From the moment I first watched an airplane soar through the sky, I knew I wanted to be a pilot. After graduating high school in just three years, I set my sights on Northern Illinois University (NIU), where I am now a senior pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management. This field aligns perfectly with my love for problem-solving and organization and the skills I am confident will serve me well in my aviation career. My time at NIU has been transformative, providing both academic growth and opportunities to lead and inspire. As Vice President of the Justice and Sustainability student organization, I honed leadership skills and gained a deeper appreciation for collaboration and community impact.
My aviation journey truly took flight at Lake in the Hills Airport (3CK), where I earned my Private Pilot’s License (PPL) for Single Engine Land in March 2024. Currently, I am working on my instrument training, a critical step that expands my skill set and prepares me for advanced flight operations. Balancing a rigorous academic schedule with flight training has been challenging, but it has also been deeply rewarding. Every hour in the cockpit has strengthened my determination to excel in this field.
Beyond the technical aspects of flying, I have found immense joy in connecting with others who share my passion for aviation. Since September 2022, I have been an active member of the Ninety-Nines and the EAA Chicago Chapter. These organizations have provided invaluable mentorship, camaraderie, and opportunities to grow within the aviation community.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my journey has been inspiring the next generation of aviators. Through my collaboration with the Ninety-Nines, I actively encourage young students, especially children, to explore careers in aviation. Sharing my experiences and seeing their excitement reaffirms why I embarked on this journey. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that I’m helping shape the future of aviation, one conversation at a time.
As I continue my flight training and academic pursuits, I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to learn, lead, and inspire. The sky is not just the limit, it’s where I feel most at home. My ultimate goal is to merge my skills in supply chain management with my passion for aviation, creating a career that is as dynamic as it is impactful.
With 165 flight hours and counting, I am an aspiring pilot driven by a passion for aviation and a commitment to continuous growth. At NIU, I am enhancing my understanding of inventory management to complement my aviation skills, broadening my perspective on operational efficiency.
I am preparing to apply for the United Aviate program to further my education, expand my career opportunities, and achieve my goal of becoming a professional airline pilot. Dedicated to excellence both in the cockpit and beyond, I am eager to connect with others who share a passion for aviation and innovation.
Every milestone, from earning my PPL to pursuing instrument training, testifies to my dedication and love for flying. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead, knowing that hard work and the support of my community will help me reach new heights.
