Bio

I am on Bold.org to increase my chances of winning financial aid so I can attend a school with a reputable engineering program. I plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. What I plan to o with this degree is delve into the musical aspect and create amplifiers, pedals and other electronic gadgets for the many musicians out there in the world. As a musician I understand how hard it can be to look at a product and realize that you are not in the position to afford such a device. Coming from a background where all my life has been too close to poverty, I never want to see another musician in dread because they cant afford the devices that they need in order to write and perform, or as I call it: "to make the air dance". I feel that through volunteering for the GOP, San Antonio Public Library, Make a Wish Foundation and other organizations that I was given the opportunity to increase my skills and build character and my greatest desire is to give back to not only my community but to all communities.

      Scholarcash Role Model Scholarship
A short metalhead who had always paid attention to the perception of others and made sure that everything he did was original and creative, that is my brother. My role model has always been my older brother and because of this, he is my closest companion. When I was younger, I never really had a stable adult to follow the footsteps of. Therefore I looked to my older brother as the person to copy and that is exactly what I did. Almost every subject I am interested in (music/literature/drawing/film) is due the fact that my older brother was interested in those subjects. Everything he did made sense and it was always creative in some sort of way. Up until the 10th grade I have always made choices with what I have always thought of as his mindset and therefore I resemble him in almost every single way. Although I have led a life in the exact footsteps of another, I have made sure to be my own person and be the most spontaneous and creative person in the room as he did. I have learned a lot about myself and that is how, by being and doing what feels right. I have been known to be an extremely creative person and especially in the classroom. I have taken risks with essays, tests and extracurriculars confronting certain beliefs with my own and I have always come around the winner. Now my older brother never bothered to take such risks although he supported me and even admired my audacity and pure grit to challenge myself by challenging others and protecting and expressing my perception. This said, I believe in the expression of one's beliefs and whether or not I agree with them. I am proud and thankful that people practice the freedom of speech and I think it is a beautiful concept in which no one can eliminate. My brother is a proud believer of this sense as well and he taught me to believe this way too. I am excessively thankful for the fact that I was able to learn this habit from such an outstanding human being. Even though I believe he is a great person, as I have grown up I have learned that he is not the most successful person and that even now I have surpassed him academically and socially. I find it amusing that I have always looked up to such a person even though that person never applied themselves to school, that person never cared to make friends, and that person has never bothered to acquire a substantial job or keep a romantic relationship. Although, that person is talented, that person is handsome and charming, that person understands the viewpoint of others and that person has the backbone and gall to question the legitimacy of what may seem like someone in the wrong .That person quite literally raised me and has produced a fine young man known as myself. And I am proud to say it.
