I am currently a junior at the University of Miami, double majoring in Applied Physics and Computer Science with minors in Astrophysics and Mathematics. My goal is to one day obtain my doctorate in Astrophysics. I dream of studying the unknown: space and all of its inhabitants. My interest peaked while studying what is known: the coral reefs are dying. This past summer, I had the unique opportunity to participate in a research project that investigated the stress factors that are currently killing our coral reefs. The coral reefs make the ocean habitable, and the ocean makes the Earth habitable. Both known facts. I would like to discover what makes other planets habitable and therefore their inhabitants – unknown facts.
