Growing up, I faced significant challenges, particularly dealing with depression, which stemmed from both bullying and abuse. Throughout middle school and high school, I was bullied relentlessly. At my first high school, I was physically bullied by peers, which left me feeling powerless and isolated. After transferring to a private Christian school, I thought things would improve, but instead, I encountered verbal bullying and racial profiling. This constant mistreatment took a toll on my mental health, reinforcing feelings of inadequacy and deepening my depression.
Beyond the bullying at school, my home life added another layer of trauma. From middle school through my sophomore year of high school, I was physically abused by my previous stepfather. His rigid, toxic views on masculinity made me feel trapped and silenced. Thankfully, my mother divorced him, but the damage had been done. The emotional and physical trauma I endured haunted me long after, manifesting as anxiety that resurfaced in random, overwhelming moments.
Despite these difficulties, I never turned to drugs or other harmful outlets. Instead, I sought strength through other means. I realized that if I wanted to overcome my depression and trauma, I needed to build a foundation of mental resilience. It wasn't easy, but I had to learn how to defend myself, both physically and emotionally. I had to confront the trauma that kept resurfacing and find ways to manage the anxiety that it caused.
During this time, my mother became my strongest support system. Her unwavering love and encouragement helped me believe that I could rise above my circumstances. I also leaned on the mentors in my life—people who shared their own experiences and wisdom with me. They taught me how to approach life with a sense of purpose and helped me realize that I wasn’t alone in my struggles. Their guidance, combined with my mother’s support, allowed me to see a way forward.
Finding healthy outlets was essential to my healing process. Football became one of my main escapes, giving me an opportunity to channel my emotions and build confidence. Poetry and photography also played a significant role, allowing me to express the feelings I often kept hidden. As I developed a love for business, I created my own company, which gave me a sense of purpose and control over my life. Through these outlets, I not only found relief but also discovered my passions.
Now, I’m a sophomore at Morehouse College, pursuing a double major in Sociology and Finance with a minor in Educational Studies. Being at Morehouse has been transformative. It’s given me the space to grow academically, emotionally, and personally. My experiences led me to create a podcast with a close friend, where we focus on mental health within the Black community. Our podcast serves as a platform for Black men and women to share their stories, discuss mental health openly, and learn how to navigate and overcome challenges in today’s society.
While the journey to this point has been full of hurdles—overcoming abuse, bullying, and the lasting impact of trauma—I am proud of the progress I’ve made. With the support of my family, mentors, and creative outlets, I’ve been able to build a strong foundation for my future. My goal now is to continue growing, both as a student and as an advocate for mental health, while pursuing my passions through education. I believe my experiences have uniquely prepared me to make a difference, not only for myself but for others who face similar challenges.
Ethel Hayes Destigmatization of Mental Health Scholarship
Growing up, my experience with mental health was deeply unstable, profoundly influencing how I viewed myself in the present and the future. The instability affected my relationships and my overall understanding of the world. As a sensitive person, I struggled to manage my emotions, especially in the absence of a father figure and clear direction. My journey through therapy, the challenges of a blended family, and finding outlets for expression have all played critical roles in shaping who I am today.
My mental health problems as a kid had a long-lasting effect on how I saw myself. To save my family, especially my single mother, from further anxiety, I used to conceal my troubles from them. This hidden furthered my emotional isolation by erecting a barrier between myself and my loved ones. I had a good view of the world at first, but as my difficulties continued, I grew more depressed. Even if my inner conflicts frequently tested them, my natural optimism and sympathetic ideals toward my friends, the environment, and life endured.
One of my mother's first actions in addressing my mental health as a child was therapy, but it did not bring the solace I was looking for. I frequently felt that instead of being understood, my feelings were being minimized and approached as issues that needed to be solved. I felt misinterpreted and invalidated by this attitude. As I got older, a stepfather and his children—who upheld outdated, traditional notions of masculinity—changed the relationships inside my family. His idea that men should handle their feelings privately led to the toxic climate around emotional expressiveness. His abusive nature to me and manipulation into thinking my relationship with him along with his actions was a healthy father-son relationship later set me back in my progression.
