I am deeply passionate about caring for others and supporting people as they grow and reach their full potential. My interest in healthcare stems from my desire to combine compassion with performance and helping individuals recover and thrive both physically and mentally. I am inspired by the resilience of athletes and the powerful role that dedicated healthcare professionals play in their journeys.
Beyond academics, I find joy in nature and being outdoors. Whether exploring new places, learning about different cultures, or simply spending time outside, I am constantly seeking experiences that broaden my perspective, which is also why I truly enjoy my job as a lifeguard, being outdoors and taking care of others. Music is also an important part of my life which fuels my energy and creativity.
As an Albanian Brazilian, my cultural background has shaped my identity and values. I strongly believe in the importance of family, hard work, and earning success through perseverance. These principles guide my goals and motivate me to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. Through continued education and service, I hope to contribute to the healthcare field while uplifting the communities I serve.

Heart of Service Scholarship – In Memory of Officer Katelyn Tully
The first time I sat down to share a meal with someone I had just met at L’Arche, I realized that service is not about helping from a distance or simply showing up to “help.” It is about building genuine human connection. As we cooked and ate together, conversation flowed naturally, and what began as volunteering quickly became something deeper: a shared experience rooted in trust and community. In that moment, I understood that making a difference is not always about grand gestures, but about truly listening and valuing others.
Service has always been a responsibility I have actively sought out and shaped through leadership and a desire to make a meaningful impact. Through my experiences, I have learned that helping others requires a sustained commitment to uplifting individuals and strengthening the community as a whole.
At my school, I helped start a volunteering organization that has grown into a structured and impactful initiative. As one of the student leaders, I organize opportunities for my peers, coordinate service events, and ensure our efforts are consistent and meaningful. This role has strengthened my leadership skills and taught me how to turn ambition into action. It is one thing to want to help, but another to sustain efforts that make a real difference. Seeing the impact of our work motivates me to continue expanding opportunities for service and encouraging others to recognize their ability to contribute.
My experience with L’Arche continues to shape how I view community and connection. Cooking and sharing meals with individuals with mental and physical disabilities who are working toward greater independence has shown me the power of inclusion in its truest form. As someone who is both Brazilian and Albanian, growing up in a predominantly white community, I deeply value spaces where diversity is embraced and connection is prioritized. L’Arche reinforced that inclusion is built through genuine relationships and mutual respect.
In addition, my work with Fostering Hope New England has allowed me to support children in vulnerable situations while raising awareness within my school community. Alongside other students, I help create personalized bracelets for children awaiting adoption, each one reminding them they are seen, valued, and not alone. I have also helped organize events where social workers share their experiences and contributed to appreciation initiatives recognizing the emotional dedication their work requires. These efforts have strengthened my understanding of perseverance and empathy, showing me that even small gestures can carry profound meaning.
I am also actively involved in my youth group, where I help organize events, assist with clean-up, and welcome new members. Through this, I have learned the importance of consistency in service by supporting others and fostering a sense of belonging. These experiences have strengthened my sense of responsibility and my desire to lead with kindness and integrity.
Each of these experiences has shaped not only how I serve, but why I serve. They have shown me that my ambition lies in building meaningful, lasting connections and making a tangible difference in people’s lives. This has drawn me to pursue a career in healthcare, where I hope to support individuals through challenges and witness the process of healing and growth. I am especially motivated by the opportunity to build relationships with patients, offering not only medical care but also compassion and understanding during vulnerable moments.
Officer Katelyn Tully’s legacy of service, leadership, and kindness reflects the values I strive to embody. Through my continued education and future career, I am committed to carrying forward that spirit by serving others, building connections rooted in empathy, and working to create a more compassionate community.
