me has helped shape my future. I want to make them proud by proving that I can manage my responsibilities, succeed in my studies, and establish a career that allows me to be independent and generous. In addition, achieving my career objectives will allow me to contribute to my community and mentor others who have big dreams like me. By demonstrating determination, responsibility, and success in a skilled trade, I hope to inspire young people and show them that with hard work and dedication, they can achieve their goals as well. Supporting myself through college, establishing my career, and eventually opening my own mechanic shop will be the culmination of my efforts to create a better life for myself and a way to give back to those who have helped me along the way. Receiving financial assistance would be a critical step in helping me achieve these goals and ensure that my family’s support is honored and valued. It would allow me to focus on my education, build my career, and ultimately create stability for myself and my parents.
Learner Online Learning Innovator Scholarship for Veterans
To further my understanding of automotive technology and the inner workings of cars, I use a variety of online platforms, tools, and resources that have greatly expanded my learning. Some of the main resources I rely on are Khan Academy, Coursera, DENSO training modules, and YouTube tutorials. Each of these platforms has contributed to my education in unique ways and has allowed me to explore both basic concepts and more advanced topics in automotive mechanics. These tools have become essential in helping me gain knowledge, develop skills, and prepare for a career as a skilled mechanic. Khan Academy and Coursera have been particularly helpful for building a strong foundation in technical concepts and related subjects. On these platforms, I can access courses that cover physics, electronics, and mechanical principles, all of which are important for understanding how vehicles operate. These courses allow me to break down complex ideas into smaller, manageable pieces, which makes learning less intimidating and more effective. I appreciate that I can progress at my own pace, review lessons as many times as I need, and practice problem-solving in ways that reinforce my understanding. These platforms have taught me the importance of patience, discipline, and consistency in learning, which are skills that I apply not only to my studies but also to hands-on automotive work. DENSO training modules are another valuable resource. They provide professional, industry-standard information about automotive systems, engine diagnostics, and repair techniques. These modules are designed by experts and give me insight into real-world automotive practices that I might not otherwise encounter until I am in college or on the job. I have been able to learn how different engine components interact, how electrical systems function, and how to approach troubleshooting problems efficiently. These lessons have helped me bridge the gap between theory and practice, giving me a better understanding of how classroom learning applies directly to hands-on work. YouTube has also been an incredible tool for learning. I use it to watch tutorials, demonstrations, and explanations from mechanics and educators around the world. The visual aspect of YouTube makes it easy to understand complicated concepts, like engine timing, fuel systems, or transmission repair. Seeing the processes in action, step by step, helps me retain information and gives me confidence to try similar procedures on my own projects. I am constantly surprised and grateful at how accessible and useful these resources are, especially since much of this information is not easily learned anywhere else before reaching college-level courses. These online platforms and tools have helped me stay on track with lessons, supplement my classroom learning, and gain a deeper understanding of automotive technology. They have allowed me to explore topics in greater depth than traditional instruction alone and have given me the opportunity to practice problem-solving in a controlled, self-directed environment. I have learned to be resourceful, curious, and independent in my learning, and I have discovered that technology can make education accessible and engaging in ways that were not possible when I first developed my interest in cars. Overall, the combination of Khan Academy, Coursera, DENSO training, and YouTube has empowered me to build a strong foundation in automotive mechanics and technical knowledge. These resources have helped me learn to apply what I know in practical ways, stay motivated, and pursue my goal of becoming a skilled mechanic. They have shown me that learning is not limited to the classroom, and with dedication and the right tools, I can continue to grow my skills and prepare for a successful career in automotive technology.

By creating a successful shop, I hope to mentor others, provide opportunities, and show that with dedication and planning, it is possible to build a business that lasts. I believe I will be successful in my business endeavors because of my drive, persistence, and ability to learn from challenges. Many businesses fail because of poor planning, lack of focus, or giving up when obstacles arise. I have learned the importance of discipline, problem-solving, and preparation through both school and personal experiences. My passion for automotive work motivates me to put in the time and effort required to excel, and I am committed to continually improving my skills and knowledge. I understand that success in business requires more than technical ability—it also requires integrity, reliability, and strong communication with customers and employees. I plan to apply all of these principles to my shop, ensuring that it is a place where people trust the work being done and feel valued as customers. To me, a successful life means pursuing work that I love, creating opportunities for myself and others, and making a positive impact on my community. Success is not just financial; it is about building a business and a life that reflects my values, skills, and passions. My name is Jaedon, and I have always been passionate about cars, engines, and how things work. From a young age, I was fascinated by watching vehicles move, hearing their engines roar, and imagining how mechanics could repair or improve them. Movies like Fast & Furious sparked that initial curiosity, but as I grew older, my interest became a true passion. I wanted to understand how cars functioned in detail and eventually turn that passion into a career. That is why I chose to pursue an Associate of Occupational Studies in Automotive Technology. This program allows me to gain the technical skills and hands-on experience needed to become a skilled mechanic while preparing me to build a career doing something I love. I am especially motivated by the idea of representing Black males in the automotive field. Black men make up roughly 8–10% of all mechanics in the United States, which means I am part of a minority within this industry. Being in this position comes with a responsibility to show younger Black students that a career in mechanics is not only achievable but can also be a path to success, stability, and fulfillment. I want to inspire the next generation to see mechanics, automotive technology, and other skilled trades as viable and rewarding careers. Representation matters, and by excelling in this program, I can help break stereotypes and open doors for others who may feel discouraged from pursuing this path. My goal is not only to succeed for myself but to use my skills and education to make a positive impact on my community. I plan to mentor young people, teach them practical skills, and encourage them to explore careers in automotive technology. I know from experience how much guidance and support can mean when pursuing a challenging career. Many young people in my community face obstacles such as limited access to resources, discouragement, or low expectations from society. By sharing my knowledge, showing dedication, and demonstrating that success is possible, I hope to empower others to pursue their interests and develop confidence in their abilities. I also want to be a mechanic who contributes to the community in practical ways. This includes providing reliable, high-quality service, helping others maintain their vehicles safely, and being someone people can trust. I believe that success is not just personal achievement but also giving back and helping those around you. Education has given me the foundation to combine technical skills with leadership, empathy, and mentorship so that I can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I chose this degree program because it aligns with my passion, allows me to represent Black males in a field where we are underrepresented, and gives me the tools to make a positive impact. I hope to inspire others by showing that with dedication, focus, and education, they can achieve their dreams. I want to break barriers, increase representation, and create a legacy where the next generation of Black mechanics sees that they belong, can succeed, and can continue to raise the odds for those who come after them.