I didn't discover a more intimate and private method to express my feelings and think back on my daily experiences until my mother got me started writing I wrote in journals and wrote letters to each others to communicate with each other, as I later on realized she too was dealing with mental health issues. I looked to role figures like Tupac Shakur and Steve Harvey for advice. After reading Tupac's poetry, I started composing songs and poems of my own to convey my emotions. Nevertheless, this emerging form of self-expression was suffered from by my stepfather's hatred for my way of expression as he believed that it was for women, ironically he was the one who introduced me to Tupac.
A new wave of emotional stress was brought on by my mother and stepfather's divorce. I internalized my feelings as the eldest kid and felt compelled to take on the role of man of the home to save my mother from becoming more stressed about taking care of my two younger siblings. I attempted to hold everything inside, which resulted in occasional panic episodes as a result of this internalization. Eventually, my mother connected me to The Black Man Lab, a group that offered Black boys and men a secure place to openly express themselves. Especially after I joined the Black Lives Matter Movement's We Need You Project and started turning some of my writings into songs, this experience was life-changing.
The obstacles of high school were unique. In my sophomore year, I changed schools because of unjust football practices and bullying. My main way of venting was through football, but because of my stature, I was scrutinized. My emotional load increased with the racial issues the new school provided. Football continued to be an essential means of self-expression for me despite these challenges. I quit writing poetry around the end of high school because I thought it was time to "grow up."
Graduating high school was a turning moment. I made a conscious effort to keep my distance from students who contributed to my feelings of depression while taking comfort in the personal development and transformation I had experienced. My mental health and self-perception were greatly aided by my mentors, who included football coaches Steve Stroman and Jerel Worthy.
Going to Morehouse College was enlightening. My perspective on life, myself, and my mental health were significantly altered by the friends and mentors I made there. I was able to advance much by having in-depth discussions about our sentiments and emotions in a secure and supportive environment. I've rekindled my love for poetry, which has helped me express my emotions in a very effective way, and got to express that at many poetry slams.
Motivated by my experiences and journey, my Morehouse brother TJ and I launched a podcast with an emphasis on mental health and a platform for Black males to openly express themselves. This initiative is a reflection of my desire to promote open and honest discussions around mental health.
I am proud of the guy I have become, even though I am aware that there are still things I need to work on in my life. I have come a long way in my personal development at Morehouse, where I am surrounded by encouraging peers and mentors. I have hope for the future and am sure that I am headed in the direction of being the best version of myself.

I have developed an unmatched drive for football, which gives me a rush unlike anything else. There's nothing quite like the rush of seizing the ball, deftly sidestepping opponents, and scoring. Nothing else has been able to match the special excitement that is created by the surge of adrenaline, the feeling of control, and the mastery of the game. Also, the audience's cheers and encouragement heighten the happiness. An exciting aspect is added to the game by the group of individuals who are all rooting for you to succeed. It's not only about celebrating your own success; it's also about celebrating with people who value and recognize your hard work.
The sense of purpose that football gives me is what makes it so meaningful, for me, even above the spectator cheers and the physical parts. It turned into the first setting where I had to confront how other people saw me vs how I saw myself. Despite criticism from others based just on appearances, football served as a platform for me to demonstrate my genuine ability.
To me, football is more than simply a game. I discover who I am in this arena and demonstrate that I'm much more than what first meets the eye. It serves as a continual reminder that my potential is unrestricted by what people may assume about me based only on my appearance. It's my thing, my path of empowerment and self-discovery, and it's also a big middle finger to everyone who underestimates my abilities.
For me, football has become a classroom of life lessons rather than just a pastime. It was akin to a crash course that gave me leadership abilities, forbearance, fortitude, and perseverance all at once.
It's the strength game first of all. Yes, mentally as well as physically. Football presents obstacles that require you to reach down deep and muster an additional bit of strength to overcome. It's similar to receiving a crash lesson on how to maintain your strength in the face of opposition.
There's also patience, which is the ability to wait for the ideal play at the ideal time. Sometimes the strategy is not to charge in, but to wait your turn and strike when the timing is right. I've learned a lot about patience in life as well from experiencing that on the field.
