Bio

My life goals are to help my family financially. For years, my family has struggled with finding and getting jobs. Apart from that my desire is to be able to help with car repairs. From my own cars to my parent's cars, and to cars owned by many different people. Cars are the most popular form of transportation. therefore, any repair is costly; both buying the car part and having someone repair it for you. By gaining knowledge on automotive repair, I would be able to spend less as I would be able to repair it myself. I hope to be great at what I want to do, but before that, I need to study hard and take it step by step.

"Learning through my dad's car troubles and the experiences of diagnoses and repairs. One thing that stood out was how expensive repairs and car parts can be. This fact made me reflect on the importance of cars in a person's daily life if not repaired. They help us get to school, work, after-school extracurricular activities, and grocery shopping, making it easy to be where we need to be on a designated day. The significance of cars and their impact on our lives has drawn my attention to a possible career as an automotive mechanic. However, I've encountered a lot of doubt along the way, wondering if I could complete such complex repairs. In the past, I have attempted to complete tasks myself, such as an oil change. Unfortunately, while trying to unscrew the oil pan plug, I damaged it and could no longer get it with my socket wrench. As a result, I had to pay for a new oil drain plug, an oil filter, and a mechanic to remove the damaged drain plug and change the oil for me. Nevertheless, I am hopeful that as I take classes, I will learn how to use the proper tools effectively and gain the skills necessary to make simple to complex repairs. I acknowledge that with the help of ASE-certified professors, I can navigate through all the learning material and eventually feel the fulfillment of repairing my car independently for the first time. I aspire to save money and repair my cars."

As a desire hardwired in my brain between adolescence and adulthood, cars have always been a topic of interest because they take us everywhere. I would go on vehicles such as the Mercury Sable 1993, Chevy Silverado 1995, and Ford Expedition 2000. During this time, I observed how much money my dad spent on getting a muffler change or a stubborn oil pan bolt unscrewed. After the repair, I recall my dad saying, "Look, they make it look easy. Once you learn how to do these repairs' you won't struggle as much as when we do it ourselves...they got paid more in a couple of hours than I do in a week". His words made me realize if I could be an automotive mechanic, I could be able to work on my car and spend less money paying someone else to make repairs for me. It includes helping people get their cars' best performance on the road. To complete my goal, I looked for financial help. While looking for scholarships, I encountered the Tim Williams Automotive Student Scholarship. I was intrigued by the scholarship because of the man himself, Tim Williams. His passion is something I hope to strive for because I want to avoid doing something below the best of my ability; it would not be fair to whomever the job is for. Secondly, his gift of repairing everything and teaching his knowledge to many others is admirable. Like Tim Willams, I hope to put my passion into my work and deliver the best results. Excellent customer service is essential because these vehicles can have a significant meaning to someone. For instance, my dad purchased a 1973 Ford C-10 for Grandpa. After my grandpa passed away, the truck was stationary for two years in a garage. My brother and I recently traveled to Mexico to take it on the road. The tire pressure was low for all wheels, along with the gas tank running low. After refilling everything, we took it to many events, leaving my grandma emotional. She had not ridden in the truck since Grandpa's passing. This example embodies how a car can mean something exceptional; in this case it represents the glimpses of time in one's life and why I value providing excellent customer service in the future. I hope to help people in areas that don't have skilled mechanics in the area. Numerous places like, El Valle de Santiago are in demand for mechanics.