I know that setbacks do not define my worth or potential, and this mindset extends to how I view others. These lessons have strengthened my relationships, making me a more understanding friend and family member. They have also motivated me to approach my career with purpose and integrity, knowing that success is not just about personal achievement but about the positive impact I can have on others. Ultimately, my experiences with mental health have shaped my beliefs, strengthened my relationships, and inspired my career path. I have learned that challenges can be transformed into strengths, that empathy and support are invaluable, and that pursuing one’s passions with resilience can create meaningful change. I aim to use my education and career to make a difference in my community, helping others navigate their own struggles while achieving their dreams. These experiences have shown me that mental health is both a personal journey and a lens through which we can better understand, support, and uplift those around us.

By sharing what I have learned and providing guidance, I hope to show that neurodiverse individuals are capable of success and that their unique perspectives and abilities are valuable. Supporting underserved communities means more than just teaching technical skills; it means building relationships, providing encouragement, and showing people that they can succeed even when the odds are stacked against them. My education will allow me to combine hands-on knowledge with mentorship, creating a space where people feel supported, understood, and empowered. I want to help others recognize their potential, overcome obstacles, and realize that their differences do not define their limits. Education gives me the tools to make this impact by giving me expertise, credibility, and the ability to share knowledge effectively. Ultimately, my neurodiverse experiences have made me resilient, empathetic, and motivated to make a difference. I plan to use the education I gain not only to build a career in automotive technology but also to support individuals who might not have access to the guidance or resources they need. By sharing my experiences, teaching practical skills, and offering mentorship, I hope to empower underserved communities to pursue their passions and achieve success on their own terms. My journey has shown me that challenges can become strengths, and I want to help others see the same potential in themselves.

Ethel Hayes Destigmatization of Mental Health Scholarship
My experiences with mental health have profoundly shaped who I am, influencing my goals, relationships, and how I understand the world. Living with autism, anxiety, and bouts of depression, I have faced moments of intense self-doubt, feeling as if I weren’t good enough or capable of accomplishing anything meaningful. There were times when I convinced myself that I was too “dumb” to make a difference, too flawed to achieve my dreams, and too burdened to pursue the life I wanted. These feelings were isolating and painful, but over time, I learned to rely on the people around me, particularly my closest friend and my now girlfriend, Catherine, as well as my family, to help me navigate the darkness. Their support has been essential in helping me recognize my potential, maintain resilience, and shape the goals I now pursue with clarity and determination. Catherine has been so important in my understanding of mental health, not only because of her unwavering support of me, but because of the struggles she has faced herself. In 2025, Catherine endured multiple depressive episodes that led to five suicide attempts and several hospitalizations. Witnessing her suffering firsthand was terrifying, heartbreaking, and deeply formative. One of the hardest moments I remember was when she was found unconscious on the street, in critical condition, after an attempt on her life. I was helpless to intervene, and even more so because I was not allowed to check on her immediately due to my parents’ rules. The helplessness and fear I felt in that moment were overwhelming. I constantly feared for her safety, and every hospital call reminded me of how fragile life can be. I could only hear her voice for brief twenty-minute calls, twenty minutes in which I could hear her sadness, hear the weight of her pain, and yet feel powerless to fully comfort her. Each of these moments reminded me how critical mental health support is and how devastating it can be when someone feels alone or unheard. Another moment that left an indelible mark on me was a time we were all at the park, surrounding Catherine as she cried with a dead look in her eyes. She seemed entirely detached, consumed by her depression, and no words could reach her. Seeing someone I care about so profoundly lost in despair made me confront my own vulnerability and the fragility of life. It also taught me the importance of empathy, vigilance, and consistency in supporting friends. These experiences reshaped how I interact with others, making me someone who constantly checks in with my friends and loved ones, understanding that mental health is not just an individual struggle but a shared responsibility among those who care. Experiencing these challenges alongside Catherine also influenced my personal approach to my own mental health. I still struggle at times with anxiety and depression, and moments of self-doubt linger, but having a network of support Catherine, my friends, and my family has allowed me to manage these struggles more healthily. Their presence reminds me that I am not alone, and that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. I have learned to recognize the signs when I am slipping and to take proactive steps to maintain my well-being. I have also learned the power of small, consistent acts of care: checking in on someone, listening without judgment, and showing empathy even when words feel insufficient. These experiences have also shaped my long-term goals. I want to create a life where I am not only pursuing my own dreams but actively contributing to the mental well-being of others. I aspire to be a person who can support, uplift, and advocate for friends, peers, and community members who may feel isolated in their struggles. I have learned that mental health is foundational to achieving any goal, whether personal, professional, or academic, and that by prioritizing my own mental health, I can help others pursue their potential as well. The fear, despair, and uncertainty I experienced alongside Catherine, combined with my own personal challenges, have strengthened my resolve to live intentionally, care deeply, and make meaningful contributions to the lives of those around me. Understanding mental health has also shaped my perception of the world. I have realized that suffering is often invisible, that people carry burdens we cannot see, and that kindness, patience, and empathy can have transformative effects. These insights have made me more compassionate, more intentional in my relationships, and more committed to creating safe spaces for honesty and vulnerability. I now approach life with a deeper awareness of the struggles that people face, and I am motivated to act in ways that support mental wellness and resilience, whether in my family, my friendships, or my broader community. In the end, My experiences with mental health, both my own and Catherine’s, have taught me that life is fragile, challenges are inevitable, and support is invaluable. They have shaped my goals by encouraging me to pursue meaningful work that allows me to help others, my relationships by fostering empathy and vigilance, and my understanding of the world by deepening my compassion and commitment to community. I have learned that mental health is not something to neglect or underestimate; it is a central part of what makes us human, a force that can shape our choices, relationships, and impact. By embracing these lessons, I am determined to live a life marked by care, purpose, and resilience, and to support others as they navigate the often difficult path of mental health with the same compassion and dedication that has been shown to me.
Learner Tutoring Innovators of Color in STEM Scholarship
I have chosen to pursue a degree in STEM because I am passionate about building, creating, and solving problems in ways that can make a real difference in the world. STEM is more than just science, technology, engineering, and math it is a field full of possibilities for innovation, growth, and transformation. From a young age, I have been drawn to figuring out how things work, whether it’s understanding the mechanics of a car or exploring new technologies. This curiosity has grown into a commitment to pursue a career where I can combine technical skill, creativity, and problem-solving to make an impact in my community and beyond. As a Black student, I am particularly motivated to succeed in STEM because I know the importance of representation. Historically, people like me have often been overlooked, undervalued, or pigeonholed into categories that do not reflect our potential. Many of us are told, explicitly or implicitly, that STEM fields are “not for us,” that we are better suited for certain paths, or that our dreams are too ambitious. I refuse to accept those limitations. I want to show that Black people are just as capable of excelling as scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and innovators. By pursuing a degree in STEM, I am taking steps to break stereotypes, challenge assumptions, and demonstrate that talent and passion are not defined by skin color. I also want to uplift others who may face similar challenges. I hope to inspire young Black people to pursue their dreams fearlessly, even when the world doubts them. Representation matters, and seeing someone who looks like you achieve success in STEM can make a lasting difference. I want to create opportunities, provide guidance, and share knowledge so that others can follow paths that were once thought inaccessible. Whether through mentorship, community programs, or simply by being an example of what is possible, I want to help ensure that future generations of Black students feel empowered to pursue their interests and make their mark in STEM. My commitment to STEM is driven not only by personal ambition but also by a desire to build a better future for my community. I want to innovate, problem-solve, and create solutions that improve lives, while also challenging the systemic barriers that have held people like me back for too long. I see STEM as a platform for change both technically and socially. By excelling in this field, I can help redefine what is possible for Black students, create pathways for success, and demonstrate that our contributions are vital, meaningful, and transformative. Ultimately, pursuing a degree in STEM is about more than just a career; it is about purpose. It is about proving to myself and to others that limitations imposed by society do not define us. It is about building a legacy for future generations, ensuring that young Black students know they are capable, valuable, and deserving of every opportunity. I am committed to using my knowledge, skills, and voice to impact the STEM field positively, to uplift others, and to inspire change. I want to leave a mark not only in the work I do but in the lives I touch, showing that with passion, dedication, and resilience, we can all achieve our dreams and redefine what's possible.