One other important one is resilience. You take hits, you make mistakes, but you get back up in football. I've developed this expertise on the field, and it carries over into my daily life. I possess an inner resilience that enables me to overcome obstacles and keep going when things get hard.
Football is a leadership lab, guy. This is leadership boot camp: working as a team, motivating others, and making those important choices. I've discovered that effective leadership involves setting an example and being present for the team when they need me.
The confidence round is the bonus round, though. Football has a magical ability to inspire self-belief. You become more aware of your potential the more you play and practice. It instills a sense of confidence in anything you do, both on and off the field.
One defining moment showcased my leadership during a challenging football season. Despite adversity, I chose to be a leader, fostering teamwork, and resilience. This led to my appointment as a team captain, recognized for my leadership amidst difficulties.

A scientifically literate culture is fostered by scientific exploration, which stimulates curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning. Understanding the universe offers an ethical viewpoint that aids in thinking through more significant issues regarding the nature of reality, the universe, and the purpose of existence for both individuals and society.
The concepts I hope to employ in order to do so is to find ways to consciously access our subconscious mind has the power to open up a world of opportunities and transform our conception of what it is to be human. The subconscious mind is a huge area that, when actively exploited, could have transforming effects. It is commonly thought of as the storehouse of thoughts, memories, and automatic activities. The following scenarios might occur if we were able to consciously reach and use our subconscious mind:
Accelerated Learning, memory retention and accelerated learning may be enhanced by consciously accessing the subconscious. Improved mental abilities may result from information processed and stored more efficiently when it is absorbed during awake hours.
Subconscious thought is linked to creative expression. People may be able to access it deliberately and discover original concepts and creative fixes for challenging issues. This could have significant effects on the arts, sciences, and technology.

Addressing the problems faced by the disadvantaged is a pressing concern for any society. This essay will argue that it is not only necessary for society to change its way of responding to these issues, but also to adapt and evolve in order to meet the evolving needs and challenges of the disadvantaged.
Society must acknowledge that the challenges faced by the disadvantaged are not static. They evolve over time due to various factors, such as changes in the economic landscape, advancements in technology, and shifting societal norms. By recognizing the dynamic nature of these challenges, society can adapt its responses to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
Adapting and evolving our responses to the problems of the disadvantaged allows us to embrace progressive solutions. Traditional approaches may not always yield the desired outcomes, especially when confronted with new and complex issues. By fostering an environment of innovation and creativity, society can identify and implement fresh strategies that address the root causes of disadvantage more effectively.
Changing the way society responds to the disadvantaged is not a solitary endeavor. It requires collaboration among various stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, community leaders, and individuals. Through collective efforts, society can pool resources, share expertise, and develop holistic solutions that empower the disadvantaged and promote their social integration.
In addition to adapting responses, society must also shift the narrative surrounding the disadvantaged. Negative stereotypes and stigmatization perpetuate marginalization and hinder progress. By promoting empathy, understanding, and inclusivity, society can foster an environment that values the inherent worth and potential of every individual. This change in narrative helps to break down barriers and promote positive social change.
Society's response to the problems of the disadvantaged should not be a one-time fix, but an ongoing commitment to sustainable progress. This requires continuous evaluation and adjustment of policies, programs, and interventions to address emerging challenges. By adapting and evolving, society can ensure that its efforts remain effective and responsive to the evolving needs of the disadvantaged over time.
In conclusion, it is essential for society to not only change but also adapt and evolve its responses to the problems faced by the disadvantaged. Recognizing the evolving nature of these challenges, embracing progressive solutions, fostering collaboration, shifting the narrative, and ensuring sustainable progress are all crucial aspects of this process. By doing so, society can create a more equitable and inclusive environment where the disadvantaged can thrive and contribute to the overall well-being and progress of the entire community.
