I read books multiple times a month.
I received a B.S. in Psychology at the University of Florida with a minor in Spanish and Teaching English. After graduation I began my Fulbright grant abroad in Mexico teaching English and practicing my Spanish abilities. Afterwards, I pursed my MS. Ed in Counseling Psychology. I engaged in research focused on community mental health of Black Lexingtonians in the Neighborhood Healers Project and documenting the history, culture, achievements, and contemporary experiences of people of Hispanic descent living in Kentucky with my work in the Kentucky Hispanic Heritage Project. My research interests include increasing accessibility and removing taboos of mental healthcare in marginalized communities and advocating for the Latinx community. I am currently in my first year at Loyola University Chicago pursuing my PhD in Counseling Psychology. As a counseling psychologist, I aim to provide culturally competent care to diverse communities and am committed to promoting multicultural and social justice work in Psychology. In my free time I love watching movies, reading, and caring for my orchids.