From a young age, I have been fascinated by cars. I remember being captivated by how engines worked, how a car could move so fast, and how people could take something mechanical and make it extraordinary. That fascination grew into a passion, and over the years, it has become clear to me that I want to pursue a career in automotive technology. This interest has shaped my path, influenced how I face challenges, and prepared me for the journey toward higher education. One of the biggest challenges I have faced is navigating life with autism. There were times when people dismissed my interests or didn’t understand my intensity for cars. I also faced difficulties in school, especially in understanding how to advocate for myself and make the most of my IEP. At times, it was hard to feel accepted, and I had to learn how to stay focused on my goals despite misunderstandings and doubts from others. Instead of letting these experiences discourage me, I used them as motivation to develop resilience and determination. My love for cars became my anchor. I studied engines, practiced hands-on repairs, and learned as much as I could independently. These experiences taught me patience, problem-solving, and the importance of perseverance skills that are essential for both higher education and a career in automotive technology. I plan to study automotive technology through a Technical school. This field is important to me because it combines technical skill with creativity and problem-solving. Cars are not just machines; they are a part of people’s lives and freedom. Being able to understand, repair, and improve them is a way to make a tangible difference. Learning advanced diagnostics, engine repair, and vehicle maintenance will allow me to take my passion to a professional level. I am excited to gain hands-on experience, work with the latest automotive technologies, and refine my skills so that I can confidently tackle real-world challenges in the field. I also want to make a meaningful impact in my community through my work. Cars are essential to daily life, whether it’s getting to school, work, or supporting a family. By becoming a skilled mechanic, I can help people maintain their vehicles safely and efficiently. I hope to use my knowledge to mentor others who are passionate about cars, especially young people who may feel misunderstood or discouraged because of their interests or differences. I want to show that with dedication, focus, and passion, anyone can turn their love for something into a rewarding career. Additionally, I aim to contribute to my community by providing reliable automotive services, helping people solve practical problems, and sharing my enthusiasm for the field to inspire the next generation of mechanics. My experiences, both challenges and accomplishments, have prepared me for this journey by teaching me resilience, responsibility, and the value of pursuing what I love. Studying automotive technology is more than just a career choice; it is the culmination of years of curiosity, dedication, and hard work. Through this field, I plan not only to achieve my personal dreams but also to make a positive impact in my community, helping others while sharing the passion that has guided me my whole life. Cars have always been a source of joy and inspiration for me, and I am ready to turn that passion into a meaningful and lasting contribution in the world of automotive technology.

Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by cars. I remember watching the Fast & Furious movies and being completely captivated by the way the cars moved, how the engines roared, and how people could work on machines to make them faster and stronger. That fascination wasn’t just about watching cars; it sparked a deep passion for understanding how they worked and learning to fix them myself. Over the years, that love has only grown, turning into a clear goal: I want to become a professional mechanic and dedicate my life to automotive technology. Growing up, my interest in cars was not always understood by others. I have autism, and at times, people rejected or dismissed my interests because they didn’t fit the standard ideas of what I “should” be doing. I remember feeling frustrated when people didn’t take my passion seriously, or when my intensity about cars was misunderstood. But instead of letting that discourage me, I used it as motivation to learn even more. Cars have always been my truest passion, and they became a way for me to stay focused, find confidence in myself, and push through challenges. I realized early on that passion doesn’t come from approval—it comes from commitment, curiosity, and the desire to improve. My experiences with rejection and misunderstanding taught me perseverance and resilience. I learned how to stay committed to something I love, even when others doubt it. Every time I faced skepticism about my abilities or my interests, I worked harder, studied more, and practiced everything I could about automotive technology. I experimented with engines, learned about different systems, and even helped friends and family with car repairs. Those experiences gave me not only technical knowledge but also a sense of responsibility and pride in what I could accomplish with patience and dedication. Pursuing an Associate of Occupational Studies in Automotive Technology is the next step in turning my passion into a career. I am excited about learning from professionals, understanding the latest automotive technologies, and gaining hands-on experience in the field. I want to master skills like engine diagnostics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance so that I can not only repair cars but also help people rely on their vehicles safely and efficiently. My ultimate goal is to use my knowledge and skills to make a difference, whether it’s helping someone fix a car that is critical for their job or simply sharing my expertise with others who love cars as much as I do. My love for cars has shaped who I am today. It has taught me focus, patience, and determination. It has shown me the importance of pursuing what truly matters to me, no matter the obstacles. And it has inspired me to work toward a career where I can combine my passion with practical skills to help others and contribute to the automotive community. Becoming a mechanic is not just a dream it is the path I have chosen because it aligns with my passion, my abilities, and my desire to make a meaningful impact. Cars have given me purpose, and I am committed to turning that purpose into a lifelong career filled with learning, growth, and the joy of sharing what I love with the world.

