Hi my name is Hope I am wanting to go to school to become a special education teacher. I have some of my own disabilities that will make paying for college harder. I am hoping to go to my dream college St.Ambrose University in Davenport Iowa. I hoping to get enough scholarships to pay for a lot of my tuition costs

Yes I was in the foster system Hi my name is Hope and I love to color and paint. I Love horses, dogs, cats, polar bears, red pandas, and dolphins. I have been diagnosed with anxiety, ADHD, dmdd, odd, and troubles with sensory issues. How I plan to make a positive impact is to graduate college with a bachelors degree in special education. I want to help kids who have different diagnoses and the ones who need the most help. I want to make sure kids don't have to go into the foster care system. It's not fair to these kids if they have to go into foster either because of their behaviors. Or especially because their parents could not take care of them or they were abused or even drug or alcohol related cases.

I own 2 dogs right now one is a German Shepard Great Pyrenees named Apollo and a pug named Tuxedo. The role my dogs play for me is therapy dogs. sometimes when I come home from a hard day at school I let my dogs out and take them outside for a little while. When we come back in Apollo thinks he's a lap dog and tries to climb all over me. If I stop petting him he will start to bat at me until I pet him some more. We have taken our time training him to teach tricks my favorite trick I taught him to do is to dance. We walk forward and we walk backward while Apollo is standing on his bottom legs. Now Tuxedo on the other hand is ridiculous. He likes to run into trees and for some reason, Tuxedo likes to follow you anywhere you go. He is very weird no one pets him but Tuxedo rolls around on the ground and acts like someone is petting him but no one is. When he does this he looks like he is upside down and running in place. Tuxedo got his name because when we went to go adopt him the family we adopted him from called him Tuxedo as a nickname. My brother and the rest of my family thought the name Tuxedo was a good choice but we had officially picked Tuxedo. There is a certain meaning behind the name Tuxedo when he was little he had black and white fur on his chest area. He still has it on his chest now but it's not as vibrant and has gotten darker because of his age. What I want to do is become a special education teacher for high school students between the age of 14-18. I want to work with kids who can speak and walk and who don't have as many issues but I also want to work in the classroom with kids who are more disabled. Kids who have behavioral issues all the time, who can't write or speak. I want to work with kids who need a lot of help and ones who quite don't need as much help as others. I want to be able to bring in some therapy dogs about once a month. Dogs bring me joy so when I am older I want to be able to have my therapy dog or two. I want to bring these dogs to come and see the children I work with at school so then the children get positive reinforcement. I know dogs love to be pet or played with so I want to take the kids outside and take the dog on a walk to make these kids happy. These kids get something special to do and something to look forward to doing. Bringing therapy dogs into schools can help teach dogs and children. The children can learn by being able to read to the dogs and teach the dogs how to do the math. But also then the children can have buddies and out on these dogs to help be a great mentor. Dogs can learn social skills, and manners and they get more experience being therapy dogs. But also they get more experience being able to work with kids who have disabilities and kids who don't. So then these therapy dogs can learn to work with different people and learn that everyone is different in their ways plus ways to help people with their needs.
