My name is Ibrahim Begovic, I am a first generation Bosnian American with a passion for criminal law and politics. I want to use my passion for law in order to help people navigate the complexity of our legal system. My experience with law is limited as of now, however, I had spent 6 months interning for my local prosecutors' office, filing and organizing legal paperwork, answering phone calls and most importantly gaining connections and experience with criminal law.

My family has a long line in law enforcement, but my passion to help all those around me started very young. I currently work in the Missouri Department of Corrections and for me, I deal with individuals who truly are struggling with the idea that their lives could be bettered, regardless of that, I make sure to treat every individual incarcerated with an ounce or more of humanity. Even in my Security job's I make sure everyone I come across knows that I am here to help them, not to punish or scold them. When I go into law enforcement, I would make sure that remember that my duty is to protect and serve the community, not myself.
As I mentioned before, my family has a long history in law enforcement, my uncle serves as a Lieutenant at Saint Louis Community College campuses under their respective University Police, but more substantially my Sergeant at the Northwest Missouri State University Police inspired me the most to go into law enforcement, as he treated everyone with courtesy and most importantly as if their concern was to be seriously looked into.