There are teachers who teach a subject, and then there are teachers who teach you how to believe in yourself. For me, that teacher is Mr. White from my Computer/IT class at Aston Vocational School. He is one of the most influential people I have met in high school, not just because of what he teaches, but because of how he treats his students and how he encourages us to see our own potential. From the first day in his classroom, Mr. White stood out. He is incredibly smart, but never makes anyone feel small for not knowing something. He is funny in a way that feels natural, not forced, and his sense of humor makes learning feel comfortable instead of stressful. He is also genuinely cool in the way that matters most to students, because he respects us. He talks to us like real people, listens to our ideas, and relates to us in ways that make school feel less like an obligation and more like a place where growth can happen. One of the things I appreciate most about Mr. White is how much he truly wants us to learn. He does not rush through lessons or teach just to get through the curriculum. He explains concepts clearly and takes the time to make sure everyone understands before moving on. If someone is confused, he never shows frustration. Instead, he patiently re-explains the material in a different way until it clicks. That patience changed how I see learning. It taught me that not understanding something right away does not mean I am incapable, it just means I need time and the right guidance. Mr. White also gives us the space to grow at our own pace. He understands that everyone learns differently and that real learning does not happen under pressure alone. He gives us time to complete assignments, encourages questions, and creates an environment where mistakes are seen as part of the process, not something to be ashamed of. Because of this, I feel more confident taking on challenges, both in class and in life. I am no longer afraid to try, even if I am unsure at first. What makes Mr. White especially meaningful to me is how relatable he is. He connects with us not just academically, but personally. Something small but memorable is that he likes one of my favorite franchises, Back to the Future. That shared interest might seem minor, but it made him feel more human and approachable. It reminded me that teachers can be passionate about the same things we love, and that success does not mean losing your personality or interests. That realization made me feel more comfortable being myself and embracing what excites me. Because of Mr. White, I approach my life differently now. He makes me want to use my full potential instead of settling for what feels easy. He inspires me to follow my dreams and take my interests seriously. Watching how much care and effort he puts into teaching showed me the impact one person can have simply by believing in others. He taught me that encouragement, patience, and understanding can change someone’s confidence and direction. Mr. White is one of the best teachers I have ever had, not just because of his knowledge, but because of his heart. He changed how I see learning, how I see myself, and how I approach my future. His influence will stay with me long after high school, reminding me to be patient with myself, stay curious, and never stop believing in what I am capable of becoming.
      Uniball's Skilled Trades Scholarship
I am pursuing a trade in automotive technology because it is where my passion, curiosity, and sense of purpose come together. Cars have always fascinated me, not just as machines but as systems that require patience, precision, and problem solving. I enjoy understanding how things work and figuring out how to fix them when they don’t. Automotive technology gives me the opportunity to work with my hands, apply technical knowledge, and see the direct results of my effort. There is something deeply rewarding about taking something broken and making it reliable again, especially knowing that someone’s safety and daily life depend on that work. This trade allows me to turn a lifelong interest into a meaningful career that serves others. After completing my trade education, my goal is to build a stable and fulfilling career in the automotive field. I plan to work as a skilled automotive technician where I can continue learning, growing, and gaining hands-on experience. In the long term, I hope to be part of a shop or create one that is known for honesty, quality work, and respect for customers. I also want to give back by mentoring younger students who are interested in trades but may feel unsure of themselves. Automotive technology is a field that values skill, dedication, and persistence, and I want to show others that there are many paths to success beyond traditional routes. Through my career, I aim to be someone people trust, not only for my technical ability but also for my integrity and work ethic. One of the biggest challenges I have faced in my life has been navigating school while having autism and an Individualized Education Program. For a long time, I felt misunderstood and underestimated. Having an IEP sometimes made me feel like people only saw my limitations instead of my potential. There were moments when classmates and even teachers doubted my abilities, and that was discouraging. It was difficult watching others assume that needing support meant I was less capable or less motivated. Instead of letting those struggles define me, I chose to push forward. I learned to advocate for myself, ask questions when I didn’t understand something, and use the tools provided through my IEP to succeed rather than feel ashamed of them. Over time, I realized that my autism also gives me strengths, especially when it comes to focus, attention to detail, and dedication to things I care deeply about. My passion for automotive technology became my anchor. When things felt overwhelming, working with cars reminded me of what I was capable of accomplishing. Staying strong was not always easy, but I refused to give up. I learned resilience by showing up every day, even when it felt harder for me than for others. I learned confidence by proving to myself that I could succeed through effort and persistence. These experiences shaped who I am today. They taught me patience, determination, and empathy for others who may be struggling in ways that are not immediately visible. My journey has shown me that adversity does not have to stop you. It can strengthen you. Pursuing a trade in automotive technology is not just a career choice for me, it is a statement that I believe in my abilities and my future. With the right education and support, I am ready to build a life defined by skill, passion, and perseverance.

I am a young man driven by curiosity, creativity, and a deep love for cars. From a very early age, automobiles were more than just transportation to me. They were puzzles waiting to be solved, machines with personalities, and symbols of freedom and possibility. I was not raised in the foster care system, but I did grow up learning early the importance of independence, responsibility, and believing in myself even when the road ahead felt uncertain. Cars became my constant. I found joy in understanding how engines work, how sound changes with speed, and how a small mechanical fix can bring something broken back to life. Over time, that interest grew into a serious passion and a clear goal. I plan to earn an Associate of Occupational Studies in Automotive Technology so I can turn what I love into a lifelong career that also serves others. What excites me most about automotive technology is how practical and impactful it is. Vehicles are essential to daily life. People rely on them to get to work, take their children to school, attend medical appointments, and stay connected to their communities. When a car breaks down, it can disrupt everything. I want to be someone people can trust in those moments. Someone who not only fixes the problem but explains it clearly and treats every customer with respect. I am also a creative person. I enjoy making videos and expressing myself through visual storytelling, and I hope to combine that creativity with my automotive career. I plan to use social media and local outreach to educate people about car maintenance, safety, and basic repairs. Many people are intimidated by cars or feel taken advantage of because they do not understand what is wrong with their vehicle. I want to change that by making automotive knowledge more accessible and less intimidating, especially for young people and first time drivers. Receiving my degree will allow me to make a positive impact on my community in tangible ways. I hope to work in or eventually open a shop that offers honest pricing, apprenticeships for students interested in trades, and occasional free or low cost services for those facing financial hardship. Reliable transportation should not feel like a luxury. It is a necessity, and I want my work to reflect that belief. Education has taught me discipline, patience, and the value of consistent effort. Automotive technology is not just about tools and engines, it is about problem solving, precision, and accountability. Every repair is a responsibility. Someone’s safety depends on the quality of my work, and I take that seriously. This scholarship would support more than just my education. It would support my mission to build a future rooted in skill, service, and passion. I am motivated, focused, and excited about what lies ahead. With an Associate of Occupational Studies in Automotive Technology, I will not only build a career for myself, but also give back to the community that shaped me, one car and one person at a time.

