I read books multiple times a month.
My name is Isabella, and I am currently a 2nd year student at the University of Rochester, majoring in Computer Science. I graduated from a small urban high school in Springfield, Massachusetts, where I was consistently dedicated to academic excellence, graduating with high honors while remaining deeply involved in both extracurricular activities and my local community. During high school, I balanced my academic responsibilities with varsity sports including soccer and softball, and actively participated in student-led organizations such as Student Council, Yearbook Club, Art Club, and other committees. These experiences taught me the value of leadership, teamwork, and advocacy which are skills I continue to carry with me into college. I’ve always been passionate about technology and design, particularly the intersection of computer science and creativity. Now, at the University of Rochester, I’m not only expanding my technical knowledge, but also learning how to navigate spaces where I am often underrepresented with confidence and purpose. Receiving a scholarship would not only ease the financial burden of attending college, but it would also serve as a powerful reminder that students like me from underserved communities, working to redefine what success looks like belong in spaces of innovation and leadership. Thank you again for considering my application. I’m committed to making the most of every opportunity I’m given, and I look forward to continuing my journey with the same drive that brought me here.
