Hello my name is Isaac McGill and I am a senior in high school at Greeneville High School in the rural, Appalachian town of Greeneville, Tennessee. I am the captain of both the varsity football and basketball teams and a member of the tennis team. I am also a member of the National Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I play the piano and also enjoy fishing. I am an active member of my church and have been on a couple of mission trips to New Orleans where we distributed aid to the homeless. I also co-organized a gloves, hat and socks drive for the homeless in my community called "Warm Hands, Warm Hearts." I also helped distribute water to flood victims during the recent hurricane flooding we sustained in our area. I've been honored with several scholastic and athletic awards. Most recently I was named the 2024 WCYB Scholar Athlete of the Year! I grew up in a single parent household with my mother. My father, was imprisoned when I was one and then deported to Rwanda, where he is from. While my family has struggled financially, I have been very blessed to live in a loving and supportive environment. I have aspirations to work in business and finance to help others, like myself, who grew up in low income families understand how to budget and invest their money.