Growing up with an IEP and autism came with challenges that were sometimes difficult to face, both academically and socially. One of the hardest aspects was dealing with bullying and judgment from peers, teachers, and even people I considered friends. Because I learned differently, I was often misunderstood. My classmates would make fun of me for needing extra support, and some teachers underestimated my abilities, assuming I was not capable of handling advanced work. There were times when I doubted myself, when the teasing and undermining made me feel like I didn’t belong or that my dreams were out of reach. Despite these challenges, I refused to let others define my potential. I persevered by focusing on my own abilities and believing in myself. I worked hard to achieve strong grades, challenging myself in AP classes and maintaining the dedication needed to succeed academically. I learned to use my differences as strengths rather than obstacles. My autism gives me unique perspectives, intense focus, and a passion for learning in ways that others may not fully understand. What once made me feel “different” now feels like a source of pride and identity it is a part of who I am, and it makes me special. Part of overcoming these challenges was building resilience. Whenever someone doubted me or made me feel less than, I reminded myself of my goals and my vision for the future. I focused on vocational school as a path where I could combine my passions with tangible skills, especially in the automotive field, which has always inspired me. I discovered that persistence, discipline, and self-belief are far more powerful than the negativity of others. Each success, no matter how small, reinforced my confidence and proved to myself that my learning differences did not limit what I could achieve. I also learned the value of self-advocacy. By understanding my needs and strengths, I could seek the accommodations and support that allowed me to thrive. I stopped letting negative opinions dictate my self-worth and instead focused on my growth, creativity, and curiosity. I began to embrace my uniqueness, recognizing that it gave me a perspective and approach to life that others might not have. What once felt like a barrier became a defining part of my identity and an asset I could carry into my future. My motivation to continue my education comes from this journey of resilience and self-discovery. I want to show that having an IEP or being autistic is not a limitation but a different way of experiencing the world—one that can lead to incredible growth, creativity, and success. I am driven to pursue vocational school, to become a skilled automotive mechanic, and to one day inspire others, especially those who feel underestimated or different, to embrace their abilities and pursue their dreams. My past experiences have taught me that challenges are not roadblocks—they are opportunities to prove to myself what I am capable of achieving. Ultimately, overcoming the challenges of my IEP and autism has shaped who I am today a determined, resilient, proud man. It has fueled my dedication to education and motivated me to keep striving for success, no matter the obstacles. My experiences have given me confidence that I can achieve my goals, make a meaningful impact, and use my skills and passion to inspire others to believe in themselves, just as I have learned to believe in myself.

I am someone who has always been drawn to understanding how things work and using my hands to create, fix, and improve. From a very young age, cars captured my attention in a way nothing else did. Their engines, designs, and the intricate systems that make them run sparked a curiosity in me that quickly became a lifelong passion. Over the years, that fascination has grown into a clear career goal: to become an automotive mechanic and eventually open my own shop, where craftsmanship, creativity, and care are valued above all else. My journey has not been without challenges. As someone with autism, I have often felt misunderstood or overlooked, especially when my interests seemed intense or unconventional. For a long time, people didn’t understand why cars mattered so much to me, or why I dedicated hours to studying them, learning repairs, and even creating content around my passion. I realized early on that pursuing what I love requires persistence, resilience, and self-belief. That mindset has not only guided me in my personal goals but also shaped the way I approach helping others. I have shared my love for cars through my YouTube channel, where I create content that shows my skills, projects, and creativity. Growing the channel required patience, consistency, and the willingness to push through challenges—even when engagement was low or technical issues made progress slow. Over time, my subscribers and views have grown, reflecting the dedication I put into my work. This experience has taught me that success is not just about talent or passion, but about perseverance, discipline, and the courage to put yourself out there. Helping others has always been just as important to me as pursuing my own goals. I have supported friends through difficult times, offering guidance, reassurance, and a listening ear. I have learned that impact is measured not only by what you accomplish personally, but by how you help others see their potential and feel empowered to pursue their dreams. Being a mechanic will allow me to extend that impact further. Mechanics do more than repair vehicles—they restore independence, safety, and confidence to the people who rely on their work. By approaching every task with dedication and care, I can make a tangible difference in people’s lives every day. My long-term goal is to open my own automotive shop, focusing on restoring older and classic vehicles that others may overlook. I want my shop to be a place where quality, creativity, and skill are celebrated, and where young people, especially those who might feel underestimated, can learn, grow, and find their own passion. Through mentorship and hands-on guidance, I hope to inspire the next generation to value skill, hard work, and resilience. I believe that my future career in automotive mechanics offers a unique way to make a positive impact on the world. By combining my technical skills, creativity, and commitment to helping others, I can contribute to a more empowered, skilled, and inspired community. Cars have shaped my life by giving me purpose, focus, and confidence, and I want to use my career to help others find the same sense of direction and pride. The work I put in today will not only build my future but will also allow me to lift others up, restore confidence and independence, and create a lasting positive impact on the world around me.
Hanif Michael Martin Memorial Scholarship Award
I am passionate about pursuing a career in automotive mechanics because cars have been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. From the time I was six years old, I have been fascinated by the way vehicles work the way engines roar to life, how different systems interact, and how a well-maintained car can carry people safely, reliably, and beautifully through life. Cars are more than machines to me; they are expressions of creativity, craftsmanship, and human ingenuity. My passion for understanding, repairing, and restoring them has grown over the years into a lifelong ambition, one that I am eager to turn into a career. What excites me most about automotive mechanics is the hands-on nature of the work. Learning by doing has always been the way I thrive, and trade education allows me to develop skills directly through practical experience. Diagnosing a problem, figuring out what went wrong, and restoring a vehicle to its full potential gives me an unmatched sense of accomplishment. It is a field where focus, patience, and persistence are rewarded, and where every challenge presents an opportunity to learn and grow. I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of mechanics because no two cars are exactly alike, and every repair requires critical thinking, creativity, and attention to detail. That combination of technical skill and personal investment is exactly what draws me to this trade. My passion is also rooted in the sense of purpose that comes from helping others through my work. Mechanics do more than fix cars they restore independence, safety, and confidence to the people who rely on their vehicles every day. Being able to take something broken or neglected and return it to a state where it can be relied on is profoundly satisfying. I want to be someone whom people trust with their vehicles, knowing that I approach each repair with integrity, skill, and pride. That responsibility motivates me to continually improve, learn, and push myself to excel in this trade. I am particularly drawn to restoring older and classic vehicles. There is something special about bringing life back to cars that have been forgotten or undervalued. These vehicles tell stories, carry memories, and reflect a unique history. Restoring them requires patience, precision, and dedication all qualities that I value deeply. My dream is to work on classics like the Mazda RX-7 FD, blending technical expertise with creativity to honor the craftsmanship that went into these vehicles. I see each car as a project and a challenge, one that allows me to combine skill, passion, and care into a tangible result. My ultimate goal is to open my own automotive shop, where quality, craftsmanship, and dedication are the foundation. I want to create a space where people feel confident bringing their vehicles, where young people and aspiring mechanics can learn, and where passion for the craft is celebrated and encouraged. A career in automotive mechanics is more than a job for me it is a way of life. It allows me to channel my interests, my curiosity, and my determination into work that is meaningful, impactful, and continuously challenging. Automotive mechanics is a career where perseverance meets creativity, where technical skill meets problem-solving, and where passion meets purpose. It is a field that challenges me, motivates me, and inspires me to be my best every day. I am eager to dedicate myself to this path, knowing that through hard work, persistence, and continual learning, I can build a career that is both personally fulfilling and meaningful to others.