DRIVE an IMPACT Today Scholarship
My name is Ibin-Farod Shabazz, I am a young black man whose whole life has been surrounded by the acronyms of being DRIVEN. Growing up my mother strived to make sure I was a well-rounded educated kid, learning about many subjects, history, and facts from different places, cultures, people, and periods. She has given me the mind and determination of a predator animal, but also her nurturing heart and empathy toward others, which has allowed me to make great accomplishments and also the ability to connect well with others. Despite my goals, I had to be driven and overcome many obstacles that tried to stop me but eventually shaped me into a better man. There are so many obstacles in everyone's life but an obstacle that has impacted and challenged me has been hate given to me by some of my peers and my biological dad. 2 months later the pandemic hit and it took a toll on me. I went through depression for months, questioning why the divorce happened and if it was my fault. It wasn’t until I talked to my mom that I found out that she was facing depression from his verbal abuse, and because of this I reached out to my mentors to talk about my problems and they help me become a part of an organization called Black Man Lab, that finally took me out of my comfort zone and finally start to understand who I am, talking to highly successful and respected black men. I learn how to show and be respected by many because when I was younger, I use to believe that the people that made me feel bad about myself and the stuff they said about me were true and that it was my fault, but I realized that if that were true I wouldn't be fortunate as I am and as smart as I am. Although some of this stuff said to me may be true, I am a dreamer and as I grow I will continue to improve the traits needed to become great. Thanks to the amount of sweat, sleepless nights, and stress my mom endured to make sure my siblings and I were in a place where we can thrive, succeed, learn, and be happy, I have now taken things into my own to create my future and finish what my mom has started. Not only am I a young smart black man, but I am also a rising entrepreneur, young activist, musician, engineer, google certified digital marketer, and e-commerce being well-rounded and innovative. As of right now, I am taking courses with Google to become Google Certified for Digital Marketing and E-commerce and also for leadership to become versatile in different areas of work, but this isn't anything new to me because I have been selected to be a leader in many of the sports I've played and have also been given the invitation to join the leadership program just in 4th grade. I plan to continue to learn from my mentors at the Black Man Lab and do internships to understand the pros and cons of the different businesses and how to start them to not only improve myself and grow but to spread that knowledge back to my community especially to young men and women of color to equalize the industry. My main goal in life is to become successful and gain generational wealth but to also help other young students who like me question their abilities and allow them to explore their talents to become even more successful than I will be.
Aspiring Musician Scholarship
Music has played a profound role in shaping the way I view the world, offering a positive and transformative influence on my life. It has provided me with a powerful means of self-expression, allowing me to navigate through life's challenges without the pressures of external interactions and opinions. Through music, I have forged a deep connection with myself and others, enabling personal growth, learning, and emotional connection. Influenced by iconic figures such as Tupac Shakur and J. Moreover, music has been a catalyst for personal growth and learning. As I delved into the works of influential artists like Tupac Shakur and J. Cole, I was inspired to explore my own creativity and develop my own voice. Their thought-provoking lyrics, storytelling abilities, and social commentary motivated me to use music as a medium to share my own experiences, feelings, and reflections. I began writing poems and music that allowed me to address social issues, express my emotions, and ponder the mysteries of life. Music became an instrument of self-discovery and self-reflection, enabling me to navigate the complexities of the world and gain a deeper understanding of myself.
Music has the remarkable ability to evoke emotions, transport me to different places and times, and provide solace during difficult moments. It has become a companion on my journey, a soundtrack to my life that can uplift, console, and inspire. Whether I am celebrating moments of joy or seeking solace during times of sadness, music has always been there, offering a balm for the soul and reminding me of the power of artistic expression.
In conclusion, music has had a profound impact on shaping the way I view the world. Without music, I would not have had the same opportunities for growth and self-discovery. Music has become an integral part of my identity and has enriched my life in immeasurable ways. It continues to be a source of inspiration, comfort, and connection, guiding me on my journey through life.

