My life goal is to become a flight paramedic.
My background started in firefighting and EMS. I am currently an EMT looking for the funds to be able to go to medic school.
I volunteer at a fire department in a small town in Kiowa Colorado and am an EMT in Denver Colorado.
There's nothing else on this planet I'd rather be doing in my life than saving others and changing lives in any way I can.

I am a new EMT and am currently working my first EMT job at DispatchHealth while also a volunteer Firefighter/EMT at Kiowa Fire for over a year now. Working with Kiowa Fire has taught me resilience, compassion, dedication, loyalty, and true passion. I thank the firefighters and EMTs that work there for motivating me and always being there for me in times of need.
I'm a child of a messy divorce that still affects my daily living even as a 20 year old I still have my struggles and Kiowa Fire has been there for me. I've grown to see that in the career field we become family with each other. Even the individuals I met in EMT school are still close with me because the bonds you make are very specific and irreplaceable. Working as a brand new EMT out in the real field, I've experienced laughter, true connections, incredible learning opportunities, humbling situations, tears, hugs, and lots and lots of "thank you's." It's a journey that I can't wait to expand on and see and experience more.
I plan to take an IV certification course in July then go on to get my phlebotomist certification and in the Fall 2025 I am starting a paramedic preparation program to prepare me for paramedic school in 2026. After I am a certified paramedic with all the experience I need, I plan to take the next steps to becoming a flight medic. Being a flight medic is a lifelong dream of mine. Nothing is as fascinating to me as being on a helicopter and performing life saving interventions to a patient. I'm blessed with the opportunity to perform these interventions on street ambulances however the thought of becoming something greater than what I am now is beyond my wildest dreams.
Clearly I've got quite the plan coming up but I couldn't be more excited and with being 20 years old and trying to live on my own this scholarship would greatly help me in ways I can't begin to explain. With the costs of EMT school (I'm still paying the loans back), future IV and phlebotomist certifications, paramedic preparation courses, and paramedic school, the thought of how I'm going to cover the cost of this puts an unimaginable stress onto my shoulders as an independent female since 18 years old. Truly anything helps offset the costs of my education no matter how big or how small.