To me, work ethic means showing dedication, responsibility, and consistency in everything I do, even when it is challenging or inconvenient. It is the willingness to put in the effort, remain disciplined, and push through obstacles to achieve a goal. Work ethic is not just about doing what is required; it is about taking pride in your work, striving for excellence, and never settling for mediocrity. It is a mindset that drives you to improve, learn, and persevere, even when results are not immediate. Strong work ethic reflects who you are as a person and the level of respect you have for your goals, your craft, and the people who depend on you. Work ethic is highly prevalent in my life, shaping how I approach both personal and professional challenges. For example, I have spent years building and maintaining my YouTube channel, a project that requires creativity, technical skill, and consistency. There were times when making videos was frustrating or when engagement was slow, but I continued to push myself to improve. I spent hours learning editing, filming techniques, and content strategies, and I never let initial setbacks discourage me. My persistence paid off, and today my channel has grown, with subscribers and viewers that reflect the hard work and dedication I invested. This experience taught me that work ethic is about commitment and patience, and it is what allows dreams to become tangible achievements. My work ethic also extends to how I support others. When a close friend was going through a difficult time, experiencing nightmares and emotional distress, I remained present, patient, and consistent in offering help. I talked her through her fears, reassured her, and stayed by her side, demonstrating that dedication and reliability are as important in relationships as they are in personal projects. Helping her navigate that challenge reinforced the value of persistence and responsibility, showing me that work ethic is not only about personal gain but also about the effort you put into supporting and uplifting others. Additionally, my passion for becoming an auto mechanic is deeply connected to work ethic. The automotive field requires patience, attention to detail, and a willingness to problem-solve even when solutions are not immediately clear. I am committed to mastering the skills, knowledge, and craftsmanship required to succeed in this trade. My work ethic drives me to learn continuously, practice consistently, and maintain pride in every task I complete. It is the foundation of my dedication to my future career and the impact I hope to make. In every aspect of my life, work ethic is the force that pushes me forward. It shapes how I approach challenges, how I pursue my passions, and how I show up for others. It is the principle that allows me to turn persistence into success, creativity into results, and passion into meaningful work.

To me, Black excellence is the celebration, acknowledgment, and continuous pursuit of achievement, leadership, and progress within the Black community. It is seeing people who share my skin tone accomplish things that previous generations could only dream of, sometimes just barely a hundred years ago. Black excellence is about breaking barriers, overcoming obstacles, and creating opportunities where none existed before. It is about showing resilience, ambition, and brilliance in spaces where society has too often underestimated or ignored our potential. From leaders in politics to innovators in healthcare, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, and community organizers, Black excellence represents the tangible and inspiring achievements of Black people who refuse to be confined by stereotypes or systemic limitations. It is about lifting each other up, sharing knowledge, and creating paths for others to succeed while making our voices heard in ways that are unapologetically and authentically Black. I embody Black excellence in my everyday life by striving to uplift and empower those around me while pursuing my own goals with dedication and passion. I believe excellence is not only measured by personal achievement but by how you use your skills, time, and energy to inspire and support others. I work to celebrate the accomplishments of my fellow Black sisters and brothers, whether through encouraging their ambitions, amplifying their voices, or recognizing their contributions in spaces where their achievements might otherwise go unnoticed. For me, Black excellence is also about representation—seeing Black people in positions of influence, leadership, and creativity reminds me that our community is capable of shaping industries, policies, and culture. It motivates me to hold myself to high standards and to contribute meaningfully wherever I can, because progress is made stronger when it is shared. In my life, I actively practice Black excellence by setting ambitious goals and pursuing them relentlessly while keeping the well-being and empowerment of others in mind. I push myself to learn, create, and innovate, but I also take time to mentor, support, and encourage my peers. I strive to embody the qualities I admire in the leaders and change-makers of our community: resilience, vision, integrity, and empathy. Black excellence, to me, is about showing that Black people can achieve not only for ourselves but for the collective, building legacies that inspire the next generation to dream bigger and reach higher. Black excellence is also about using our achievements to challenge societal barriers and to create more equitable opportunities for others. When I witness Black people succeeding in healthcare, politics, business, and the arts, it reminds me of how far we have come and how much further we can go. It motivates me to pursue my passions without fear, to refuse limitations placed by systemic inequities, and to actively participate in spaces where Black voices and perspectives can make a difference. Every accomplishment, no matter how big or small, contributes to a larger narrative of empowerment, visibility, and pride. In essence, Black excellence is more than success, it is resilience, representation, leadership, and impact. It is about breaking cycles of limitation and inspiring others to reach heights once thought unattainable. I embody Black excellence by striving for my own goals while intentionally supporting and celebrating the accomplishments of others in my community, creating spaces where Black voices are heard, respected, and elevated. To me, Black excellence is both a personal commitment and a shared responsibility: it is the knowledge that what I do today has the power to inspire, empower, and uplift generations to come.