@normandiealise #GenWealth Scholarship
Generational wealth is more than just money; it is a legacy of values and traditions that have been handed down from family members to their descendants and the right choices we choose to extend it Generational wealth to me means creating a legacy that my family initiated but designed for my future family. It is a way to ensure that my progeny can benefit from the hard work, dedication, and wisdom that was passed down from my ancestors. This legacy is not only about the material wealth that is accumulated but also about the intangible values and principles that are embedded in the fabric of my family’s history. Generational wealth is about providing my family with the resources to help them succeed in life. It is about creating an environment for them to flourish financially and emotionally. It is about instilling in them the confidence to take risks, the courage to make mistakes, and the resilience to persevere in the face of adversity. It is also about giving them the tools and knowledge to be able to make informed decisions and reach their fullest potential.
Generational wealth is not just about money, but also the relationships that have been forged over decades of hard work, dedication, and love. It is about providing a supportive network of family and friends who have been there to lend a helping hand, offer guidance and advice, and be a shoulder to lean on when times get tough. It is about building and maintaining strong relationships that will serve as the foundation for future generations. Generational wealth is also about leaving a legacy of respect and appreciation for the sacrifices that were made by those who came before us. It is about instilling in our family the importance of honoring and preserving our history so that our descendants can continue to benefit from it. It’s about creating and maintaining a legacy that will last for generations to come.
I plan to gain generational wealth by allowing myself to have multiple experiences. This includes investing in myself and the risks I take but also in those who support me along the way. I will also take the time to learn from mentors and peers who have already achieved wealth (both in money but also as a mindset) and can provide me with valuable insight and advice. I will also make sacrifices, such as taking risks, and sometimes having to just be by myself to focus on what I need to do. Most importantly, I will have the confidence and mindset that I will gain generational wealth. This will give me the motivation and drive to continue to stay focused on my goals. I will also network with the right people and strive to build long-term relationships with them to help me further my goals. Finally, I will keep learning, stay disciplined, and remain consistent so that I will be able to build and maintain my wealth over an extended period.

There are so many obstacles in everyone's life but an obstacle that has impacted and challenged me has been hate given to me by some of my peer's mentorship and leadership are two important qualities essential for any community's betterment. With Atlanta being the capital of the state of Georgia, there needs to be strong leaders and mentors in the city working to make a positive impact. Leadership and mentorship are critical components of creating a strong, vibrant, and successful community. Leadership involves providing direction and guidance to a group of people to achieve a shared goal. As a leader, it is important to have a clear vision of what the community should look like and to inspire others to work together to make that vision a reality. A leader must also be willing to take risks, make tough decisions and be resilient in the face of adversity. Mentorship is also an important part of building a successful community. It involves providing guidance, support, and encouragement to others to help them reach their goals. As a mentor, it is important to be a role model and to act as a positive influence in the lives of those around you. Mentors should strive to create a safe and accepting environment where people can learn and grow. Making a positive impact on the community of Atlanta requires both leadership and mentorship. As a leader, it is important to set a good example for others to follow, and to be willing to take risks and make tough decisions to make the community a better place. As a mentor, it is important to provide guidance, support, and encouragement to those around you to help them reach their goals. Both leadership and mentorship require dedication, hard work, and a commitment to making a positive change in the community. Leadership and mentorship have the power to bring people together and create a strong sense of community in Atlanta. By working together, leaders and mentors can help to create an environment where people feel safe and accepted and can work together to achieve a shared goal. Through their efforts, leaders and mentors can make a positive impact on the community of Atlanta and create a better future for its citizens.
