    Strength in Neurodiversity Scholarship
Throughout my life, I’ve faced a battle to keep up with my education. Issues such as lack of concentration, communication, and anxiety can make it difficult to stay focused. As I got to grammar school, my fears, anxiety, and my desire of wanting to go to school were not there anymore. It has always been clear to me I possess the potential to absorb knowledge, but I know fully that it will unfold at its rhythm, demanding generous amounts of patience and direction. Fortunately, I have been lucky to discover exceptional educational help during my journey and to have a mother who has stood by me, offering unwavering support and being my advocate in all aspects of life. The doctors diagnosed me with ADHD during the 3rd grade, which marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I embarked on a journey of trying different medications to help me, receiving school accommodations, getting a 504 plan and IEPs, visiting various doctors, and attending many meetings felt like a village was coming together to support me in achieving my educational goals. It was a challenging fight, but I was determined to do whatever it took to graduate alongside my friends. With the support of a well-structured plan at school and implementing my Individualized Education Program (IEP) accommodations, I experienced remarkable progress. This help allowed me to excel, achieve high grades, maintain a strong GPA, and create the opportunity to pursue further beyond high school. As a neurodiverse student, I embraced various athletic pursuits and excelled in them.I actively took part in soccer, American football, and cross-country running, demonstrating my versatility and passion for sports Throughout my journey, I faced the challenge of balancing my commitment to sports with the need to excel and attend a University and pursue a degree in kinesiology with a focus on sports management. My ultimate aspiration is to support my siblings and those facing similar challenges and inspire them to pursue their education with passion and determination, regardless of any disabilities they may have. I believe that our potential is limitless, and nothing can hinder us from achieving our dreams. In conclusion, the hardships I faced in my life will always serve as a reminder of all I have endured, and I successfully achieved my goal at the University of Houston in Victoria, Texas. Thank you for allowing us to be heard and get the help we need to continue our education.

    Team USA Fan Scholarship
Serena Williams takes pride of place in my top American athletes as a fantastic tennis player who has been in the game for quite a long time. Her amazing skill and never-give-up attitude are truly amazing. To the girls and women, she is a guide, telling them to boldly take the first steps forward towards becoming a tennis master by showing both her dominance and self-esteem with her posture on the court. Equally important for me is the swim team with their brilliant reporter of swimming success, Michael Phelps - the number of Olympic gold medals won by him is simply unparalleled. His performances are excellent, especially in the beginning and the end of the final straight sprint, when he seems to have a different technique to leave his competitors far behind. If I had to root for any team, then it should be the pro-soccer team, and especially, Christian Pulisic. His being a master on the pitch and imitating Messi's ball domination are things that flood my soul. As a fan from his debut in the States national soccer team around six and half years ago, he remains the gifted and young player I always realized since that time. I strongly believe that one day, he will either accept the trophy or at least play for the Copa Libertadores champion. It will bring indescribable pain when the gifted young player Pulisic misses out on major trophies or important championship events as he ages.

As a young adult who is about to turn 19 next month, the phrase "you have your whole life ahead of you" is often thrown around. While it's true that being young comes with endless possibilities, it's important to acknowledge the various challenges that we face daily. Compared to my father, who was already employed and living on his own at my age, life may have been easier for us as teenagers in this generation. In my family's past generations, there was early child labor and many responsibilities but no freedom, education, or technology. However, this does not mean that we don't experience our own set of struggles. It's easy to feel trapped, as if our lives are not our own, especially when we are constantly trying to meet the expectations of our parents and role models. But it's important to remember that we are the ones who ultimately have control over our lives. While we may not know exactly what we want to do with our lives yet, it's okay to take our time and figure things out at our own pace. They say it gets better the more we grow. As we grow older, the pressure to make wise decisions and learn from our mistakes only increases. However, this is a necessary part of the process. We learn to crawl, talk, walk, and eventually become independent adults who are capable of making our own decisions. It's important to stay positive and keep moving forward, even when things feel uncertain. Despite the challenges, I am excited about what the future holds. I know that with hard work and determination, I can achieve anything that I set my mind to. And while it may be difficult at times, I am confident that I can navigate the ups and downs of life with grace and resilience. It's important to stay positive and be proud of our accomplishments. Progress takes time and effort, just like building a building takes brick-by-brick. We learn, grow, mature, and sometimes laugh at the silly decisions we made in the past. But we were able to fix them and become wiser as we grew. Life is the greatest teacher of all, so we should enjoy it and live up to our full potential while we are young. We must first make ourselves proud before we can make our parents proud. With love, support, and encouragement, anything is possible. Our parents may have achieved great things at our age, but we strive to pave a new path for future generations by pursuing education. Any loving and understanding parent would be proud of their children, even if they are not exact replicas of themselves. I hope that one day my father will come to understand that I will be my teenage dream and not his.

