Growing up, my dad gave me a book on EMT procedures and what to know about the human body. I spent an entire summer reading the sections about human anatomy and the bacterial infections that occur when someone gets injured.
In middle school, I became interested in Japanese anime, and one of the first few I watched was called “Cells at Work,” detailing how cells live in the human body, interacting with other cells and bacteria to keep an individual alive.
Since then, cell biology and STEM have been part of what I want to study in the future, and so I’ve been planning the steps it would take for me to get to where I want to be.
Many of these qualities make me a great candidate for scholarships; I’ve learned to be a good communicator and a hard worker, and I am dedicated to my goals, which would benefit others more than me at times.
By gaining a scholarship, I would be closer to achieving my goals, of pursuing science, and I would be able to help other individuals in the face of new diseases that we've never seen before.
