Bio

Hi, I'm Iman. I plan to pursue a career in medicine, specifically pediatrics. I have always had an interest in solving problems and puzzles of all sorts, which is demonstrated in my interests in mathematics, puzzles and board games, and debate. To end the day, I like to play a few word games to help myself unwind from the day's stress. As a minority student, my passion for my future fuels my advocacy efforts with my high school's Black Student Union (BSU) and Muslim Student Association (MSA). As a first generation college student, I don't have many people around me who have gone through the college process to help me. I also know that my parents won't be able to support me financially when the time for college comes. Receiving scholarship money will relieve the financial burden college brings. This will allow me to prepare my college applications without the constant concern of my finances. That way I can have strong applications and essays, get into good schools, and reach my goals.