My name is Isai Adrian Quintana and I am the eldest among my siblings, with two younger a brother and a sister. Growing up, I had the privilege of a loving and supportive family, which played a significant role in shaping me into the person I am today. As the first son of an undocumented father and a first-generation Mexican-American mother, I have seen life's many trials and tribulations through a different. I am not just a student with developmental disabilities such as ADHD resulting in speech delays; I am also a fierce competitor on the soccer field, the football gridiron, and the cross-country race track and field - making me a reflection of resilience and perseverance. My parents, by moving us to Texas, allowed us to grow and flourish in a more productive environment. The education system here more than just rote learning, gives importance to different aspects like sports and arts. It provides an inclusive environment for every student despite the existence of certain cognitive abilities and learning disabilities. My daily battle with speech delay like Adhd, hasn't been easy but I am thankful to the Teachers who have implemented individualized education programs for each student ensuring that we aren't left behind. Being born and raised in a family with low-income means hasn't been the easiest of journeys. However, it has certainly molded me into a resilient individual able to appreciate the hardships that life bestows as much as its blessings. Watching my hardworking parents struggle to provide for me like my siblings and themselves a decent life planted in me a resolute desire to change that narrative. They dreamt of cherishing a life drawn from a canvas of abundant opportunities; opportunities that were hard for them to conceive during their lifetime. As their progeny, I am hell-bent on bringing their dreams to reality because I firmly believe that with hard work and determination, dreams can cease to be just dreams. From being the first in our line of five generations to go to college to being a proficient bilingual speaker, fluent in Spanish and English, I have broken traditional barriers. The journey has not been easy, but the pride that comes with breaking familial norms fuels my zeal for greatness To maintain a high standard of academic excellence, I consistently strive to achieve good grades. I have enrolled myself in AP and Dual Classes, challenging myself and my intellectual capacity at each step. I firmly believe that knowledge is power and I am ready to unleash that power to reshape our familial, societal, and cultural structures. An important aspect of being a great soccer player involves maintaining an optimal level of fitness. To ensure I remained at my best, I joined the cross-country team. The experience has served to amplify my stamina, speed, and cardiovascular health, all crucial elements to maintain an edge on the soccer field. I am also the varsity football team's kicker, a role I embraced wholeheartedly to improve my leg strength and kicking accuracy. My dedication to soccer even transcended the boundaries of the sport itself and drove me into the realm of multi-sport versatility. In conclusion, every man is the architect of his destiny. I am sketching mine with the blueprint of my perseverance, hard work, and unyielding faith in my capabilities. I am what I repeatedly do, and therefore, excellence is no act but a habit for me. Whether it is mastering the art of soccer or the sciences of education, the compass of my life goals will stay aligned with my inherent resilience and unwavering commitment
    Gomez Family Legacy Scholarship
My main motivation in life like educationally will be my Mother. My mother became a teen mom, she left home at a very young age and took care of herself without any parental support. Going through major health issues at a young age she had a spine accident that put her in constant pain high-risk surgery missed many days of school, and was no longer able to enjoy doing what she always wanted, in life. At the early age of 17, she found out she had ovarian cancer, thankfully it wasn't a bad cancer, only a few months into her healing, and treatment at the age of 18 I, came into this world. All this happened in what was supposed to be her Senior Year in H.S. Instead of planning her Prom, she was forced to drop out to heal and care for her newborn. My mother, might not have a diploma, but ever since I can remember she has put our education as her main priority always remarking to us that having an education like a career would open doors for a great lifestyle, give us more job security like financial stability, to always pursue our dreams and not let nothing ever hold us down. That if we find the career we love, and pursue it we will never work a day in our life. Being the firstborn son, of Hispanic teen parents, first Generation trying to pursue a career in our family is a goal I want to accomplish, not only for me or my parents but for my siblings like one day my own family. I want to create a path for future generations a legacy of educated hispanos, to motivate and support them in the same way or possibly with more knowledge. My mother, " mi viejita" as I call her is my main support, in this higher education search she is motivating me, guiding me, and helping me, and due to her health issues I have picked my career, so I can help her and support her as she does to me. Without her daily motivational texts like words, she is constantly reminding us, myself like my siblings that one day we will become providers to our families and she wouldn't want to see us struggle the way they struggle to make ends meet, she has been our pillar to become the man I want to become for my wife she's who's deserves my diploma, due to her support I am here and I will strike for more to make them proud, without them and being " ageridos" in our educa us to strike for more always. And due to this matter, I am seeking support to have a career not for me only, but for my future generations to come open the doors I, didn't have available.
