Hello! My name is Ivy, and I am a current high school senior (CO 2024). I am majoring in Neuroscience/Psychology in college, with an intent of going pre-med. My experience as a licensed Emergency Medical Responder and senior center worker has only reinforced my desire to work in patient care. I have spent over 250 hours on the ambulance in the past year, and have also spent upwards of 150 hours doing other volunteer work. I was honored to earn the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (Gold). I am also passionate about universal health care and the public health aspect of medicine. I have contributed to the passing of several healthcare related legislative acts. With College911.net, I contributed to the COREY Safety Act (S. 2461/H.R 4903), and passed the CT Public Act 21-184 (bipartisan support), both ensuring that colleges publicly report deaths/injuries. This encourages transparency and investment in safer infrastructure, which saves lives. Additionally, as the older sister to three younger brothers and the child of immigrants, I have learned hard work and determination. I am always interested in learning new things, and am eternally grateful for the opportunities that these scholarships provide in allowing me to advance my education!