I am applying for this scholarship because I am fully committed to pursuing a future in the automotive trade and I understand that meaningful goals require real support. Cars have been a constant and grounding force in my life for as long as I can remember. As someone with autism, I often struggled with feeling misunderstood especially when it came to how deeply I connect to my interests and how intensely I focus on what I love. Cars became the place where everything made sense. When I am working with engines, diagnosing problems, or learning how systems function together, my mind feels clear and focused. Automotive work gave me confidence when traditional environments made me doubt myself. Trade education is where I thrive because it allows me to learn through hands-on experience, repetition, and real-world application. However, pursuing this path also comes with financial challenges that can make continuing difficult. This scholarship would allow me to focus on learning, improving my skills, and fully committing myself to my education without the constant pressure of financial strain. It would give me the stability I need to grow into the professional I am working hard to become. I want to be an auto mechanic because the work is skilled, purposeful, and deeply impactful. Mechanics are trusted with more than vehicles they are trusted with people’s safety, independence, and daily lives. I am drawn to this responsibility because I take pride in doing things the right way, even when it takes more time and effort. My passion lies especially in restoring older and classic cars that require patience, care, and attention to detail. These vehicles carry history and meaning, and I want to be someone who preserves that rather than letting it disappear. In the future, I plan to open my own automotive shop built on honesty, craftsmanship, and respect for both customers and cars. I also want to make an impact by creating a space where others, especially young people and neurodivergent individuals, feel welcomed and valued in the skilled trades. I know what it feels like to be overlooked or underestimated, and I want to be someone who proves that passion, focus, and dedication matter more than fitting a traditional mold. I believe skilled work is essential to strong communities, and I am determined to contribute to the automotive industry not just as a mechanic, but as a mentor and role model. This scholarship is not just financial help it is an opportunity to continue building a future rooted in skill, integrity, and purpose, and I am ready to honor that opportunity through hard work and commitment.

Helpfulness, persistence, and perseverance have been defining parts of my life, shaping how I support others and how I pursue my own goals. Whether through creativity, friendship, or personal ambition, I have learned that showing up consistently for yourself and for others is what truly makes a difference. One of the clearest ways I have demonstrated persistence is through my YouTube channel. Creating content is not easy. It requires creativity, discipline, and the willingness to keep going even when progress feels slow or uncertain. There were moments when views were low, motivation was tested, and it would have been easier to stop. Instead, I chose to persist. I continued learning, improving my content, and sharing my passion with the world. Over time, that dedication paid off. My channel grew, gaining subscribers and views that reflect years of effort and belief in my craft. This experience taught me that persistence is not about instant success it is about commitment, patience, and trusting the process. Running my channel also allowed me to fuse creativity with purpose. It showed me the power of building something from the ground up and staying dedicated even when challenges arise. That same mindset is what drives my desire to become a mechanic. Working with cars requires persistence, problem-solving, and resilience. Repairs rarely go perfectly the first time, but perseverance leads to solutions. My experience as a content creator mirrors the mindset needed in the automotive field learning from mistakes, improving skills, and never giving up when things get difficult. Helpfulness has also been a central value in my life, especially when it comes to supporting the people around me. I make a conscious effort to uplift my friends and help them see their own worth. Encouraging others to believe in themselves is something I take seriously, because I know how powerful reassurance and understanding can be. Sometimes the most meaningful help is simply reminding someone who they are when they begin to forget. One of the most significant examples of my helpfulness occurred when a close friend was going through an extremely difficult time. She was experiencing recurring nightmares and emotional distress that left her feeling afraid and alone. I stayed with her through those moments, talking her through the fear, reminding her that she was not at fault, and reassuring her that I was not going anywhere. I listened without judgment and offered comfort when she needed it most. Supporting her through one of the hardest periods of her life required patience, empathy, and consistency, but I never hesitated. Being present for her was not a choice it was a responsibility I took to heart. Even as I faced my own challenges, I remained committed to being a source of strength for her. That experience taught me that true helpfulness is not about having all the answers, but about being reliable, compassionate, and willing to stand beside someone when life feels overwhelming. It reinforced my belief that perseverance applies not only to personal goals, but also to relationships. Through persistence in my creative pursuits and unwavering support for others, I have learned the value of dedication and empathy. These experiences continue to guide my goals and my approach to life. Whether I am building a career, creating content, or supporting the people I care about, I remain committed to showing up, working hard, and helping others whenever I can.

Living with autism has shaped the way I experience the world in both challenging and powerful ways. One of the biggest challenges I have faced is feeling misunderstood especially when it comes to my interests, communication style, and the way I express passion. From a young age, I learned that thinking differently often means being judged differently. While others seemed to move easily through social expectations, I struggled with feeling accepted and understood. One of the clearest examples of this has been my deep passion for cars. Cars are not just a hobby for me; they are a special interest that brings focus, calm, and purpose into my life. However, not everyone understood that. People often dismissed my interest as “too intense” or impractical, and I was sometimes made to feel like I needed to tone it down to fit in. When I started sharing my love for cars through a YouTube channel, I faced skepticism and criticism. Some people didn’t understand why it mattered so much to me, while others underestimated my ability to turn that passion into something meaningful. Autism also made traditional learning environments difficult. Classrooms that relied heavily on lectures, abstract concepts, and constant social interaction were overwhelming at times. Sensory overload, anxiety, and communication barriers made it harder to stay engaged, even when I cared deeply about learning. For a while, this made me doubt myself and my future. I questioned whether I could succeed in an education system that didn’t always accommodate how my mind works. What helped me overcome these challenges was learning to embrace how I learn best. I discovered that hands-on work allows me to focus, think clearly, and feel confident. Working with cars gave me structure and a sense of control in a world that often felt chaotic. Diagnosing a problem, understanding how systems interact, and fixing something with my own hands helped me develop patience, resilience, and problem-solving skills. Cars gave me a way to communicate without words through action, skill, and results. I am pursuing the automotive mechanic trade because it aligns perfectly with my strengths. The automotive field values precision, focus, and deep technical knowledge qualities that autism has helped me develop. Being able to channel my special interest into a career has been empowering, because it turns something I was once judged for into something valuable. Another challenge I have faced is acceptance—both from others and myself. It took time to understand that autism is not a weakness, but a different way of thinking. I learned to advocate for myself, ask for understanding when needed, and stay confident in my goals even when others doubted them. Building my YouTube channel, continuing to learn about cars, and choosing a trade path helped me reclaim pride in who I am. My goal is to become a professional automotive mechanic and eventually open my own shop, specializing in restoring older and classic cars. I also hope to create a space where people like me especially neurodivergent individuals feel respected and valued for their skills. Skilled trades matter because they rely on dedication, trust, and real ability. They keep people safe, preserve history, and build communities. Despite the challenges autism has brought, it has also given me clarity, focus, and passion. I have learned that success doesn’t come from fitting into someone else’s mold, but from embracing who you are and building a future around it. I am proud of the path I am on and confident that my differences will continue to be my strength as I pursue a meaningful career in the automotive trade.

