1. Outside of golf, I am actively involved with the Howard University School of Business. I serve as the Vice President of the International Business Society and as the Community Service Chair on the School of Business Council. Additionally, I am the Social Media Chair for Morgan's Message, an organization dedicated to supporting mental health with a focus on student-athletes. I also hold membership in the Black Women in Pre-Law Society, where I work to collobrate with women who have similar interest for their future. I am a member of the Howard University Georgia Club as well. When I am away from campus, I enjoy volunteering for the Henry County Special Olympics and the Dutchtown High School Golf Team. 2. I am studying International Business with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Spanish. I was compelled to study business because of the unique intersection it has with golf, a sport where many connections and deals are made on the course. Wanting to be part of those conversations, I found it only fitting to pursue a business degree. This allows to be better understand the conversations that are happening on and off the course. I have also found that studying business allows me to comprehend the financial struggles that those in my community may have and the resources needed to combat those problems. To expand further, I specifically chose the international side of business because I enjoy learning about and experiencing different cultures and the unqiue persepctive they provide. Additionally, I am learning Spanish, and I hope that, combined with my International Business degree, it will help propel my career in the future. 3. During my time in college, I have found great pleasure in volunteering with children in sports. I have volunteered with the Henry County Special Olympics, a rewarding position where I support athletes as they work towards their goals. I also volunteer with the Dutchtown High School Golf team when I am home for the summertime and during breaks. I truly enjoy getting to work the highschoolers as they learn the game, and they always manage to put a smile on my face. Post-graduation, I hope to start an organization that teaches young girls of color golf by providing free lessons, clubs, and clothing. Within this organization, I also aim to impart financial skills that the girls can leverage in the future. Additionally, I plan to become an attorney and provide free legal services to those who need assistance but cannot afford it. 4. Being a recipent of this scholarship would impact my collegiate expereince as it would help relieve a large financial burden. My parents currently have two children enrolled in college right now, so it is difficult working to pay for both of us to go to school to recieve our education. This scholarship would not only work towards relieving this financial burden, but it would also enchance my collegiate expereience, as I will be able to better focus solely on golf and school while remaining involved on campus.

1. Outside of golf, I enjoy serving the DC/Maryland/Virginia community as a member of Circle K. In this community service club, we attend events to help engage the community, such as packing groceries in DC communities for those in need or volunteering with children. Additionally, I enjoy being the social media chair for a club called Morgan's Message which helps spread awareness about mental health, specifically among student-athletes. I value this role as it is an essential platform for the student-athletes at Howard University. Lastly, back home during the summer, I enjoy volunteering with children through tutoring or golf camps. 2. After obtaining my undergraduate degree, I will attend law school to earn my JD. Upon graduating from law school, I plan to contribute to my community by volunteering my services in my spare time to those who may need legal guidance but cannot afford an attorney. Additionally, I hope to be able to help start a girl's summer golf camp or a girl golf program in which I will help other young African American girls learn the game of golf. While golf may be a sport, by assisting young girls in learning golf, I will inspire them to take advantage of various excellent opportunities and great networking opportunities that can serve as a foundation for their career and personal lives. 3. I plan to take advantage of the rest of my time in college by working extremely hard on and off the course. I am also taking advantage of the opportunities and people I am getting to meet by networking, asking questions, staying engaged, and being willing to put myself in uncomfortable positions. While my time in college will come to a close quickly, my goal is to continue to challenge myself to try new things and discover areas of the world that may be foreign to me. 4. Being a recipient of this scholarship would mean the world to me as it would relieve some of the financial stress my family has experienced trying to help pay the remainder of my tuition and, starting next year, my sister's tuition. Additionally, it would allow me to engage more on campus and with my peers, as I wouldn't need to spend as much time figuring out how to pay for the rest of the tuition between golf practice and school. Overall, it would be an incredible stress reliever going into my junior fall semester.

I always thought letter jackets were fashionable. I may have drawn inspiration from the "cool jocks" I saw in the classic high school movies or the "cool high schoolers" I saw roaming around at Friday night football games. Either way, I knew that I had to have one. But, I knew that I had no desire to play any sport that involved running and I refused to keep swimming after middle school. As a result, I settled back into golf. This fascination with becoming a varsity athlete led to my rediscovery of golf. My parents introduced me to the game at a young age by signing me up for a golf camp. However, it wasn't love at first sight. I thought the game was slow-paced and honestly, boring. But after I discovered the game's ability to provide me with a letter jacket, I was excited to get back into it. As I progressed throughout high school, I became more competitive and thrived on that energy as my game matured. By my sophomore year, I had been in high-level junior competitions, which opened my eyes to a world I didn't know existed. Without golf, I wouldn't be the person I am today. Through golf, I've learned how to socialize and network with people I would never have dreamed of speaking with. As I continue to play golf as a collegiate athlete, it never fails to provide me with new experiences that I will cherish for a lifetime. I've met significant people, including former President of The United States, Barack Obama during a simple day at practice. I've been offered the opportunity to travel to iconic places such as Pinehurst, and I've been able to share a little bit of my story and how I think the game of golf can be more diverse and inclusive to important people such as the CEO of the USGA, Mike Whan. It’s inevitable that the lessons I have learned in golf will travel with me for a lifetime. I've learned to maintain a positive attitude even when things are going bad and persevere through tough times, which I consistently lean on everyday. No matter what path I take in life and how hard it may seem, golf has provided me with the confidence that I will be able to get through anything. Golf has impacted the way I view myself and more importantly, how I view the world around me. It has impacted how I tackle life by providing me with the knowledge of how to be disciplined and stick to a routine. It’s essentially impacted everything about my entire life - including both my personality, morals, and concept of life. My hope is that I will be able to continue to advocate for and encourage more young women who look like me to participate in the great game of golf. I believe in the importance of growing the game and making an impact on others. I could not be more grateful to where my fascination of getting a varsity letter jacket and my clubs has led and will continue to lead me.