Jorian Kuran Harris (Shugg) Helping Heart Foundation Scholarship
My name is Ibin-Farod Shabazz, I am 178 years old and a high school senior. I am the son of a single mother with 3 children and the grandson of two immigrants from a beautiful country named Cape Verde. I am a true student-athlete who understands and values the importance of being a student first then an athlete. Growing up my mother strived to make sure I was a well-rounded educated kid, learning about many subjects, history, and facts from different places, cultures, people, and time periods. This is why I strive to go to college not just to get a degree but to network and help allow me achieve my goal to play professional football, but to also become one of the most successful and well-rounded black entrepreneurs in the US and even the world, which is why I put myself in a college and situation that will allow me to quickly and successfully get on that track at Morehouse College. But because of its high tuition I want to apply for this scholarships to allow me to not only go to college but more of an investment on myself. Despite my goals, I had to overcome many obstacles that tried to stop me but eventually shaped me into a better man. There are so many obstacles in everyone's life but an obstacle that has impacted and challenged me has been hate given to me by some of my peers, but also my biological dad. Growing up I didn't understand why I was picked on by classmates, laughed at by my teammates, or even hated by my own father. I felt hopeless, he told me that I will never be someone great and that I am not special, but my mom and family showed me that I was born to be someone amazing. Over time my confidence grew again but it was quickly shut back down by my previous stepfather. He was very abusive towards me both verbally, emotionally, and physically, but because I was never raised by a father, I didn't know that I was facing abuse until after the divorce when I finally spoke out about things I was forced to say in fear that I would get hit. Even after that, I was dealing with bullying during school. But it wasn't until I found my love for writing music and expressing my anger out on the football field, that I gained the confidence to talk about it to my mother, which I later found out she was too verbally abused. These people made me feel that all the stuff they said about me was true and that it was my fault. But I realized that if that were true I wouldn't be fortunate as I am and as smart as I am. I have now realized that the enemy that was stopping me was not the people who try to hurt me because they aren't the ones who are dictating my life, the real enemy stopping me is myself, and once I realized that I could move forward. I realize now that I am a dreamer and as I grow I will continue to improve the traits needed to become great. Thanks to the amount of sweat, sleepless nights, and stress my mom endured to make sure my siblings and I are in a place where we can thrive, succeed, learn, and be happy, I have now taken things into my own to create my own future and finish what my mom has started.
Dema Dimbaya Humanitarianism and Disaster Relief Scholarship
My name is Ibin-Farod Shabazz, I am a rising senior, about to attend Morehouse College. As a black person, I take pride in my community, and I want to do my part to make it a better place. I believe that one of the most effective ways to do this is by giving back and helping those who are in need. I have found that community service and disaster relief are powerful ways to make an impact on people who are black like me that need someone to trust and believe in them.
Community service is a great way to make a difference in the lives of people who are black like me. I have volunteered with various organizations that focus on helping the black community, such as food banks, shelters, and homeless outreach programs. These organizations provide much-needed assistance to individuals who are struggling and need help. By volunteering my time, I am able to make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling by providing them with the resources they need to get back on their feet.
I have also been involved in disaster relief efforts. I have worked with organizations that provide disaster relief to areas affected by natural disasters, such as hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes. By volunteering my time and skills to help those who have been affected by these disasters, I have been able to make a difference in the lives of people who are black like me who have been impacted by these disasters.
In addition to volunteering my time and skills, I have also been involved in raising funds for disaster relief efforts. I have organized fundraisers, such as bake sales and car washes, to raise money for disaster relief organizations. By raising money, I am able to help those who are in need and provide them with the resources they need to get back on their feet.
In the future, I plan to continue volunteering my time and skills to help those who are in need. I want to continue to give back to my community and make a difference in the lives of people who are black like me. I also want to continue to raise funds for disaster relief efforts. I believe that by doing this, I can make a real impact on the lives of people who are black like me and who need someone to trust and believe in them

Richard Neumann Scholarship
My proposed solution to the problem of self-confidence and leadership focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment in which people can learn and practice the skills necessary to increase self-confidence and become better leaders. I took a leadership role this year, for my football team. Last year our football was badly hurt, with most of our players being seniors and leaving, having barely enough players for an actual team, and our coaches leaving midseason. I was allowed to leave after the season to play somewhere else with a more foundational system team to play, but because I committed to my team, I chose to make a big leap and become something more than just a player on a football team, I chose to be a leader. With the help of some other rising seniors and my coach, we were able to get enough players to have a season and although it isn't as much as many other schools, 30+ players were enough for us to play. We had many athletes that could perform