I was inspired to pursue a trade and vocational path because working with my hands gave me something I had been searching for purpose. From a young age, cars were more than an interest to me; they were a source of focus, comfort, and motivation. While others saw vehicles as simple transportation, I saw stories, craftsmanship, and potential. Learning how cars worked gave me confidence and direction at times when I needed it most. My passion for the automotive trade began when I was six years old and grew stronger after watching Fast and Furious. What stood out to me wasn’t just the speed, but the bond between people and their cars the pride, dedication, and care poured into every build. That connection inspired me to pursue automotive mechanics, especially restoring older cars that need patience and skill. Classics deserve to be preserved, not abandoned, and I want to be someone who brings them back to life. Along the way, I’ve faced obstacles that made my journey anything but easy. There were moments when traditional education felt disconnected from who I was and how I learned best. I also faced personal challenges that made staying focused difficult at times. Instead of giving up, I leaned into what grounded me learning, fixing, and understanding cars. Automotive work taught me resilience. When something doesn’t work, you don’t walk away; you diagnose the problem, adapt, and keep going. That lesson shaped how I approached both my education and my life. Choosing a trade path wasn’t always encouraged, but I learned to trust myself and my goals. Skilled work matters because it keeps the world moving safely and reliably. Mechanics are trusted with people’s lives, livelihoods, and memories. This trade requires accountability, precision, and pride—values I carry with me in everything I do. Skilled workers don’t just fix problems; they create trust and stability within their communities. My goal is to become a professional automotive mechanic, specializing in restoring classic vehicles. One day, I hope to open my own shop where craftsmanship, honesty, and passion come first. This scholarship would help me continue my education by easing financial pressure and allowing me to focus fully on developing my skills. It would bring me closer to earning certifications, gaining hands-on experience, and building the foundation for a successful career in the automotive industry. I plan on pursuing my education through a trade school because it aligns with how I learn, what I value, and the future I want to build. Trade school offers a direct, hands-on path that turns passion into skill and effort into expertise. For me, learning has always been most meaningful when I can apply it in real time, and trade school provides exactly that an environment where knowledge is earned through experience. From a young age, I discovered that working with my hands gave me a sense of focus and purpose. Traditional classroom settings often felt distant from the real world, while hands-on learning allowed me to fully engage and understand concepts in a deeper way. Trade school bridges that gap by teaching practical skills that translate directly into a career. It offers structure, discipline, and real-world relevance, all of which motivate me to succeed. I am pursuing the automotive mechanic trade because cars have been a constant source of direction and stability in my life. Learning how vehicles work taught me patience, problem-solving, and resilience. When something doesn’t work, you don’t give up you diagnose the issue, adjust, and keep trying. That mindset has shaped the way I approach challenges both inside and outside of education. Trade school allows me to refine that mindset into a professional skill set. Another reason I am choosing trade school is the value it places on craftsmanship. In the automotive industry, quality work matters. People trust mechanics with their safety, their livelihoods, and often something they deeply care about. Trade school emphasizes accountability and precision, teaching students to take pride in their work. That sense of responsibility excites me because I want to build a career rooted in trust and integrity. Trade school also provides a clear and focused path forward. Rather than spending years exploring options that may not align with my goals, trade school allows me to invest my time and energy into a field I am deeply passionate about. The structured training, certifications, and mentorship opportunities give me confidence that I am preparing for a stable and meaningful career. It is an education with purpose. Beyond technical skills, trade school prepares students for real life. It teaches time management, teamwork, communication, and discipline skills that are essential in any career. The automotive trade, in particular, requires collaboration and adaptability, especially as technology continues to evolve. Trade school equips students to keep learning and growing within their field, rather than being limited by it. Ultimately, I am pursuing trade school because I want an education that leads somewhere tangible. I want to wake up every day knowing my work matters and that my skills make a difference. Trade school represents independence, growth, and opportunity. It is not a backup plan for me it is a deliberate and passionate choice. Through trade school, I am choosing a future built on skill, dedication, and pride in my work. It is the foundation for the life and career I am committed to building, and it reflects my belief that success comes from doing what you love and doing it well.

From the time I was six years old, cars have been more than metal, engines, and wheels to me they have been a constant source of comfort, purpose, and inspiration. When life felt overwhelming or uncertain, cars were always there, offering something steady to focus on and something meaningful to understand. What began as curiosity grew into a passion that has guided me through different stages of my life and continues to shape who I am becoming. My love for cars truly took hold the first time I watched Fast and Furious. While many people were drawn to the speed and action, I was captivated by the connection between people and their cars. Each vehicle carried personality, history, and emotion. Those cars represented dedication, loyalty, and the power of craftsmanship. From that moment on, I knew that the automotive world was where I belonged. Cars have helped me in ways I did not fully understand at first. Learning about engines, repairs, and mechanical systems gave me focus when I needed it most. Working with cars taught me patience because nothing works perfectly the first time and resilience, because problems are meant to be diagnosed, not avoided. When something breaks, you don’t give up; you learn, adjust, and fix it. That mindset has stayed with me and has helped me face challenges in my own life. I want to become a mechanic because I believe cars deserve care, time, and respect. The automotive industry is built on problem-solving, skill, and trust. As a mechanic, you are not just repairing vehicles you are restoring reliability, safety, and pride for the people who depend on them. I want to be someone others can trust with something important to them. There is something deeply fulfilling about bringing a car back to life and knowing your hands and knowledge made that possible. My greatest passion lies in restoring older cars that need patience and attention. Classics are not outdated; they are stories waiting to be continued. Every scratch, engine sound, and worn part tells a story of where that car has been. I dream of working on and restoring beautiful classics, especially a Mazda RX-7 FD, my dream car. That car represents precision, creativity, and soul everything I admire about the automotive industry. One day, I hope to open my own shop, a place where craftsmanship matters and every car is treated with care. I want my shop to be known not just for quality work, but for passion and honesty. I also hope it becomes a space where others especially young people can learn, grow, and find confidence through automotive work. The industry gave me direction, and I want to help pass that on. If you ask anyone who knows me, they will tell you that cars are my one true passion. Fixing cars is not just something I want to do it is the life I want to build. The automotive industry allows me to combine creativity, technical skill, and heart into one purpose. Through cars, I found something I believe in, something that keeps me grounded, and something worth dedicating my future to. Cars didn’t just help me find a career path they helped me find myself.