    Book Lovers Scholarship
I have a book recommendation that I think everyone should read - Towers Falling. It's a gripping account of how the tragic events of 9/11 impacted people and their communities. Trust me, you won't be able to put it down! Understanding the events of the past and the lessons they teach us is crucial to gaining a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the world we live in today. Therefore, the study of history is an essential component in comprehending the complexities of our society and shaping a better future. It's amazing how incredibly resilient people can be, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges. It's truly inspiring to witness the strength and perseverance of the human spirit. How well we're able to cope, adapt, or 'bounce back' when we experience hardship like trauma In life from building back from the very bottom even when our health has been compromised due to others' wrongful decisions, not only those who passed or those who lost a loved one were - are affected, many still live with guilt-like mental illness issues years later after the attacks due to the impact these events caused them. It's not a fun book to enjoy but more to reflect on our history, it's a book that shares with the respect it deserves, how being a young girl who learns about the unfortunate event and how her father shares with her, how he was personally affected it will make younger generations who didn't witness it or had no knowledge of the occurred events of 9/11 know how it changed the world in many different ways for many and how many are still grieving for their loved ones.

Growing up in the heart of Chicago, Illinois a beautiful inner city - famously known as "The Windy City" - was an absolute short privilege. My home in the Little Village area was rich in culture, where the majority of residents are of Hispanic descent. The vibrant community is filled with authentic Mexican restaurants and traditions, reminiscent of the beautiful country itself. Living in an inner city can be quite a rollercoaster ride, with its fair share of ups and downs. Little Village, for instance, is a neighborhood that's both beautiful and gritty at the same time. However, it's also notorious for being divided by major rival gangs. My mother was born and raised in the same area as me growing up and witnessing it all - the good, the bad, and the ugly. She was determined to give us the best life possible, always reminding us that we deserved better. Her unwavering commitment to our well-being like education has been a constant source of inspiration, driving us to pursue our dreams and reach for the stars. As a mother who loves and cares deeply for her children, she was unwavering in her determination to provide us with the best education, ample opportunities, and a safe environment even in one of the most dangerous cities. She took great care to shield me, like my siblings from all the dangers that plagued our community, including gang violence, drug use, vandalism, theft, and the negative influence of peers. Despite being diagnosed with speech and developmental delays, my parents never let my challenges hold me back. They were determined to provide me with the necessary support and opportunities to succeed in both my personal and academic life. At the age of three, I began receiving at-home head start and by age four, I was attending preschool in the Chicago public school district. Although it wasn't easy waking up and enduring cold winter mornings, I persevered and worked hard to achieve my goals. My parents' unwavering determination and support taught me to never give up and to always strive for success. My personal experience of being in a Chicago classroom was far from ideal, as my kindergarten teacher was frequently absent and substituted with different teachers daily. This constant change of substitutes made it very challenging for me to acquire a proper education and learn valuable lessons for my age like increasing my academic levels. I often felt lost and unsupported, which hindered my academic growth During my educational journey in Chicago, I encountered some challenges. Upon relocating to Texas, I found myself struggling to keep up with my peers who were significantly more advanced. Although I initially began my schooling in Chicago, I completed kindergarten in Texas. Unfortunately, being promoted to first grade without the necessary skills left me feeling overwhelmed, constantly unwell, and disinterested in school. It was a difficult period. Nonetheless, I am grateful that my family decided to move from the city to Conroe, a small rural community where my classmates were all on the same page. While they were learning to read, add, and subtract, I was still working on counting to ten and distinguishing between purple and blue. After leaving Chicago, I am glad that Texas has become my forever home. The teachers here have been incredibly supportive and have helped me create a great education plan. They took the time to evaluate me and placed me in my correct education level. Now, as a senior in high school with a 3.20 GPA, I am taking A.P. classes, Dual Classes, and participating in three different sports at school. All the difficulties I faced earlier have paid off, and I am excited to continue my education in college.