but despite that we also got coaches to come and coach for our team to prepare us for the season. One of the best moments of the season was when the freshman who was playing started to doubt themselves and question why they were on the team, and instead of sugarcoating it, I told them that they are on the team to play football but the purpose of a varsity team is to play the best available players in the best positions, and if they wanted to be that they had to work hard in school and practice. But one thing that was the most important was that they join a team to create a brotherhood and moments that they could remember and have fun with. Bonds that lasted longer than the season, but were strong enough to make it feel like we are still there. The first step to implementing this solution would be to create a website or mobile application that functions as a hub for resources related to self-confidence and leadership. This would include an online community for discussion and support, as well as articles, videos, and other materials related to the topics. The website or application would also include a “mentor” program, where experienced professionals could offer guidance and advice to users. The second step would be to create an in-person workshop series. These workshops would focus on teaching the skills needed to increase self-confidence and become better leaders. The workshops could be held in various locations, such as schools, universities, community centers, and workplaces. The workshops could be conducted by experts in the field, or by experienced professionals who have a passion for helping others. The third step would be to set up a scholarship program to make the workshops accessible to people from all
walks of life. The program would provide financial assistance to those who cannot afford to attend the workshops. Finally, the solution would include a “coaching” program, where people could work one-on-one with mentors and coaches to develop their self-confidence and leadership skills. The coaching program would be tailored to each individual’s needs and could include sessions with professionals such as life coaches, career coaches, and mental health professionals. The goal of the solution is to create a safe and supportive environment where people can learn the skills necessary to increase their self-confidence and become better leaders. With the right resources and support, people can develop and hone their skills, and ultimately become more confident and successful in all aspects of their lives.

Despite my goals, I had to overcome many obstacles that tried to stop me but eventually shaped me into a better man as I grow into manhood. My definition of manhood is to be a man that shows respect for others, is humble, and demonstrates kindness and generosity. It means leading by example, taking responsibility for your actions, and being accountable for the consequences. In a man’s manhood, he must also be respected, an honorable man, and also commits to personal growth and development. This means challenging yourself to grow and learn, taking the time to reflect on your actions, and striving to become a better version of yourself. It means setting a positive example for others and inspiring them to do the same. It means taking responsibility for your actions and showing up for yourself and those around you. Lastly, it means using your power, influence, and privilege to enact positive change in the world and positively contribute to the community around you. I used to believe that the people that made me feel bad about myself and the stuff they said about me were true and that it was my fault, but I realized that if that were true I wouldn't be fortunate as I am and as smart as I am. Although some of this stuff said to me may be true, I am a dreamer and as I grow I will continue to improve the traits needed to become great. Not only am I a young smart black man, but I am also a rising entrepreneur, young activist, musician, engineer, google certified digital marketer, and e-commerce. I believe the definition of manhood varies and can be described differently, but the general concept of manhood is to overcome adversity and challenges, lift up those around you, make an impact on those who may look up to you, and ultimately create a legacy for yourself and those who come after you, but also build the legacy of those who came before you. But manhood isn’t figured out on its own, we go through manhood by learning from our elders, mentors, peers, and idols. I've learned how to respect myself, my family, and others. And also to be a gentleman, a believer, and a dreamer. He has taught many people that laughter is something we must use to become successful. I know that one day I WILL become successful and accomplish my dreams. In conclusion, I believe manhood is the journey of living through life with a positive mindset, overcoming challenges, building other people up, learning from others, and most importantly being able to fail multiple times for the opportunity to succeed for a better future.

Bonds that lasted longer than the season, but were strong enough to make it feel like we are still there. Due to this I was named one of the captains of our team and was told by our head coach that he was grateful for my leadership skills, despite the issues that came at our team. I learned this from Steve Harvey, he is a comedian, talk show host, and author but he is also an inspiration to many, especially me. He has taught me to always believe in myself no matter how much that hate has given us and to persevere through major obstacles in life no matter how big or small. A quote Steve Harvey said that is very important to me is: "Perfection doesn't exist, we all fall short in something. God takes you just the way you are." Steve Harvey has had many challenges in his life but he believed that because of those experiences he has become a better man and person teaching others to believe that if you have trust in yourself and your dreams, you will grow stronger and better. He has taught me how to respect myself, my family, and others. He taught me to be a gentleman, a believer, and a dreamer. He has taught many people that laughter is something we must use to become successful. I know that one day I WILL become successful and accomplish my dreams. I want to spread what I learned from him and share it to many other people.
