I am a first-year Master of Public Health student specializing in Applied Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I grew up in an underserved minority community, and much of my passion for public health comes from witnessing how structural inequities shaped the lives of people around me. A defining moment for me was watching my father stand before a judge who saw his circumstances rather than his humanity—an experience that pushed me to pursue an educational path rooted in justice, healing, and service.
I earned my B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Howard University, where I discovered my commitment to advocacy and community empowerment. As I continue my graduate studies, I am focused on addressing health disparities, improving access to care, and creating interventions that support marginalized populations. My educational journey is driven by the belief that compassion, representation, and data-driven action can help transform communities like the one I come from. I hope to use my training to create meaningful, equitable change for those who are too often overlooked.
